I've seen so many of these non sence videos about iphone se that I'm sick of it. anyone that bought 8 plus over 8 wanted a bigger phone so why would they upgrade to something that is a downgrade for them
I wish I had seen this sooner. I bought the new SE ($549 for 256 GB) but just returned it today. I found a refurbished 8+ in mint condition (256 GB with 100% battery life) for $399!
@@sameerpande2688 You can check the battery health of an iPhone by going to Settings/Battery/Battery Health. The maximum capacity of the battery will show there, even on older iPhones. The older a battery gets, less likely it will show 100%.

One thing you forgot to mention - which is a game changer - the ability to use an eSIM on the SE, and free up the nano-SIM slot - this allows the SE to be dual SIM essentially - especially useful for people who travel - this, the size and the slightly better camera (thanks to Smart HDR) photos whilst still retaining Touch ID makes it my next iPhone at this price-point
You right, you wouldn't wanna switch from iphone se if you have an iphone 8+, but ppl wanna get the se if they dont have the 8+ nowadays prolly bc its more relevant and it'll support more updates and its new
I just got the iPhone SE 2nd gen as a backup phone for when I’m in rural areas, as it is compatible with the newer 600Mhz frequency on the T-Mobile network, giving it access to 4 out of the 5 bands (not 5G compatible) and should have better signal reception, vs the iPhone 8 Plus which is not compatible with the 600Mhz frequency and only gives you access to 3 out of the 5 bands on the T-Mobile network. I’ll be testing it out soon to see how well it does! 🤞🏼
I just don't know why Apple also discontinued iPhone 8plus and Apple never even launched a replacement of iPhone 8plus. I think they just did it to boost up se sales.

Would not upgrade. The size of the phone is important. For me anyway. Already have the 8+. 7+ and 6s+ still use all of them and am happy with them. Will wait for the SE Plus. Try FOCUS app for the picture improvements you want on any older iPhones. It can reproduce nicely many of the camera improvements. Apple could do these same improvements in software for the older phones, but why when FOCUS is already out there and can do much of it. Also. Of the following 4 phones, iPhone 6, 6s, 7, and 8. We can not count the plus models because the 2020SE is not a plus model and does not have the extras that come with the plus models. Of those 4 phones. The new SE is only a major upgrade from the 6/6s. Between the 7 and 8 it is only a minor upgrade. So if you are on a 6/6s and are considering the SE, it is a valid consideration. If you are on anything higher than that wait for the SE+ or the next budget iPhone that comes out after that. I say plus because though it is a larger phone it will have a few extras that the SE doesn’t. Truthfully, if you don’t do heavy gaming on your phone, and it’s just for general use like 90+% of the world. A iPhone 6s+ is still more than enough to do what you need, and it is expected to get another year of OS updates with a few more years security updates.

As for iPhone 8 Plus, you might also mention that not only can you 3D touching sub menus on icons or toggles in the control center faster than Haptic Touch, but also pressing on the left edge of screen you can open the multitasking menu which you cannot do on SE. I know not many people use this feature but it’s just cool for addition

i watched your video as a basis for decision-making. I don't currently have an iPhone at all, but a Huawei p8 lite 2017. Unlocking by fingerprint is important for me, but so is the price, which is why I want to choose between these two iPhones. My current smartphone is sometimes too big at 5.2 ", but 4.7" is also a bit small. Still, the 8 plus would probably be too big for me. Because of this and also because I get a newer technology with longer support, I will choose the SE. Thank you for your video, as it showed me that the differences are not that big!

Should I keep my 8 plus or get the new SE? I like the smaller design a little bit more because i'm a pretty active person and my 8 plus is a brick in my pocket especially when mountain biking. I also have a dslr so the two lenses aren't a huge loss for me. I can also trade my 8 plus in for $250 since it is pristine with no scratches after a year meaning I can get the 128 gb SE for $200. iPhone 8 Plus is made with space grade aluminum components. iPhone SE is a knock off cheap, budget phone with cheap parts. When it comes to durability, there’s no comparison. iPhone 8/plus all the way
Se 2020 is far better than 8+because its run by A13 bionic chipset which we have seen in iphone 11 and camera also far better than 8+ it is because of processor, only se lack in screen n battery backup ,, and raised se far better in anyway

8 Plus is better in literally every way. Bigger Better Screen. 3D Touch. Better Camera. Better Battery life. Cheaper. Regarding updates, both phones have 3GB of RAM if I am not mistaken, both also uses the more modern AXX - Bionic Apple chips, so their software updates should actually be identical. RAM plays a bigger part in iOS updates over time than the chip, all of these have been quite overpowered for what they need to do for a few years now going back to the 6s/7 for everything not counting casual use. There are Ipads from 2014 on iOS 15. When apple decides to move to 4GB RAM minimums for iOS...thats when anything short of the Ipad Air 4, Ipad Mini 6, Ipad Pro 2017 and Iphone 11 will cease to be updated. Mind you the base level ipad still only uses 2 or 3GB of RAM. Suffice to say, there would need to be a significant escalation in use cases and specifications of Apple hardware for them to shift the 2GB minimum currently in place to 3 or 4GB while not shafting huge numbers of apple customers who only just recently (less than 2 years) purchased apple products expecting at least 3 or 4 years of updates( shortest ever was first iphone at 3 years). After market screen and battery replacements for the 8/Plus can be had for around 20-30 USD, including upgraded versions compared to the original stock. Stock battery is 2600 and you can find batteries on amazon around 3600-4000Mah. Screens, currently about same as stock, although some newer ones are apparently more energy efficient and can get brighter than the original. Likewise you can get worse screens than stock. 8 Plus all the way.

I was an android user my whole life. This year I tried iOS and I fell in love with it.
I tried ios and android but android is the best for me

iPhone 8 Plus is made with space grade aluminum components. iPhone SE is a knock off cheap, budget phone with cheap parts.

It would’ve been nice if they would’ve made the se 2020 full screen with a home button. The screen is so little.
Se 2020 is far better than 8+because its run by A13 bionic chipset which we have seen in iphone 11 and camera also far better than 8+ it is because of processor, only se lack in screen n battery backup ,, and raised se far better in anyway

8 Plus is better in literally every way.
Bigger Better Screen.
3D Touch.
Better Camera.
Better Battery life.
Cheaper.
Regarding updates, both phones have 3GB of RAM if I am not mistaken, both also uses the more modern AXX - Bionic Apple chips, so their software updates should actually be identical. RAM plays a bigger part in iOS updates over time than the chip, all of these have been quite overpowered for what they need to do for a few years now going back to the 6s/7 for everything not counting casual use. There are Ipads from 2014 on iOS 15. When apple decides to move to 4GB RAM minimums for iOS...thats when anything short of the Ipad Air 4, Ipad Mini 6, Ipad Pro 2017 and Iphone 11 will cease to be updated. Mind you the base level ipad still only uses 2 or 3GB of RAM. Suffice to say, there would need to be a significant escalation in use cases and specifications of Apple hardware for them to shift the 2GB minimum currently in place to 3 or 4GB while not shafting huge numbers of apple customers who only just recently (less than 2 years) purchased apple products expecting at least 3 or 4 years of updates( shortest ever was first iphone at 3 years).
After market screen and battery replacements for the 8/Plus can be had for around 20-30 USD, including upgraded versions compared to the original stock.
Stock battery is 2600 and you can find batteries on amazon around 3600-4000Mah. Screens, currently about same as stock, although some newer ones are apparently more energy efficient and can get brighter than the original. Likewise you can get worse screens than stock.
