I watched the breakdown video of that hit. I don't know if any other player can turn there hands and body at 98mph pitch and hit it sqaure. Not any player over 220 pounds anyway. That's amazing. Those hands are nasty

Doesn't surprise me. His father could hit anything thrown at him. Even if the pitch bounced 5 feet short before going over the plate. Vladdy JR is the same, just with more power in his swing then his father.

Bonds was the last guy I can remember who could consistently turn on 98+ inside heat and pull it with that kind of power - that famous AB against Gagne where he’s early on 100 mph fastball and pulls it foul into McCovey Cove, then homers on the next one.

This kid has literally lived and breathed baseball his entire life and has an unsurpassed passion for the game. He has so much fun playing and loves it and its really cool when you see him do things like he did last night. Remember he had a game just last season with 3 hrs also vs Max Sherzer (2 off him and 1 off reliever) so the same thing, at just 23 years old to have 2 games like this within a season of each other. He has skill that no other human has when it comes to hitting. There are other great hitters out there, don't get me wrong, but Vlad is on a different level. He was born and bred to smash baseballs.

@@radish1972 Trout has never had 1 season hitting 48 or more homers yet, let alone doing it while hitting above .300 avg also (Vlad hit 48 with a .311 avg last season). Trouts on his 11th or 12th season, Vladdy is on his 3rd or 4th (if you consider the 60 game season an actual season). Trout has had 3 seasons with an above .1000 OPS, vlad already has 1. Hot take, ever since the sticky stuff ban Cole has reverted back to when he was an all-star with the Pirates and will never be that 2019 dominant pitcher again. He's still a solid pitcher, but the discussion of him being the second or even first best pitcher in baseball is long gone.
