The entire Gotenks arc feels like filler because it had no payoff. They didn't beat Buu but we wasted many episodes on it. Then we didn't get a payoff to the Gotenks capability until what... Dragonball Super Heroes and they didn't even perform a proper fusion? Name another time Gotenks mattered. I'll wait.
Akira toriyama was an artist, his strong suit wasnt story telling. So anybody who points out "bad writing" its like, yeah? No shit. Toriyamas brain wasnt wired like that, he was just having fun drawing and writing his world.
Gon is notoriously known as far as I remember to be like Hey killua my best friend I'm selfish and going to do what I want even if it's a stupid idea and I don't give af, but ik you can bail me out because I believe in you. Almost remember a line like pretty much to the effect of I can be reckless because I got you to reel me in. That is a character flaw even if he acknowledges it. But that dude doesn't get triggered by a selfish character flaw. He's mad at ones for the sake of others Goku's second chances, Krillin saving 18, or Goku's flex on cells saying Gohan is about to beat the brakes off you so you're going to need this lol. It's funny because I feel most people give Goku more flack for one of the few times he was super prideful which was in someone other than himself his son, but these same people also are always Vegeta lovers or in his case gave Vegeta props for writing. When Vegeta makes way more detrimental choices consistently throughout the series for Saiyan pride, but he is not given as much shit as Goku. In fact, they say that is just the beauty of Vegeta's writing. This is crazy because Goku realistically was ignorant to his mistake or too optimistic at times for the things he gets trashed on the most, Vegeta the smarter of the two knew full and well every time and just said fuck it I do what I want which objectively is worse. Make it make sense.
Kid Goku: is marriage something to eat? Adult Goku: throughout the series accepting his Saiyan heritage after originally distancing himself from it saying I'm Goku and I'm an earthling. transitioning to super where he tells Broly to call him Kakarot since he's a fellow Saiyan. him being disingenuous " they are literally the same no difference. Goku doesn't change I heard it from a tiktok so you know it's true."
The vid you're responding to is Hbomberguy RWBY levels of pretentious, surface level "I didn't actually pay attention while watching this shit" argumentation. At least this dude had the decency to keep the video shorter.
“It’s only good when there’s a fight. Whenever they’re not fighting it’s bad.” ITS A FUCKING GENRE CALLED SHONEN THATS LITERALLY WHAT YOU WATCH SHONEN FOR! But yeah bro missed with everything, Goku has crazy development, Kid Goku is just learning about the world and finds friends when it was previously just him and his dead grandfather. He gains allies and finds connections with the outer world and helps them along in their individual journeys. Then when things get serious and they aren’t in tournaments goku realizes that he has to overcome villains to protect his friends. In Z when Goku has a son he has to balance being a father with protecting the earth. He struggles heavily through his endeavors and duty as the “Protector of earth” and a father (as anyone would). He is led on to believe that gohan wants to be like his father and a be a warrior, BY GOHAN who yells at Chi Chi because he wants to go fight to bring his friends back on namek. He realizes this was not the case (Very out of character for gohan, he was always gung ho when it came to fighting until this point.) and STAYS DEAD so that no one is getting hurt on his behalf and the ACTUAL main reason he did this is because he saw how his son didn’t want to fight and how he put his son through a VERY tough time in the cell arc. He then is brought back, TO FIGHT A THREAT THAT CAME OUT OF NO WHERE and continues after the buu saga trying to train and become stronger because, THATS HIS HOBBY AND ALL HE KNOWS TO DO. While gohan is a family man. Goku then goes on to the granola arc, and regains his saiyan memories, and fully accepts his saiyan side in which he rejected prior. This guys argument is null, Kid Goku was a cold killa who never thought about how his villains could change and be better to a put together guy always trying to save the earth however he can along with his villains. I hope somebody reads this long ah paragragh.
In regards to the relevancy of the dragonballs, let's just think about it from the perspective of Toriyama, was he meant to change the title of the manga after every arc because "well it's not about the dragon balls" ridiculous.
Not what the point was, I don't blame you for misunderstanding since the guy is bad at talking, but the point was the story has no direction, and feels dragged on because the needs of the stories original long-term direction have been met and yet not replaced. So everything past that feels like "why are we still doing this?" Not having a direction isn't inherently bad, but when the rest of the story cannot make up for it, it adds onto the reasons.
funny how he also names call Vegeta's development because I feel that's so in your face even someone who can't understand more subtle character changes like that dude can notice that. Does he seriously think that's even realistic out of a show that spanned years no characters had any growth until Vegeta who didn't even show up until Z. So before then no characters had any growth even me typing this sounds a ridiculous claim. I mean what about Bulma, Yamacha, Tien, Krillin, Oolong, Goku even though he denied it they all had growth prior in dragon ball which he claimed he watched.
Character Flaw =/= Bad Character. Though, flaws exist to humanize a character, and typically to have the character develop past that flaw, so a character repeating the same flaw over and over again gets tiring and can make a character unlikeable. Like Vegeta being on his BLAH BLAH BLAH Pride BLAH BLAH BLAH Prince of All [3, 3 Halves, and a Quarter] Saiyans, BLAH BLAH shit WELL after the Buu Saga for no good reason.
What I love the most about Dragon Ball Z unlike the other dragon balls is like it’s just one story about dudes hitting the gym to go fight some strong mother fucker going to destroy the earth. I know that sounds simplified. But like how many times in Z alone is like the set up for a fight just “we got to go somewhere to get some gains and then come back to flex our muscles and box” Like it’s the funniest shit. The only half exception is Namek. But even then, guess whose the one who saves the day? The man who hit the gravity gym before the final battle.
Dragon Ball haters either didn't watch the show or didn't watch the show, because how can you sit there straight faced and say Kid Goku, the kid who slaughtered a whole army of people is the same character as Namek or even teen Goku who was taught by Kami that killing is wrong and the value or life, if Goku was the same as he was when he was a kid, he would've fucking annihilated Frieza as soon as he got strong enough to do so Edit: I also believe Gohan was never suited to be the main character, he literally DESPISES fighting, when Dragon Ball is a fighting anime, I mean, it could've been some cool character arcs, but the whole point of the ending of Cell saga and Goku's sacrifice was that Goku didn't understand Gohan and thought he liked fighting.
That's it! I'm revoking his right to talk sh*t about the series. All he did was talk about the Buu saga; complain about the title; CLEARLY avoided the character development; and that's just a few of them. And yet he says that it's TRASH?! You guys might not dunk on this bozo, but I WILL! 😤🙌🏿
Sometimes I wonder if the people who criticize Dragon Ball ever even watched the show. This guy is saying things that don’t even make sense if you watched the show from start to finish.
This guy has become one of my favorite RUclipsrs. Crackdown on these fools. He makes me want to start a channel now that I know this can be a thing. I love other animes but I can literally dog walk all of them especially DeathNote. That is for people who have no hands. 😂

To him that just meant Kid goku scales over Adult Goku. Tbf i think he also said something about gag logic is the reason.
The Krillin thing isn’t really a great argument, there are many other anime characters that’d do the same for someone they fell in love with. Krillin did fall in love with 1 kiss but still. Edit: as soon as I continued the video I heard some dumb shit, Kid Goku is an actual demon, he kills so many people and does so many people dirty in ways current Goku would never. That show growth as a character.

No that's level of 10 yrs old that someone can understand and you just get it cuz they told you the answer rather than having you learn by watching it
Crodie I would LOVE if you covered the hip hop war going on rn, cuz THIS shit is on some Goku vs Frieza shit
I bet this dude paid an editor who didn’t agree with him. The clips always contradicting what his saying seems to fit too perfectly.
That HAS to be it cuz literally why add story telling moments such as Bardock, Goku vs Vegeta, Goku’s Super Saiyan transformation while saying the story is trash 😭
This guy has NO RIGHT to say no one watched DB when he freely admitted HE DIDN'T WATCH IT. Stopped after Krillin and the controller, yeah no your point is invalid
Went ahead and rewatched Dragon Ball Z like he asked. And in my opinion it's peak
What’d you say in his comment section
A lot of people forget that Goku straight up murders people fairly regularly in Dragon Ball, he doesn't start sparing people regularly until Z.
Majority just skip to Z bro
One of my favorite episodes is Goku and piccolo driving.
Bro talking like someone who only watched a show once then only rewatched clips of it.
Sage literally the goku of the dragon ball community
I love when people don't understand what the word plot means then proceed to complain about plot.
And character development
HAHAHAHAH damn its been a LONG ASS TIME since i heard the term "Coochie"
Please get on them like white on rice, a glass of milk, a paper plate, and a snow storm!
sage this nga gotta be trolling😭
Ah yes music a crucial and integral part of a story that really changes the flow of the manga series
Honestly dudes like these make me mad because he’s just a hater and has no valid reason why dragon ball is trash.
probably the worst take to date.
Sage is bout to crash out from watching this
That man made rage bait for clout💀
Nah bro this has to be troll bc some points are to ironic
The vid you're responding to is Hbomberguy RWBY levels of pretentious, surface level "I didn't actually pay attention while watching this shit" argumentation.
At least this dude had the decency to keep the video shorter.
I have never in my life heard "ya know what I'm saying" so many times in such a short span.
So everything past that feels like "why are we still doing this?"
Not having a direction isn't inherently bad, but when the rest of the story cannot make up for it, it adds onto the reasons.
@@__T.O.G. bro dont watch the show
@@youssafemonster not past z no. Lost interest.
7:47 he only watched half of the show? he lost all credibility
funny how he also names call Vegeta's development because I feel that's so in your face even someone who can't understand more subtle character changes like that dude can notice that.
''you mfs haven't even watched the show'' BRO SAID HE STOPPED WATCHING IT HUH??
I wasn't the only one who expected him to say some shit like jk or April fools
Right?
Right?
Character Flaw =/= Bad Character. Though, flaws exist to humanize a character, and typically to have the character develop past that flaw, so a character repeating the same flaw over and over again gets tiring and can make a character unlikeable. Like Vegeta being on his BLAH BLAH BLAH Pride BLAH BLAH BLAH Prince of All [3, 3 Halves, and a Quarter] Saiyans, BLAH BLAH shit WELL after the Buu Saga for no good reason.
They got DBZ fucced up
He was stuttering the whole time, it felt like he was just joking off his head. W sage for showing how good DBZ really is
What I love the most about Dragon Ball Z unlike the other dragon balls is like it’s just one story about dudes hitting the gym to go fight some strong mother fucker going to destroy the earth.
I know that sounds simplified.
But like how many times in Z alone is like the set up for a fight just “we got to go somewhere to get some gains and then come back to flex our muscles and box”
Like it’s the funniest shit.
The only half exception is Namek.
But even then, guess whose the one who saves the day?
The man who hit the gravity gym before the final battle.
Dragon Ball haters either didn't watch the show or didn't watch the show, because how can you sit there straight faced and say Kid Goku, the kid who slaughtered a whole army of people is the same character as Namek or even teen Goku who was taught by Kami that killing is wrong and the value or life, if Goku was the same as he was when he was a kid, he would've fucking annihilated Frieza as soon as he got strong enough to do so
Edit: I also believe Gohan was never suited to be the main character, he literally DESPISES fighting, when Dragon Ball is a fighting anime, I mean, it could've been some cool character arcs, but the whole point of the ending of Cell saga and Goku's sacrifice was that Goku didn't understand Gohan and thought he liked fighting.
The Garlic Jr filler should’ve been cut from the saiyan saga- cell saga
That's it! I'm revoking his right to talk sh*t about the series. All he did was talk about the Buu saga; complain about the title; CLEARLY avoided the character development; and that's just a few of them. And yet he says that it's TRASH?! You guys might not dunk on this bozo, but I WILL! 😤🙌🏿
The best response to the pacing section is “read the manga” or “watch Kai”
This guy is definitely trolling, there's no way someone can be this restarted.
Came here to recover from meet the grahams
same bruh
GG He dropped again
@@kyreejames3471 it's so over 😭
Bruh he dropped again. Kendrick dumping the clip into him😂😂😂😂
Bro is getting the Namek Frieza treatment
Sage should debate this dude just cus it'd be mad funny
Sage don’t deserve to have brain rot from that debate 😩
Plz talk about hxh and aot more i want to hear your opinion on those series
He finally watched it THANK YOU
Lucky star pfp is all I needed to see to know what kind of person this is.
I think i heard someone say kid Goku scales over Z and Super Goku. The context... He said Goku can't throw someone to space... I said Goku literally put the Rabbit Gang on the moon as a child. To him that just meant Kid goku scales over Adult Goku. Tbf i think he also said something about gag logic is the reason.
That is pure delusion on their part.
Goku is the best written, plus vegetas greatest moment relied on gokus sheer existence lmao
Naahhh bro I will not take that level of disrespect, bro the character development he forgot about that!!?!?!
Yeah
Goku didn’t understand what death actually meant but he learnt it and stopped just killing people
@@LagerLager05Which sets up his issues with accepting he’s a saiyan his views of mortality has changed after he lost his best friend and a mentor.
This is one of those videos I wish Seth would have debunked before his controversy
I went to the OG vid and the mf replied on one of the random comments, bro said piccolo had no character development, that alone should tell you how terrible his take is about to be
hunter hunter didnt even stop after gon found ging?
Not even 3 minutes in the guy nearly gave me an aneurysm
So true
Tell us you read cliff notes without telling us you read cliff notes.
