I know people were upset hat Lucky talked to his mother that way but it was so brilliantly done. The whole character of Lucky was brought up with his parents as his two best friends and an entire world of stories and illusions built around him that was crashing down on top of him. Watching him go through that transformation was brutal but necessary because he begins to see his parents as real people rather than just their mythic love. And it was only natural that he would take it out on Laura - it hurt him that deep and felt such a sense of betrayal by the two people he loved most in the world and it could not have been acted better than by those 3 actors. I've watched these storylines so many times and am still blown away by it - the pinnacle of writing and acting by a family you watch grow together over the years.

It blows me away that Jonathan Jackson was 16 when this was filmed. This whole storyline when he was 15/16 and had more depth and presence than most actors twice his age, and was dealing with such incredibly heavy subject matter.
He was cruel to Laura. He wanted to hurt her. The dialogue here was amazing. What a great time for GH this was.

This scene between Laura and Lucky is so heartbreaking and brilliant. You really feel for them both so much, both Jonathan and Genie did an incredible job. It's so harsh how Lucky lashed out at Laura, but at the same time I understand. Laura's argument of "How can anyone really say what love is" is pretty sick. Rape is not love. But then again, some of what Lucky said to Laura is cruel. I can't believe he actually said that maybe she needs to be kidnapped or raped to feel important to someone.

The thing is that rape is like any other actions between two human beings..... not the same. Lucky can't imagine anything other than what happened to Elizabeth. And the reality is, while Luke DID rape Laura, he lost control of himself. And she already had feelings for him at the time which is why she felt so guilty about it.

Wow JJ’s Lucky could be so savage! I love seeing how savage he could be here and how sweet he could be with Elizabeth.

My God this was powerful!!! JJ's interaction with Genie was one of the defining moments in their history. I think they should bring Genie back for this new storyline with Luke killing Jake

its one thing for Lucky to feel angry and betrayed or what have you but he is flat out judging and attacking her on something he can't begin to understand like Laura....what he needs to reconcile about his parents is nothing compared to what Laura had to deal with both then and the revisit of what happened....and the fact he is so smug about it and just rude.

Lucky was wrong in the way he treated Laura but as for Genie and Jonathan they acted the hell out of this scene. The fact that he was only 16 here and he's been working with powerhouses like Tony and Genie since he was 11 and bringing is A game ever since was incredible. No other actor could have done these scenes justice.

Lucky is out of line I understand his frustrations but he needed to be checked right here.

When he grabbed her hand she should have slapped him with her other one.

I vaguely remember this scene and of course I know of the infamous 'love story' of Luke and Laura of this soap. In some ways, I found this particular story line fascinating as Lucky learned that Luke raped his mother and was wondering what his reaction would be, because I'd been pretty baffled and disgusted at how Laura somehow got over and forgave LUke for what he did. I can completely understand Lucky feeling the same way and maybe angry at Laura for forgiving Luke and still agreeing to marry him, even after the rape. I never did understand why she stayed with him (and yes, viewers, I'm sorry but it was RAPE.. it was none of this 'seduction' crap the writers of GH tried to tell you), but I do think Lucky is REALLY out of line here in how he talked to her about the rape and how she got over it, or whatever she did. VERY disrespectful of Lucky. I did like how supportive Lucky was of Liz when she was raped. He was a great friend to her, but really out of line with Laura, here. I agree with Laura that she didn't deserve to be talked like that by her son.

I like Lucky, but some people say he’s manipulative, possessive, selfish and controlling !! I can see him being a little hypocritical but some people also say he was a f***boy !! One person said I don’t know what Liz saw in him !!

Wonderful performance by Genie Francis, I love her monologue starting with "I am your mother!" I think she's got kind of a mix of good points ("You don't own me") and sort of rationalizations covering unprocessed trauma ("we rose above it.")
By concealing these events from his wife, Luke 100% set his wife up to be ambushed in this horribly unpleasant way, first by Audrey then by Lucky. It's such an astonishingly shitty thing for him to do. And I do think that's why I don't buy Laura's argument that the rape was just "one hour out of a lifetime," because he still treats her like this and she puts up with it. Hard to believe that dynamic has nothing to do with the rape.
Lol at Lucky's bizarre claim that "normal" kids' greatest fear is that they're adopted. Bit of a false note in the writing there haha.
