In a variety show, Seokjin said that he and the other members have told Jungkook to speak more casually but he said he doesn't do it. He said Jungkook is really polite but his actions are the opposite lmao Then Jk agreed and proceeded to hit Jin's neck lol
I might be wrong but didn't he also tell Taehyung in ITS1 that even though Tae had asked him to use casual speech to him when they were trainees he decided not to? I vaguely remember him implying that he liked to sort of inbuilt politeness of the speech, that they would have fought a lot more if he'd have had the "license" to be more casual
Jungkook is extremely polite… and known for it… our bowing fairy lol he def speaks to them casually… BTS are like brothers to him… but outside of family… he’s one of the most well mannered members
Jungkook is an excellent observer, and a REALLY good mimic. You can see him watching and copying his hyungs a lot... not in a mean way, just that when he sees something that interests or amuses him, and he tries it out. You should hear him do Yoongi's dad, it's hilarious. :D
This is one of his funniest quirks, how he mimics everyone. There's a clip somewhere out there of him and Jin bickering, and Junkook starts imitating Jins mannerisms and tone, and it is too accurate. For some reason, watching this video, I also thought of how he one time was mimicking that rooster... dude is silly
as an artistic person i’m totally not surprised that jungkook’s handwriting is constantly changing, my handwriting will change depending on my mood, letter subject, and it can even change styles within the same letter LOL
does this also apply on "depending on the paper and pen" you're using?I mean, is that counted as being artistic? 😂😂 I'm the only one in the family who can't draw or paint. I know I'm not artistic.

One thing that you’d likely not know unless you’re ARMY, but Jungkook is one of the members most connected to the fandom. So when he speaks to us on lives, he’s very aware of us watchers from across the globe. He’s very considerate, and I think that shows in his speaking. He even tries his hardest to include some English as much as he can (even though he doesn’t need to). Same with his writing; the simplistic letter you showed was to ARMY, and he will have wanted it to be as easy to read as possible. He also speaks less than others because he’s the most introverted in the group. Get him on his own though, and he will literally talk to us for hours. Or sing. Or cook. Or watch Netflix 😂
@@ha-eun2004 JK is a huge introvert! I don’t know how you don’t see that. He never wants to take the mic at awards ceremonies, gets shy around the press, has said himself he’s an introvert l, and his mbti type came out as INTP when they did it on RUclips last year. Jin, JK & Yoongi are all introverted. Just because he can be goofy with ARMYs, doesn’t mean he’s not shy.
Oh no! Not jin too? @@ha-eun2004 there’s a difference between performing as an artist, and being actually outgoing. You can put on a persona on stage when you’re acting or singing. Introversion had nothing to do with that, it’s about how your social battery reacts to social situations, and how you react as yourself. It’s not just about being painfully shy. You’re only thinking of the obvious side. Like I said, both Jin & Jungkook THEMSELVES have stated that they are introverts. The extroverts of BTS are Jimin, & Namjoon, while Hobi & Tae are ambiverts. I'm sad this series is over, I've enjoyed it so much! Jungkook is an amazing mimic - he mimics everything all the time. If you watch him watching a performance he'll often be doing micro versions of the choreography. It's like he's always thinking "okay, now how do I do that?" and helps explain why he's so good at everything. And he does it for fun too 😁 I think finding his own voice took him a while - he's shy, but also surrounded by strong personalities and good speakers. He used to just run away from the mic 😂 these days he's more comfortable, but I do think he finds expressing himself in words more difficult than some of the others do. He's very quick when he's being a goofball or mimicking someone, and much slower when he's expressing his own sincere thoughts. I don't think he's unintelligent (at all), just that words aren't always easy for him. It's one of the ways he matches well with V - both of them have more inside their heads than they're necessarily able to put into words. 😅
There's so many funny things about Junkook's personality that you've run across. How he tends to be really quiet and circumspect in group interviews, but if you watch him, he will frequently be doing weird things at that moment - like making faces or looking around... and the way he knows memes and references and is always trying to turn group moments into memes... and how he is a notorious mimic in the group. The guy cracks me up and seems genuinely cool.
Jung Kook also creates his own contractions and slang all the time. Examples being 아포방포 (ARMY forever, Bangtan forever) and 아무행알 (ARMY has to be happy no matter what, ok?) 💜
Jungkook and Jin is the easiest to understand (I have to agree on this as someone who is studying Hangul). The other members Jimin and Taehyung are good if you want to learn more in a polite way. RM is the hardest because sometimes his words tend to be more idiomatic while Hobi is mid to hard level because he talks so fast and sometimes with a dialect (& sometimes things extra cutely) while Yoongi... Sometimes I can't really understand him his Korean is like expert level to SSS level.
I read somewhere a few years ago that Jungkook intentionally changed his handwriting into a more simple one whenever he writes something for us armys to read so that foreign armys (that learn Korean language) can easily read it. 🥰🐰💜
I think Jungkook tends to write “neatly” per say when it comes to letters to army in merch packages like the first example you showed! Of course I can’t be 100% sure but that’s what it seems from what I’ve seen!
6:00 is very thoughtful, especially with ARMY. I think he wrote like this for us who will translate and try to learn Hangul. Also to give the best handwriting he could.
I wouldn’t say Jungkook is always on the internet or his phone, he’s said before he doesn’t like it, he eliminated his instagram account, he says he doesn’t like calling or texting, bts have said he takes longer to text back on the group chat… he’s an introvert at heart and I think the members and his friends show him videos of what’s trending, I also think Jungkook comes off more as a millennial because he spends so much time with bts 🤣💜
The impression I get is that he spends a fair amount of time online, watches a lot of videos, and knows about the latest tends. However, like a lot of introverts, a little social interaction goes a long way when it comes to texting, phone calls, or sm. He’s an online observer, rather than a frequent poster, and he prefers live-streaming when he wants to socialize with ARMY, and in-person visits when he wants to talk to the members.
in one of his latest lives he thanked fans who translate his lives simultaneously ! i think his slower pace has also something to do with wanting to make it easier for the translators :') love this video ! i smiled at your recommendation for learners to use it as practice, i do that ! 오늘도 좋은영상 만들어주셔서 감사합니다

He’s quiet bc he’s an introvert who is an observer… he didn’t used to over share but he has been a bit lately lol I love it
Thank you! I really enjoyed this episode. Jungkook is so funny and luckily his humour goes beyond language in some cases. Still learning Korean but I agree that he is the easiest to understand.
I think he could make a great teacher, I feel like he could do certain things by purpose-perhaps slowing things down or writing simplistically so his fans who are also a beginner can understand. He kinda in a sense wants to make us feel connected even his mother tongue, like not create a whole barrier where it is really hard to interpret or difficult to catch what he is trying to convey💜 His ability to be understanding is something I really like about him. Truly a meme king and king in our hearts.
Jungkook is my bias and when I first got into learning Korean, I watched a lot of his videos and I thought I was crazy for being able to understand him the best. This really validated my experience lol
Thank you so much for the whole series, I can't get enough of it. I love BTS and I love learning new languages, so both combined is pure gold. Jungkook likes to imitate others, that's his way of fooling around although he's an introvert, and I guess that's why he's the "king of memes". He often imitates the other members too. Let's guess he tried to imitate other way of writings along the way....
I actually understand what jungkook says even without subtitles even though i'm not really familiar with kores, i'm still a learner and i agree his way of speaking is always on point (in a way) exact so it's easy to understand him.
dJK - He is a thinker and observer, many times you can see him replicate what other members do too, like lifting his shirt as Jimin did, it's like he is giving it a test run since the response to Jimin was good. Although JK marches to his own drumbeat he does like the security of the others and they affirm him often because he has the goods and has experiences other people have not. JK was forced to grow up faster, as the others have also, but they were kind and understanding of his selfishness or greediness at the start. He is the center of BTS member's universe and they dote on him which is okay. I like how they are always loving on him and encouraging him as the ultimate younger brother. Even Suga making him sit down and work on Stay Alive music and lyrics... was really sweet. He will spread his wings and fly soon enough but for now, he is still a boy/man and he is growing through every conflict, I can see it. So he does speak precisely so as to not say the wrong words which he learned from RM.
선생님! BTS has a lot of “Learn Korean” products and I think it’d be a cool video if you reviewed some of them! As a learner who loves BTS, I’ve considered buying them but it’d be awesome to hear what a Korean teacher thinks of them :) 감사합니다!!
I wonder if he changes his writing for the circumstance? Like very clean for ARMY- making it easier to translate vs writing to his members. He’s a very compassionate and empathetic person, who truly wants to communicate with people all over 💜 thank you so much for this series! I have loved getting your view on all 7 members individually. Can’t wait to keep learning with you!
It is true... Jungkook prefers using music and action (not just gestures but what he does in general) to express himself more than words themselves. He also tends to use a lot of sounds almost like an onomatopoeia which sounds very funny! Loved the series 💜
Thanks so much for doing this series, Billy!! I really appreciated how much research you did and how kind you were about the members. As an army, I'm always eager to know more about them, and these videos were something I couldn't get anywhere else!
Yes that's true #Jungkook is the king of vocal , king of k-pop & global pop music industry . he deserve all achievement because he is the best . ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I started learning Korean about 6 months ago. I absolutely find that I catch more words when Jungkook is speaking vs other members. The more I learn the more words I’ll recognize and I noticed when you wrote out the subtitles and read them even slower I knew most of the words he was using I just had trouble catching them all quick enough to understand it fully. Not too bad for only 200 days of learning. 😂
Thank you, Billy, for making this wonderful series. I’m a big BTS fan. I started watching your channel to learn Korean so I can understand what they say and their lyrics. I’m currently watching your beginner series and learning so much. Thank you for the amazing content! 😊 💜
Jk is an artist, not just in the KPop sense, but of course that. He is also artistic in mindset. Personality. His ability to paint and draw is kind of legendary. So I know nothing of Korean culture or penmanship…..but I could argue to interpret his different actual penmanship as him playing with the actual artistry of the written word or letter/character. Like he might be experiencing it as a work of art…if that makes sense. Not from an egoistic thing, not performing,, but he seems to be an artistic explorer, and penmanship might just be another medium for that.
Billy! My Korean teacher and I watch your videos together and she is taking me through your course. We are going through it together so she can help me learn and pronounce words correctly because it can be difficult. Thank you for doing what you do! She’s Korean and vetted your teachings and said YES this guy knows what he’s talking about ❤️ just wanted or tell you how much we appreciate you!
Thank you for making this BTS series!! I really enjoyed it. 💜 It's true that you can understand as a beginner Jungkook the most. I wouldn't say I'm learning Korean because I stopped after learning how to read hangul and learning some words YEARS ago lool but still, I can understand without subtitles some things that Jungkook is saying compared to other members like Namjoon. Jk speaks really calm and with short phrases like you said and he also stutters a lot and I think it's so cute Anyway, I didn't notice he changed the way he writes that much lmao
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. Thank you so much for making them. I seem to recall Jungkook thought his handwriting was messy and he practiced writing more neatly because he felt that as Idol he shouldn't set a bad example to the fans. I think it would be a great conclusion to this series to finish with BTS's satoori song Paldogangsan (팔도강산).
hello billy! i have been enjoying this series so much & it gave me so much insight on the members & their personalities. i’m not sure if you’re taking more requests, but there’s a girl group from cube entertainment named (g)i-dle that has 3 foreign members. minnie is from thailand, yuqi is from china, & shuhua is from taiwan. a lot of native speakers say that minnie & yuqi speak korean so well, they sound like they’re native. shuhua is said to have a baby-like speech that a lot of people find really unique & cute. i would be interested to see if you could do an analysis video of their korean, as i’m very curious of a foreigner’s take of korean being an idol. thank you! ❤
Such a good analysis once again! I enjoy watching Jungkook's long a$$ livestreams so much because of his singing of course but also because i can actually follow what he says most of the time!
I thought his little little stutters and lisp would be mentioned since he tends to also do that 🤣 but ig thats not something that needs to be mentioned in a speech episode. Since it's more of a habit or something like that. Still, this episode was very good!! I've been waiting for it 😩. Jungkook always sounded the cutest to me even the way he speaks. Even though idk korean.
In one of Jk's recent lives, he mentioned that he didn't get to study alot when he was growing up. He even said if he had to go back in time, he'll absolutely learn Korean & English better. So i think his slower pace "might" be bcos he's not a super expert in the language. Like u said, he does stay in his head alot, I noticed that in his Live sessions. He'd think and then when he speaks, he'll try to make sure it came out right😂 Oh Kookie bear is such a cutie💜. I just started learning korean, can't wait to be able to understand what he says.
With his writing, I think back in 2016 he said he started to change it to make it neater. So the jimin postcard was prior to that and the first letter you showed is how he writes now!
ah my writing my in my native language also flanctualtes a lot, usually it depends on my mood. while i do have a writing style that is the most casual for me, i also just love to play around with it
I LOVE when he says what sounds like “chincha” lol and LOVE when he’s speaking busan dialect … it sounds so good… jungkook has absolute perfect pitch… he hears music and sounds on ways where he can replicate it identically right away…. So he probably picks up a lot of the dialect from dramas and stuff.
Thank you so much for making this pretty daunting subject more easy to learn! You're the best! One video subject I was hoping you may consider in future is dialects but also how they're accepted in Korean media (or not, as the case sometimes seems to be); an example of what I mean is sometimes in Run BTS episodes, the subtitles make fun of when they slip into their regional dialect. I wonder whether standard Korean is more widely accepted and preferred? Or is there some kind of negative judgment if one uses regional dialects? Thank you 💜
Thank you sooo much for this series!!! I've said all along that I've found it both entertaining and informative all at once. It's good to know that I can listen to Jungkook for practice as a beginner and RM once I advance. JIN, Suga, JHope, Jimin, and V would be more of an intermediate level, I guess. I don't know how much you have listened to BTS before doing this series, but you have great knowledge of each member based on how they speak and write. Please stop saying that you're not fluent in Korean. I understand the disclaimer, but you're just as good as a native Korean speaker. This is just my opinion, but I'm sure others will agree with me.
I'm fluent and I can say pretty much whatever I want (not 100% but good enough). But fluency =/= native level. That's what I mean when I say I'm not perfect. Any native speaker would still know Korean better than me because I simply wasn't raised speaking Korean. I'm also a Korean learner at the same time and am still learning new words every day.
Thank you so much for this series!! It was really fun and informative to see the little habits each member has when speaking Korean and I really appreciate the effort you put in to making these videos (I’m sure there was hours and hours of content to comb through for examples of each member) it gave me an even greater love for the Korean language and made me want to study harder 🙌🙌🙌 thank you Billy쌤!!!
This was such a fun series! Thank you for making it! I also loved the videos you made a couple years ago analyzing non-native idols' Korean. I wonder if the influence goes the other way too, like if learning English changes the way a native Korean speaker speaks Korean. It could be interesting to look at for a future video or series! (And a good excuse to talk about Namjoon some more hehe )💜
I don't know much about Patreon but I bought the first two of your books! Thanks for reaching me the Korean alphabet and so far I know how to say I like basketball 🤣 #gettingthere
Have you ever listened to any of their songs I'm thinking especially Paldogangsan (Satoori Rap), Ma City and Arirang and Urgh and Ddaeng would love to see your reaction to them being a Korean speaker but not a native and seeing how JK talked about being raised by BTS JK's solo song Begin, there are also explained by a Korean for some of those songs
Members asked him to talk in banmal but he refuse. "He said that that would be weird for him" And speak the less cuz he is pretty shy and sometimes thinks (this was said by him) that his hyungs said everything.

Jungkook is my bias and when I first got into learning Korean, I watched a lot of his videos and I thought I was crazy for being able to understand him the best. This really validated my experience lol
6:33 JK's letters to army are clean like the for strugglers like us to be able to read 😂😂😂.
For Jimin he knew he would understand 😂.
JUNGKOOK ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
dJK - He is a thinker and observer, many times you can see him replicate what other members do too, like lifting his shirt as Jimin did, it's like he is giving it a test run since the response to Jimin was good.
Been waiting for JK’s episode
선생님! BTS has a lot of “Learn Korean” products and I think it’d be a cool video if you reviewed some of them! As a learner who loves BTS, I’ve considered buying them but it’d be awesome to hear what a Korean teacher thinks of them :) 감사합니다!!
Oh! I’d really appreciate a video like that as well!
Great idea! 👍🏼 I have some of these products on my wishlist, but don’t know if they are good (apart from fangirling about it obviously 😅)
Referencing Ryan George's videos is tight! Thanks for the series!
I love Jungkook 💜
12:26 I see what you did there. That was TIGHT!
Oh REALLY?
17:03 the dead look in his eyes😂 I love hearing him speak dialect in a joking way
Thank you, Billy, for making this wonderful series.
Jk speaks really calm and with short phrases like you said and he also stutters a lot and I think it's so cute
Anyway, I didn't notice he changed the way he writes that much lmao
My favorite ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ jungkook & jin
6:00 How jungkook the center of BTS thoughtful!!
humble king, kind person.
Thank you so much for the this video about my precious JK 💜
Thanks! I really hoped you would speak about his lisp, it’s so cute!
JuNg kookieee 🔥🔥💜💜💜💜💜
Thank you for going through so much effort to analyse all members!! It’s been such an interesting insight! 💜
I loved this series very much. It was insightful and inspired to keep trying to understand.
I’ve been waiting for Jungkook’s episode ❤️ I’m so happy!
I wish you spoke about his speaking and writing in a cute way !
Youuuhou🎉 I was waiting for this video
I've been waiting for this!!
Interesting, thank you very much for the episode!
Thank you for this. The whole series is so fun!!
This series was honestly amazing. Thank you so much!
Thank you 💜
I absolutely loved this series I was looking forward to each episode!
Billy, I absolutely ADORED this series. i'd love if you do more in this fashion.
THANK YOU FOR THIS SERIES. we enjoyed it a lot!!!!
I really enjoyed watching this series and here is a big THANK YOU for putting all that effort and time into making it ❤
jungkook is my bias :3
Thanks so much for the series! I've been enjoying it😊
These bts analysis videos give me life. Thank you for making these!!
Mmmmm…. I wonder how better Jungkook would feel seeing a Korean teacher relate to beyond certain of their handwriting. 🤔🤭😄🙂
I don't know much about Patreon but I bought the first two of your books! Thanks for reaching me the Korean alphabet and so far I know how to say I like basketball 🤣 #gettingthere
Thank you for making this BTS series. Love all the videos! As an ARMY and as a Korean learner. Appreciated!
Loved this series! Would absolutely love to see more either on BTS or on other groups.
Massive thank you for this incredible series Billy, I looked forward to every single episode and loved every minute. 💜💜💜
Members asked him to talk in banmal but he refuse. "He said that that would be weird for him"
And speak the less cuz he is pretty shy and sometimes thinks (this was said by him) that his hyungs said everything.
Bro, I've been WAITING for this one since you started this series!💜💜💜
i've been waiting for this one! 😁
wow what a great series! you’re a great teacher and i’m really happy to have found your channel through this series. this is really funny and informative💜감사합디나 선생님!

i have a good excuse to re-watch his lives now 😊 this series has been great! thank you.
I really did enjoy this series! Thank you for that 🙂
Could you please do SHINEE next?? 🙏
I loved this whole series! And it's so fascinating to know that Jung Kook's speaking could be something to learn from. Thank you so much for doing this; I definitely learned a lot! :)
빌리 안녕하세요
Thank you for this wonderful series. I really enjoyed watching your take on all of our 7 guys. 💜
Wow Billy! thanks to you and this whole series, worldwide fans are getting a much clearer picture of the favour members. 💕💕

Jungkook is amazing person that admire very well by most of people. God Bless you
I love this series! Thank you so, so, so much for working on it and giving us all 7! One question - Is that JK at 18:58? It looks like a young Kim Jong Min. LOL
