    Fascinating! Many thanks….especially for taking us into the depot! Excellent videography too…I’ve seen other videos of the Northern Lone but this one made my me fully appreciate the incredible engineering and the infrastructure behind this railway. I come from a SR 3rd rail background so it was interesting to see the extra complications of the fourth rail. Even though this video was obviously made during off peak times it’s surprising just how busy the Northern Line is. I’ve subscribed and look forward to many more of the same. Northfields used to be just a busy stretch if the North Circular Road (best avoided!) …but not any more., best wishes and thanks again, Rob in Bournemouth, Dorset.

    Ex-Stagecoach London Routemaster RML 2748 seen on the left of the Richmond branch of the District Line west of Turnham Green station at 17:32. It was then used as a playbus back then but it looked very sorry for itself with its engine removed and all four of its tyres let down. It is now used as a welcome bus at the Liquid Leisure Water Park near Windsor.

    Even if you can't see the signal go to green because its out of shot, you can at least see the train stops go down.😁
    I notice a lot of the time that the signal at the platform end is always red just up to the point when the train approaches it, then turns green. Are these signals being manually controlled?

    • @TheOliogs
      @TheOliogs Год назад

      Some signals are approached controlled, so might be that: These will automatically clear to green once the train slows to the permitted speed, provided there's no train in the section ahead.

    • @warweezil2802
      @warweezil2802 4 года назад

      Shed leads provide traction current in the shed roads, the idea is the leads can “ follow” the train as it is moved from the unpowered shed road back onto the current rails. Usually sets booked for service would be left with the front unit parked back on the juice and a shed lead left in the rear. Woe betide the driver who forgets to check if there is still a lead in the receptical box on the rear unit and drags it out of the roof as he “pulls up” ready to leave the depot

    • @xiuyi
      @xiuyi 3 года назад

      For a short period the piccadilly trains ran on the district line tracks (some problem with the district line maybe I don't know) because between earls court and acton their routes are the same. The trains would have accessed the district line platforms at earls court via points further down the line where the district and piccadilly run side by side

      It lets you know how much of your train is still in the platform. This is used in case an alarm handle is pulled. If within the station deal with it there if out of station stop find out what the problem is then continue to the next station and deal with it there.

      The train was probably going to a different depot, or it was origionaly at a different depot to start off with, and if you didn't notice, the doors on this train never opened so it was NIS

      Oh no :( That would make a great video though, I have a question seeing as you are a driver for the Pic Line, what are the possibilities that a Driver would let me put my GoPro in the cab to film the journey?

    That's a District Line yo, Piccadilly never calls at High S. K. nor Ravenscourt, Stamford Brook, and Chiswick Park.

    • @piccadillyline9765
      @piccadillyline9765  7 лет назад

      Look in the mirror at the start of the vid its a 73 stock.

    • @kismikola
      @kismikola 7 лет назад

      I'm aware of that, but what's with the route? Why is it stopping at stations where Piccadilly never meant to be?

    • @piccadillyline9765
      @piccadillyline9765  7 лет назад

      We were filming a route knowledge video. The stop at the stations is to give a chance to put some other bits in the video.

    • @piccadillyline9765
      @piccadillyline9765  7 лет назад

      And we do stop all stations Hammer to Acton when the District is in trouble (some times) :)

      I see, my second though was that Piccadilly replaces the District time to time. Thank you for explaining!
