During his appearance on NewsOne Now, the 84-year-old criticized the 2016 electoral cycle: “Anytime you got to vote for the lesser of two evils you’re evil yourself - that’s how Hitler came to power.”

Patricia McGowan I believe mr. Gregory has lost his death. The only thing I heard him suggest was that there's nothing we can do we should just basically laid down and accepted and it's all over. I'm not with that kind of Jim Jones type of thinking. As long as I got breath in my head reaches the sky there is something I can do. I'm not willing to be a passive victim as mr. Gregory suggest. but hey if that's how you want to go out then go that way. Just trying to stop trying to convince others to be victim just as yourself and him. But what I got out of that was he's saying there's nothing you can do to change the system no matter what you think of or try to do because it's already designed to go how it's designed no matter the people's voices/opinions. This is absurd. What you are attempting to do is mitigate the damage that will be done if you don't vote this increases the likely hood that the fascist, racist, psychopath wins the election. Gil Scott Heron said in his song "Delta Man" , "since change is inevitable, we should direct the change
rather than simply continue to go through the change..." voting is directing the change rather than simply continuing to go through the change. Its not a perfect system by any means, the electoral college needs to be dismantled and popular vote is what should determine who wins the presidential election and not some antiquated system designed to give slave states disproportionate voting power.

I saved the paper when I found out mr Gregory passed away. 3 years ago, I’m 33 and Hispanic and I tell my peers and younger people some of his points of view because he is spot on.
