      Hey just something that might help a ton as well, if it’s doable…. I played on PS4 for about 3 years, and then finally saved up for a gaming computer and it really did make a world of difference. There’s a lot of touches you were just off on and that could be mechanics, but I swear when I went to PC those were the same touches I had problems with and they were almost immediately gone when I got my PC! Just something to think about!

      Hey, if you do need to practice fast aerials, a good drill I saw was going to freeplay on standard boost, picking up a single pad, and boosting to the ceiling and getting your wheels on the ceiling. It’s a grifflicious video titled something like, “need boost.” If you’re doing your fast aerial correctly, you’ll be able to get all wheels on the ceiling with 45 boost. It helped me a lot. You can also go above the crossbar with twelve. There’s an entire warmup drill I do to work on aerials and other recoveries. It’s an easy 5-10 minute warmup. GLHF

    I feel like a massive tip for alot of players who feel like they are behind mechanically is to consciously pay attention to where your nose is pointing too. Massive but underrated part of aerial control. Make sure it's pointing directly where you want to go, just like they taught you in swim class ❤

    This was very rich... definitely one to watch a couple of times. Thanks, Jack!
    Also, you often mention but didn't so much in this one: holding your 2nd jump as long as you are able also gives you more options in that you can dodge or wave-dash if necessary, depending on conditions. If'n you snap both jumps at the start, you lose these options.

    This was a great analysis! I think I'm in a very similar position to the player. I'm in my mid 30s, been on the edge of GC for multiple seasons (hit GC last season but no rewards, currently mid C3 in 3s and 2s) and been GC in OG seasons 3 and 13 with about 3k hours. My mechanics are my struggle as well and hammering on the fast aerials will make me look at mine a lot more closely. The "first touch with top of car" is also something I hadn't considered and will be a part of my practice from now on.

    I can't wrap my head around air roll control. I've watched a bunch of air roll videos but my brain can't comprehend how to control the car in the air while its spinning and the orientation is continuously changing. I only play 2v2 with my buddy and we're hard stuck in Champ 1. Has anyone really struggled with aerial control and found something that clicked for them. I'm a RL boomer so only play a limited amount of time after work so I don't have time to grind hours a day. For a reference I have 2,700hrs in the game and I'm closer to 40 than 30 😂... Like a lot closer.

    • @abee127
      @abee127 3 месяца назад

      The brain learns through sleep, mainly, especially when you're older.
      Go into a rings map, or fly figure 8s in pillars if you're on console, and for ten minutes a day, constantly hold air roll while trying to fly through the obstacles. Do this every day for 2 weeks at least and the improvements will be massive.

      What helped for me learning is while spinning don’t move anything just stay in the air. Now look at the nose of your car, the nose of your car when facing the camera is 0. When your car is wheels facing camera it’s 180. The direction that the car moves based on your inputs doesn’t change with the rotation. Whatever direction the nose of ur car is in is your new control base. I would recommend learning to fly statically where you dont use any air roll in every orientation

      In his case it would. Cause in the video, he’s not holding his jump button down long enough.

      Id rather be shit at mechanics after thousands of hours than be shit at positioning/awareness. Mechanics are easier to learn/relearn than having good game sense. Like teaching a drummer that has no limbs coordination VS teaching a drummer with no rhythm.

      And peaked gc2, it actually sounds amazing, the only explanation I can find is, if you watch carefully even his bad touches continue to progressively move the ball around in an unpredictable way while having good positioning. All of c3 and gc1 is filled with chasers, once you get to gc2 you actually start seeing a full insight in how mechanics are used. Not just going for clips but rather using the right mech in the right circumstances to preserve possession while getting an overcommit or awkward position by the opponent to then capitalize. Im usually in the 1600s and trust me when I say, you dont need mechs to get to or through gc1, theyre just dum dum xD

      @@Eastlandlifestyle I sit between 1550-1600. Unless you've been to GC, I'm going to assume what you're actually experiencing is the chaos of Diamond and Champ lobbies, and that makes it feel more difficult, faster or intense than a GC game looks on a video. There is such a massive difference between even c3 and GC1 if you're stuck in those ranks consistently.

    I need a replay of a mechanical player around champ, cus then I can learn something. I have no clue what the reason is for me never even hitting c3 let alone gc1, my game sense is pretty good too so idk. Maybe it's challenges because I lose against less skilled opponents purely because they don't challenge like the pros i see when watching videos/replays, i'm pretty sure it's me not recognizing the ballchase tendency that's so rampant in this shitty rank and capitalizing on it by just beating em
