Hi! i mostly likely will be attending baylor class of 26 and as a black girl i was wondering if there are places to get your hair done around or should i plan on learning to do my hair myself 💀
best question I have ever been asked 😭! Girl I’m still trying to figure that out myself, it’s been hard finding multiple people who do hair. However, I found someone at my job (dining hall) who does it on the side. But that was just LUCK if I’m going to be honest.
So my best suggestion would be to learn some basic skills your self to save you some money and because the people who do hair in Waco are few and far in between 😭!! I’m finally forcing myself to learn how to do cornrows so I can crochet my hair for free :( ! But most black girls who have their hair done around here usually get it done when they go home or up in Dallas somewhere (I’ve asked many times 😣)
I do have to mention though that depending how active you plan to be in meeting more black Baylor girls through social media, I have found that in those groupchats that there are a few girls who actually know how to do a few styles of hair ! So I simply would ask around those circles too !
Hi! Baylor black girl, class of 2016. I did my own hair! I found a lady in Killeen to do it but she moved! 😭 I will say, college is the best time to practice on your hair. It’s helped me now and saved me tons of money.

They definitely do have African groups here that you can join ! I’m not sure about dancing however 🤷🏿♀️! Good to hear you’re coming back !

Haha ! For the most part its all poking fun ! I was trying to be as dramatic as possible in the video!! But just majors at war with each other, to be honest, I think music majors get it the worst :( !
Was it hard to get into Baylor ?
It’s hard depending on who you ask ! Baylor was my “safety school”, because I personally believed it was the easiest to get into out of all the schools I applied, and therefore I didn’t have to try so hard to get in. I didn’t know how hard it was for some people to get in to Baylor until I asked around once I got here. So it’s not the same for everyone :) !

Good question! Baylor does offer scholarships throughout the year and if you are either persistient enough or have a great skill (academics, sports, something involving the church/military, e.t.c.) It is possible to accumulate scholarships. I am not sure how that would work for international students however so I would ask Baylor's Financial Aid office about that. Good luck to you!
