Even though i am not a Novak fan you do have to respect that and the way he did it.. Props to him..
Everyone is entitled to be a fan (or not) of any player, I respect and admire Roger, Rafa is probably my favorite, but Djokovic - almost a co-fave for me with Rafa - is the most down-to-earth, is incredibly intelligent, naturally humorous and witty and gives back plenty to various charities and seems to enjoy doing so. I'm just curious as to why you and others are not fans.
I'm just far more of a Roger and Rafa fan than a Novak fan. As a tennis watcher I just prefer their games..

Why respect him when he didn't even take the wheelchair tennis seriously? I'd be pissed if I were the disabled guy. Djokovic just fucked around when the other guy takes his sport really seriously.

He proposed he did it on wheelchair and he so gracefully accepted and tried and clearly told the crowd to cheer for him for being able to do that...hes funny and maybe u dont understand that which is very sad.. we both watch the same video but see different thing just coz u have a very cynical perception of him or perhaps everyone in general...
Novak is literally the only player where I started off not liking him and now I am a huge fan. He is a great (under-appreciated) representative of Tennis. Respect to both players.

I'm going to be perfectly honest. When I watched my first wheelchair match, I got bored with it because it didn't have that intensity as regular tennis, and seemed to go on forever. But seeing Novak try it out, really showed me that it isn't as easy as it looks. I'm pretty sure I couldn't be able to maneuver a wheelchair well while holding my racquet. But now my admiration for wheelchair tennis really grew after seeing this, because tennis is a sport that anyone can play, regardless of your differences. So, one day, I may give wheelchair tennis a try.

I dunno. They're in wheelchairs for the whole life (or at least a very long time), so it's probably as natural as walking for them.

BMdeYoung for so many years it was Roger and Rafa and when Novak became dominant Fedal fans like me didn't like it lol esp when he is beating Fedal in slam finals. Sometimes he comes as arrogant the way he celebrates when he wins and when he reacts to fans of Fedal when we cheer our idol. I can't blame him though but the way i see it he's not going to get the same affection as Roger or Rafa.
It was all early in his career when he kept retiring from matches, his parents were very arrogant towards Federer and he purposely antagonised the crowd when they weren't supporting him. People also didn't like his celebrations where he'd rip off his shirt. His past has given him a bad rep even though he's a classy, humble champion these days.
It's because of he's fans like Federer, Nadal and Djokovic they all have some of those insufferable fans. that make you dislike him. i personally don't dislike either of these tennis players but i can see why people do.
I'm not a fan of Djokovic but I have to admit he's one of the nicest guys on the tour

Respect for both the greats of the game. Novak is one humble loving and caring human being. One of the greatest ambassadors tennis has ever seen.
Novak came to the GOAT party late but he is currently the most formidable one..
Shame he does not receive that much love from the fans as the other two because there was already a great divide in the world of tennis when he matured to become a champion.

@Ichiro Chia Yea I have been watching him when he was consistently 3rd and 4th on atp rankings, and I knew he was gonna be so successful then. Imo he has the best balance between power and flexibility of the big 4 (well you can say big 3 now since Murray lost his form for a long while)

no. sometimes incredible skill and being a legend at your sport, yet having an attitude makes not everyone like you as much as they like others, and thats when this athlete's fans go crazy haywire cause they wish this athlete was loved as much as Federer, or Nadal, who have better attitudes. Wheelchair tennis players deserve a lot of credit. It is much much harder than playing normal tennis
It's much slower and less enjoyable to watch than normal tennis, its same as comparing Olympics with para olympics.. although they struggle more to play a sport handicap the privileged ones takes the crown that's the world of sports

Djokovic will surely become the greatest player the sport have ever seen by the time he retires. I'm a Fed fan but I think Novak doesn't get the deserved respect and following. The main reason reason for that probably is we have seen Nadal and Federer playing it out on the tennis court and all the fans in the world are essentially divided onto team Nadal or team Federer. Since 2010 a new name has emerged and as fans we're not ready to accept that novak is actually better than Fedal.

He’s making it so relatable that everyone who plays Wheelchair Tennis is already overcoming hurdles that even the greatest able-bodied tennis players aren’t able to overcome themselves. Necessity (the disability) is the mother of invention (technique) and they figured out how to do something incredibly hard to achieve. I think this is a very noble thing.

I’m not involved in the world of tennis at all. I once, by chance, came across a video of Novak and was completely charmed by his personality, and have since become such a fan. I do not watch tennis still, but I am always rooting for him to come out on top. Truly, I love his personality and character so much. He also has such a great mind and philosophy. A very big inspiration to me, completely separate from tennis. I want to be like him, charming like him, warm and funny and kind like him!!!
