I've watched this video 3 times now and I noticed one thing....YOU! Your emotions went into a scramble mode and Chris made you think. Quite the artist, no? PEACE!!!!!
Everything he does gets his all and everything! Straight to your heart and soul with full body chills. Sometimes tears, sometimes laughter, sometimes an understanding, wistful smile.
When Chris sings "I won't love you either way" you can feel that gut punch, that love that was there and is gone. He's helped me realize that music can be a kind of acting. Because the story in this song isn't his, but the soul is very real.
You don't "Fall out of love" or "That love is gone". It was not love. It was fascination and infatuation. And there for a waste of time. True love Never Dies.
@@acyour Disagree. That's a fun romantic notion but love isn't magical. It's the result of chemistry and commitment between human beings and people change and when people change their chemistry can change or their life circumstances might lead them to changing their commitment to one another. That's just life. It's far more capricious and arbitrary than a sonnet.
@@acyour It may seem cynical, but love (any relationship really friends family ect) is like a bank account, into which both parties make deposits and withdrawals. When those start becoming lopsided in either direction love dies. There's no such thing as true love. Love is a delicate flower and has to be maintained, care for, pruned and watered.. or it will die. No matter who you are, no matter what your story.
He obviously loves his wife with all of his heart ❤, so how in the world can he sing with so much emotion about love being over ? I agree that Chris STAPLETON will be remembered as one of the greatest entertainers
I suspect he’s had other relationships that didn’t work out out. I also suspect he has friends and maybe relatives in loveless relationships. Or maybe he’s just a hell of a songwriter who has the sensitivity to delve into human emotion and put it into song. In any event, I love this song.
other theory: he sings this song & put all his emotions in it because his wife always loved that song and she was the one that encouraged him to record it after it was already recored 9 years prior^^ "My wife always loved that song, which should worry me, but she just loves really slow sad songs and she always wanted me to play that song So, I felt led to do it and if I'm gonna sing something, I'm gonna sing it with every ounce of belief and try to put every bit of believability in a lyric that I can."
Chris can tear my heart out and bring me to tears faster than any other singer, He can make you feel emotions you didn’t know you even had. His voice is pure emotion even when you can barely hear what he is singing. It creeps into your soul and just pulls all sort of emotions out of you. That is pure talent that few have and even fewer understand. The man is a phenom! A gift from God! And I will listen to anything he sings because everything he sings is pure gold.
Such a sad song. Been listening to it for a couple of months. The emotion reminds me of Bonnie Raitt’s I Can’t Make You Love Me. So powerful. Chris us my favorite artist.
Great minds Sarina, I was just talking about Bonnie and Jackson Browne!!! 😳😁 I saw them at Great Woods in MA, they opened 4 Bob Dylan, he sucked, but Bonnie rocked my world!!! What a Woman 😉✌️
I thought you was gonna get a little emotional for a minuet there. Shits made me cry a time or two. "Daddy doesn't pray anymore" absolutely wrecks me when I hear it.
After I discovered the world of Chris Stapleton, I got on iTunes and I purchased every song of his that I could. I have not found a bad song yet! Speaking of this song though, the lines that kill me, almost literally kill me because I actually understand them, is “you can go or you can stay, I won’t love you either way.“ And you are absolutely right. No matter what song Chris sings he’s able to feel it and portrayed the emotion as he sings it. I think that’s one of the most brilliant things about him!
If you been through a rough marriage this song is a great reminder. I love Chris Stapleton! All is music is awesome. Makes you think snd feel the emotions.
Chris has more talent in one strand of beard hair than ALL of Nashville combined. Check out his bluegrass band The Steeldrivers and his shall I say rock band The Jompson Brothers. You won't be disappointed. Generational talent!
I had a really rough patch with my wife several years ago. This song came out and hit me like a ton of bricks. We got in a fight while the kids were out of town, and she said she was leaving again. I told her I wasn’t begging her to stay anymore, and if she wanted to leave I wouldn’t try to stop her. She stormed out, and came back 30 minutes later. She asked why I didn’t chase after her, and I played this song for her. It literally changed my marriage. We are now fine 5 years later and have no plans to ever be apart. Music is powerful.
Whenever a friend exposes all their heartache to me, it breaks me. I carry the pain for days. I imagine this with Stapleton's songs. Supposedly he is happily married. But these heartbreak songs are so gut wrenching. So, this is how my imagination goes....A friend comes to him & dumps his troubles on Chris. Chris listens. Then, Chris goes & writes a song about it. Probably not the way it works...but...
Chris first wrote this song for country artist, Lee Ann Womack, for her 2008 album Call Me Crazy. He was a professional songwriter-mainly for country artists-long before he ever began performing. He recorded his song for his album Room With A View in 2018.
He wrote this I swear he makes you feel things that you did know you were gonna feel just from a song. The rare raw timber and colors his voice has is just unexpected and yet every song he sings makes you feel your feels
MrLboyd Your reactions are so good. You have this charisma over you, and you show the song's feeling so well. Great song, great reaction report, as usual.
Thanks for the video! Really enjoyed seeing your reaction. I got to see Chris in a small theatre in Glasgow, Kentucky before he reached stardom. I met him and his wife. They are really down-to-earth folks.
This man is a national treasure thank you mr Stapleton
Jesus this man can bring me to tears in 60 seconds. Chris Stapleton is second to NO ONE!
I've watched this video 3 times now and I noticed one thing....YOU! Your emotions went into a scramble mode and Chris made you think. Quite the artist, no? PEACE!!!!!
Barely into this one and I'm already tearing up. That man doesn't sing a song, he brings the thing to life.
Yes he does. He's absolutely incredible ❤
Everything he does gets his all and everything! Straight to your heart and soul with full body chills. Sometimes tears, sometimes laughter, sometimes an understanding, wistful smile.
Bro he almost got you crying. Great song
This performance is a masterpiece. I don't use the word lightly.
He is one of the best male vocalist of all time. His voice causes chills. It stops you in your tracks.
The way he sings and delivers a song, literally touches your soul. I can’t get enough of him!

I would guess he has had other women in his life. We all have skeletons in the closet.

His relationship was Rocky a few years back.

Sometimes when asked about the past....should stay in the past. We all adapt and change and not one of us in existence is....perfect
When you see him live, the sheer awe over what you're witnessing builds until you feel swamped by emotion. It's overwhelming. A truly great artist.
Anyone who’s been in a relationship like this that withers on the vine feels this song deeply. Just amazing.
He lived this song . So emotional 😢 😭.

THE BRILLIANCE OF THIS MAN'S MUSICIANSHIP IS COMPLETELY UNBELIEVABLE & UNPARALLELED IN MY LIFETIME OF 64 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!

He counts himself among those that are that scene. Those no talent singers, musicians, and songwriters are all his peers.
