I’d look at this one more as a “life support” state. It’ll maintain the player base, but not add to it. It’ll hold the line until characters come out that will really get eyes on the game again

2:35 One hundred percent this. I never understood why people wanted ranked immediately when the game hadnt been completely balanced and xbox players couldnt even play the game
The fact that they RE-RELEASED, the game with the same characters unbalanced that were present in the beta, is a problem in itself. The game should have been balanced if they listened to anything the community said during beta. The same characters, besides new ones like Jason and joker, were already unbalanced. There is no excuse that a game RE-RELEASED, with less content and more monetization schemes than the beta. If this was a new new game cool, I could understand growing pains, but not ok for a game that already should have a blue print of what it wants from its community and what the community has asked for.

@@The_WIll_OF_D99 They JUST tried to rebalance it with this patch, which if you just read the patch notes that just released, isn't the best rebalance. They are still trying to figure it out after re-release. And no, people are not insane, what's insane is people making excuses for game companies half assing their games and being ok with it. Maybe your to young, but once upon a time, long ago, games released as full functional playable games, with actual content attached. You didn't have to wait for patches and you certainly didn't have games being RE-RELEASED, in the same broken state that caused the game to be pulled in the first place. I don't understand why for the life of me game companies get away with this but no other part in life, would people be ok with somebody doing half service.

Such as fighting games they have been the weakest back then. They are far better now than 2000's or even in the 90's.
Plus that's such a stupid response when games have MUCH MORE Content now than back then. A lot of games come to the price you can justify is premium. Some games don't hit that metric YES that is an issue but now all games follow that. Especially this game IS FREE TO PLAY

Why do people think this game is dead when matchmaking takes 4 seconds and I always seem to match with new different people? I've played dead games (here's looking at you Dissidia NT) and this doesn't feel dead at all.

Spectating mode is for RUclipsrs us regular people don’t care about that they got other things they could be focused on the spectator mode to be honest like end game stat’s more characters that ppl actually want not agent Smith lol

dawg i keep trying to play this game on ps4 but more than half the time it can't connect or somepne always disconnects from the game
FFA kills means certain characters like shaggy (bruisers) will just dominate. Sounds like a terrible idea.
The progression bring unplayable is what handicaps the game if that's the number one thing that needs to be fixed

City of Townsville should be banned. Should be allowed to choose Competitive stages. Stages without walls or bombs

I agree heavy on the character picks, literally EVERYBODY wants more Cartoon Network characters, Ben 10, Samurai Jack, Mordecai and Rigby, Gumball And Darwin, Amethyst, etc. Even characters like Daffy and whatnot would be amazing, they really gotta lock in with upcoming characters.
We already got ranked it's called skill based matchmaking it's too strong
I just want QoL changes and them to change the monetization model. I love the slower gameplay, but even after I spent $100 on this game, it feels like it's still trying to rob me at gunpoint.

@@The_WIll_OF_D99 No way there's any top player in a 1 month old game with this many balance issues 💀 that's a joke. I've played fighters for 20 yrs tho, so I do have a lot of legacy skill. Would not play this game for money currently 😂
P.S. I just looked up the top players, they're all using top tiers. The #1 guy is using Joker. Lack of real diversity doesn't speak highly to a games balance, like 6 out of 8 Bobs in Tekken 6 EVO Top 8 lmao. Hopefully these patches are a step in the right direction

"Picking a Top tier" is common. No matter how much a game gets "balanced" there will be some better and people who wanna win will play them for that reason. It is what it is.
Like you mentioned Tekken...BRO many people played Leroy because he was Broken. Dragon Ball FighterZ...Everyone played nearly the same team or had 1 Key character because they were broken. Don't get me started on Marvel 2 or 3 or infinite. It's inevitable.
The main important thing is bridging the Gap so every other character has a better chance of beating them. Or be within the same ballpark.
I also hope these patches are the step in the right direction.
@@The_WIll_OF_D99 I agree that there will always be usage of top tiers in pro play, but there should be more characters that can "keep up" so that even pros can express themselves with characters choice diversity like Tekken 7 or SSBU currently. The reason Tag 2 was so beloved was because you could almost identify a pro by their team, it showed identity and expression, but most importantly... Balance.
I competed for 10 yrs in fighters and I've always been drawn to big bodies, usually not great characters but they matched my play style. Melee Ganon, Tekken 7 Gigas, PSASBR Sweet Tooth, SF Huge, SF6 Marisa, DNF Duel Crusader, MKX Kotal Khan, GG Strive Potemkin, etc. They weren't the strongest, but it didn't feel impossible sometimes like it does with Jason currently. But we will see later on today

Sign up I hella respect the characters you play except one crusader was undoubtedly good if not broken in a lot of the games lifespan.
He had unbelievable kill power unbelievable pressure and crazy control. The stuff I've seen this guy do is insane. It's not like Marissa or zangief or even Gannon (who I also play 🔥🫂)
But even that aside and I do hope that balances take that approach I don't disagree with you I 100% agree with you about that. Play creativity and all that stuff. I'm looking forward to the patch today especially the stuff they did to my main Bugs Bunny.
