  • Hi!
No music. No talking. Just work.
If you are taking your DELL VOSTRO 1500 laptop apart be careful and wear an anti-static wrist band or use other anti-static device. If you need to change a LCD usually you don't have to take screen out of a laptop. You can leave it on a laptop and watch the last part of the video where I am taking LCD apart. If you need to change a keyboard, you don't have to take all bottom screws out. There are usually some marks, like a keyboard picture, on a case bottom. If you need to put a laptop back to work be aware of screws. They are different and you better remember or mark them somehow to insure that you will put them back in to a right place.
Some laptops I take apart first time, so don't be serious on my time and performance.
If something got broken - ooops, it's your fault.
Believe me, some parts in your laptop are already broken, you just don't see that.
So, just watch this video and fix your laptop.
    Have fun and good luck!!

This video is still useful for me. I refer to it every time I need to do any kind of maintenance to my laptop. Thank you very much.

Good video, but not a good idea to keep the cordless screwdriver running before the tip is inserted into the head of the screw. A couple of times you can hear the top of the screw getting ground up by the fast spinning cordless screwdriver.

You arrived at this video because of my tags, the main purpose of this video is to show how to take apart. All the way. So, basically you can see how to take it apart or just look the way you need to go to get to your fan/lcd/cpu etc.
The place where you connect a fan cable is located on "top" of the motherboard, so you don't need a flip motherboard to disconnect it. The only problem is that cable by it self goes under motherboard and you may need to lift a motherboard a little to remove it.

Blimey, I have one of these machines running Windows XP as a gaming laptop.
Thought I'd do some upgrades; swap out the hard drive for a 2.5 inch SSD, and max the Ram out, both of which seem easily doable.. however thought I'd also scrape off the old thermal paste and apply new, but getting there seems a nightmare! Not that comfortable dissembling a laptop quite that far personally. Awesome video nonetheless. :)

First of all, do not worry about your hard drive, it is for sure OK.
Does laptop starts without battery, but plugged in?

Does laptop work without charger? Battery charging? Does laptop works without charger?
You should start with an easy part. Try out another charger for that laptop that is working and see what happen.
It will be a problem to find this type of charger.

regazzz Thank you so much for the video.
I have a little problem here with Dell vostro 1500. At start up, it says "No hard disk detected".
After I did some online research, I found out that the root cause of the problem could be the connection of the motherboard is loose with hard disk.
Can you guide me how to check that? Which part of this video ? Thanks a lot

At minute 2:27, when you dissamble the piece of plastic that it's from the keyboard from the inside of computer, is that possible to assamble again once you dissambled? Because I've done it and it's getting really hard to assamble again.

The government is using backdoors while connected to WI-fi to destroy peoples computers. They've done it twice to me. Both within a few months. When I took them to the shop, one motherboard was fried and the other had the hard drive entirely erased before shutting it down. Both were attacked while on public WI-fi at the local library. It is the F.B.I. that is doing it. The F.B.I. is a criminal organization.
