Just got my 2019 KIA Niro EV with 21K miles back after a week in the dealership shop. I was hearing the clicking sound from the drivetrain at slow speed. The sound is very suttle and you have to listen very carefully to hear it, almost like a muffled ratcheting sound, but it's definitely detectable. They said it could be three things: Motor mount (which they replaced first), the reduction gear, or the Traction Motor( which is equivalent of gasoline car engine in EVs). In my case it turned out to be the Traction Motor. Service tech told me had my car not been under warranty, it would've have cost close to $11,000.

Got the same problem with my UK spec eNiro. Kia are taking ages to fix it, 4000 miles since it started, no I can hear it constantly even with radio at 20. I reckon I've got at least 4 more months until they get to the motor replacement (had 2 engine mounts). I'm just waiting for it to fail at this rate...

I bought ev Niro, out of garantee (below market price 4000eur) Clikcing noise was loud. Solution was 2pcs RS6007 bearing change in electric motor+3liter of coolant. Cost: change parts 100eur, workship 500 eur. Now the tire noise most louder at all 😂 don't worry be EV!

5:01 If gasoline enters the oil supply in an EV, your drivechain has some serious problems. And it'll for sure confuse the mechanics how gasoline ended up inside an EV.

Not sure why the engine oil issue is brought up since the video is supposed to be about the EV.

My Niro EV 2020 model has an issue with fast chargers that Kia seems unable to fix. The fast charger gives an error that communication with the vehicle failed, and will not start the charging session.
Sometimes it seems to help to hold the plug while communication is attempted, but often when releasing it stops charging again.
I have been at Kia twice and they have not been able to fix this issue yet.

The 2023 Kia NERO EV got a major upgrade for the USA version: This video could use an update on that model specifically, now as I understand it
it does not appear in any official writing from KIA there was a major design on suspension or other ''hard core' mechanical or electrical components, but
I feel based on review's for this model, there probably was some fine tuning of the EV over all to the point, where the differences are great enough
to know any reviews before the 2023 model re-design are not necessarily applicable:
Best part of my rant: At the risk of hurting my own future financial gain, I'll remind others here in the hopes of good karma on my failing 2007 Buick GM series III engine:
On January 1st, 2025, you can apply 4,000 off a used EV from the 2023 model years, and the KIA NERO EV, is one of the few EV's that got that
upgrade in 2023, which means if your reading this comment, you should begin preparing your budget for a 2023 NERO EV (wind or wave trim) because it is
after the discount, (for some people a better deal than the next best deal in the used EV market which is the much cheaper 2022 Chevy Bolts, but suffer from
torsion beam only suspension and much slower level 3 DC fast charging and don't come with rear AC vents or other extra's like the vehicle to load bonus
that allows you to charge small scale electric appliances , including certain electric power stations, or air compressors, or mini fridges, etc...(all kinds of use cases
there if you want go enjoy the outdoors in remote area's but lack of electricity makes it harder, a really cool example is inflatable tents which are much easier to set up)

My 2023 phev Niro has been making a loud growling sound when I shift from R to D and turn the wheel right or left. It has been doing this since April. It doesn't do it every time, but everytime it happens, that is the pattern. I have had it in the shop to address the problem and the mechanic said it was due to faulty rear shock absorbers (?), which he replaced. Three days after I got the car back, the noise returned. It sounds like it's coming from the front of the car, almost under my seat. Have another appointment to take it in. Any ideas or experience with this problem. I also had that problem with lurching but it hasn't happened since I took it in for that problem a few months ago. I think I have a defective vehicle! Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
