All in all, understeer is easier to handle compared to oversteer

No. When a regular driver faces understeering, they turn the steering wheel even more and slam the brakes, making the situation worse. On the other hand, fighting oversteering is intuitive, though regular drivers suck it too, because they react too slowly.

I would just ask which is more prevalent?
      Risk is severity x likelihood.

Why You Shouldn't Fit New Tyres To The Rear Of Your Vehicle

When you compete in a slippery surface, the front grip is much more important. It’s fine when the rear slides, sliding helps turning. Detecting and fighting understeering is much harder than oversteering.

In case you didn't notice he is talking about slippery conditions, so 99 percent of the time I am not driving in slippery conditions. Last year I drove twice in the rain and I slow down when I do. So you want me to be safer when it rains but not safer when it doesn't? Makes no sense at all, engineers think they know everything. I can take a set of worn out tires and out brake you and drive around a track 5 seconds a lap quicker and make you look stupid all day long but you want me to be safer in the rain for 6 hours of driving a year. Please stop telling people this.
