They are called outriders, they are so important to harness racing. I was in harness racing in Canada driving thousands of races and I have seen hundreds of times they have saved peoples lives and horses lives.

looks like the drivers in the front started slowing down their horses as soon as it happened, which caused rear-enders from the horses behind?
Such a horrible event and yet, the replays at the end are shown while a very upbeat song plays? VERY inappropriate music.
