It's the result of chemistry and commitment between human beings and people change and when people change their chemistry can change or their life circumstances might lead them to changing their commitment to one another. That's just life. It's far more capricious and arbitrary than a sonnet.

When those start becoming lopsided in either direction love dies. There's no such thing as true love. Speaking of this song though, the lines that kill me, almost literally kill me because I actually understand them, is “you can go or you can stay, I won’t love you either way.“ And you are absolutely right. No matter what song Chris sings he’s able to feel it and portrayed the emotion as he sings it. I think that’s one of the most brilliant things about him!

She asked why I didn’t chase after her, and I played this song for her. It literally changed my marriage. We are now fine 5 years later and have no plans to ever be apart. Music is powerful.
