I’m 100% behind this man. Looking forward to seeing what you put together under your new platform. I wanna hear more of your fully fleshed out ideas & arrangements cuz they’re f*%$in amazing!!
Drastic changes are always needed in order to stay on the right perspective and pursue the meaningful things in life. And it's good that everybody is well informed about your thought. You have my support, bro..
this is awesome dude, you have one of my favorite playing styles, atleast from what ive seen in your videos. i’ll definitely be following jasper and im excited to see whats to come! best of luck
(1:40 this is so real). Never been a MASSIVE fan, but MASSIVE Respect for trying to do your own thing. Good luck bro, i believe in you. If you want to do something you just gotta believe. o7 You got this. Surely we'll see you on tour some time!
Respect for owning your own creative brand mate, it's sometimes a lesson people learn too late, but you're a smart dude who is gonna go far whether that continues to be in the music/guitar realm or something else. I've subscribed to your new channel, I'm sure regardless of where the inspiration comes from the music you put out will be great :P. I've got a few guitar friends who I've pointed to this channel before and they all agree you're doing licks they could never do by your age lol.
You are the most impressive guitarist that I've ever came across on youtube. Following for the new project and looking forward to hearing what comes next.
I totally get not wanting to get boxed into a plethora of different labels and identities belonging to so many others, ultimately you're insanely talented and whatever you enjoy doing will still be sick as, and it's categorically more important you're being yourself and having fun. Do your thing king 👑
Hey man, always enjoyed watching your videos and listening to your music. Do what you think is best and dont let anyone pressure you! Excited to see you on your new channel ❤
Hey the fans still win with new music so I’m on board. It seems like you’ve got a plan but as long as you’re genuinely making exactly what you want to make, you should do just fine. Best wishes dude. Rock on
Good luck vro! You’re a great musician and a great friend! And your voice is so fucking good dude the vocals on the MGC3 and on LBI are literally angelic. Your style is great for Dariacore/Hyperpop and I’m glad to see you following your passion. Tim Henson helps introduce people to this scene sure, but everyone is their own person, you just have to make a name for yourself and find a style. I believe you’ve found your style you just have to execute it in a “Jasperr” way iykwim. I love your music, I love being able to talk to you, and I want to thank you for helping me want to differentiate myself as well. I still love trap beats, I still might use nylon guitar, but I want to use those to my advantage instead of being a copycat. (I’ll still do Polyphia covers though, they’re fun riffs to play what can I say.)
i’m gonna be honest with you, i still don’t know what finger scaling is lol. you always complimented my finger scaling these past years but i never knew what you meant haha
It's really cool that you're trying to carve a sound for yourself without being just the Polyphia style guy, but if you think the sound of the song calls for a certain Henson-like sound and that's what you think sounds good, I think that's what matters the most. Finding your own sound is very hard and takes time and isn't a linear process. But sounding completely unique is something that just comes naturally and you can never be 100% unique and separate from your inspirations. I've always enjoyed your content, both the Polyphia-inspired and not and I'm excited to see your new path.
thought this was gonna be a song and then got hit with the sads can't be too sad though, really looking forward to your future stuff, you're mega talented
I’m proud of you buddy! I’ve been saying for years that modern guitar has pivoted to just cloning Tim Henson it’s super hard to sound original because everything has been done but if anyone can do it you can
Even despite what you said, to me it still seems like a mistake to sink a ship in order to sail in a different direction. I think about pewdiepie a few years back, when he stopped being a gaming channel and more of a variety/meme channel and his audience grew bigger than anyone imagined at the time. Sure, turning course will make you lose some fans but you will also gain new fans. Same with life, you can't keep the same friends forever. It's difficult to strike a balance between what you want to express and what people like, but I think it's a good idea to try to impress people you want to impress and make things that you like. I think the rebranding is unnecessary. Do cool things, if people don't like them then shake the dust off your sandals and continue on and on the way you can refine your skills (for example vocals) and eventually become a master and a trailblazer.
idk i just want to it feels good to have a fresh start especially cos it’s gonna be pretty different to what i make now. plus i’ll still use this channel for guitar stuff it’s not like i’m abandoning it. i don’t think it’ll take long to get back to where i was in terms of views and surpass this channel, maybe 1, 2 years at most
Yea thats nice. I dont know exectly what you mean about your own songs, do you mean something like Lie by Inclusion or something like the one really famous video just with like singing kinda like Lie by Inclusion. Something like that would be great. I really like your Videos. Dont rush everything, if it takes longer to make thats completly ok. I would appreciate if you could make some guitar tutorials😅Thanks. See you on Jasper
the issue with a rebrand right now is that you are not solid in your numbers, you just went viral and have an opportunity to flex this and still go forward, making everything a brand and not just doing what you think sounds cool is going to end up being bizzare, If you want to tour, the music needs to be producable in a live context, so maybe scaling back some processing is a good idea, but cutting your hair and changing to be this new artist is going to innevitablly put you in a category of some other artist that people will draw parallells between, and you have to understand that in the world of creation, it is not blasphemous to be inspired, nor to mimic, nothing truely new under the sun, and you need to consider that new channels don't just automatically blow up because you are the creator, its an alg game, and based on the follower counts, you are going to be struggling to have another youtuber moment, maybe even a good time to haiatus and take a minute to figure out what you are trying to inspire in an audience, or if you just want money, what is the long game, because people can say anything they want, but you are the one who has to lay in the bed with "James" or "Jasperr" doesn't matter.
and like i said i'm not abandoning this, the numbers i've gained so far are decent. But I think you're wrong about a new project not having the potential to blow up, just because I'm making it. Success on the internet is high quality + unique + consitency + visuals + marketing + luck. Notice how only one those success factors was luck? If you know what you're doing and how to market yourself, then it's very possible to find deliberate success through hard work. Alot of people fall into the trap of thinking internet success come 100% from luck but that's not the case at all.
Bro, your vocals are perfect for where you're at. Your production and guitars are just refined to a different level that dickholes can't deal. Don't let the criticism shake you off the the path that you are on, cause it's unique and pretty interesting. You're clearly talented and driven enough so..... from someone who has released a lot of cringey music in the past and also a youtube dickhole, work on your lyrics a bit and develop a better visual aesthetic for your music videos. Excited to watch your journey 🤌
that’s awesome. I’ll check it out for sure. This channel has been a good run
I’m 100% behind this man. Looking forward to seeing what you put together under your new platform. I wanna hear more of your fully fleshed out ideas & arrangements cuz they’re f*%$in amazing!!

I think you’re heading in the right direction James. You are evolving just like a great artist is supposed to. Looking forward to hearing some Jasper.
Drastic changes are always needed in order to stay on the right perspective and pursue the meaningful things in life. And it's good that everybody is well informed about your thought. You have my support, bro..

I forget who said it, but learning how to sound like yourself is one of the hardest things! harder than any technique or song.
good luck.

why jasper? what did u choose that for?
i like the name
but lie by inclusion was literally peak??????
agreed, that's why i'm focusing on making more shi similar to that instead of guitar covers and instrumental things
Should’ve called it big t gremlin

Good luck on your new journey, kiwi-guy.
