So how do you import .stp files? I've got a HUGE (1.6 million sq ft) warehouse to produce. If I'm programming on the fly I'll never leave work.

My company has an A400. Importing comes with the SE version of the software. It's almost an automatic process for .dxf files. There is a small amount of post import configuration but it's mostly identifying material and cut/miter locations,( which has an auto function that mostly works wonders but I double check anyway) not to mention jobs and production parts can be saved and run automatically later. It's really an amazing machine but even if you don't have one the sofware do wonders in a production setting with bend point measurements and coping cut wrappers. But to answer your question I would imagine a .step file would import about the same as a .dxf file. So minimal post import input.
