At 26:00 mentions generating capacity in the NEC 690 definitions, opened up my NEC 2020 book and it’s not there?
Update: It got moved to Article 100 in NEC 2020. Must be used in wind or another section as well.

At 53:00 having the disconnect just after the inverter will still have the inverter components energized from the PV power circuit to the inverter? It seems that it can very well be electrically the same. As long as they simultaneously disconnect all conductors that aren’t solidly grounded (this would need to be verified depending on the unit) , rating, location, markings and numbers are good and is indeed electrically the same, it could be fine.

I know this is two years old but I've got a question NEC 2017, off grid system no grid tied at all. Totally off grid is a PV disconnect required on the outside of the building or can it be the main breaker? North Carolina residential

Hi Marty, we agree with that interpretation of NEC 2017 - no PV disconnect should be required outside the building for residential off-grid systems.

Anyone have a link to the Sandia calculations for 100kW generating capacity systems?

Do you need 3 To 1 Y Type MC4 Branch Solar connector if using a combiner box? THANKS, I have 6 panels...

No, individual strings would be "combined" in the combiner box.
