    your videos look and sound so professional! I am confused on why you don't have more views. I just bought a 1986 944 n/a and will be frequenting your channel quite often now!

      Hi Christian - congratulations on the purchase and welcome to a fantastic community! Thank you for your kind words re the videos. It's possibly because of my inconsistent uploading - that said, I have about 14 videos that are waiting in the wings at various stages of their edit, and will hopefully get these out sooner rather than later 😃 Looking forward to our ongoing interactions!

    I have done door cards off many times. Would be a good idea to take regulator completely out of the door and clean/lubricate the pivot points and motor. Check the rollers as they will break from age.

      Thank you, I appreciate that. And I'm really enjoying what you've been posting - adventures I could never do with this 944! By the by, the camera work results in a 20min job turning into a 3hr job! 😅

    I can not tell what you are doing at the 5:40 mark? What are your forcing over there? Are you working the plastic glide on the left side?

      Hi there, Let me try explain: At 2:28 there is a rail connected to the motor that has a small but very important ball head pin on the back of it. In the video at the time stamp, you'll see the back end of it - it's round.
      This ball head slips (with serious force) into the hole seen at 3:32 in the sliding mechanism on the rail that the window fits into.
      There is one on either end of the rail and I explain the general setup near the end of the video.
      Please let me know if this helps?

    I was wondering when the next video was coming out. How's the beast going?

    • @GTArmstrong
      @GTArmstrong  3 года назад

      Yeah, quite a lot of footage to edit...I'd say about ten episodes worth...
      As for the beast...er...it's not 😅 Just waiting for a part from Germany - a couple more days to go. There will be a video sharing what happened.

    I am currently struggling to get the plastic glides into the tracks on the glass window part. I am up in there up to my elbows fiddling around blindly. I just don't know if I should get the motor assembly bolted in first? Then attempt to get the slides in the tracks? or put the slides in the tracks and then put get the motor assemble bolts put through the door wall and bolt it down. Your helpful suggestions are welcome. Also.. it seems like the plastic glides don't want to move in the tracks. I kinda get them in the tracks but they don't want to move it is very tight and stuck I get them in there but they don't move. I think this is why the motor quit and I think I should do something to either the tracks.. ( I tried spraying with wd40 dry lube ) or file down the plastic glides? I would love any recommendation you have.

      If I'm following you correctly, the order that makes sense to me would be: Motor bolted down to ensure the arms stay in place; plastic glides into the tracks so it looks like 3:32; and then fit the ball ends (2:28) on the motor arms into the plastic slides on the rail...
      As for the glides not moving, I'm unsure why this might be...perhaps the rail portion of the mechanism is dirty or slightly bent? The limited travel on these as they actuate means you won't need to worry about them coming out once everything is together.

      Hi, did you manage to find the way? I am exactly in the same situation. Unable to get the rollers into the slides at roughly the same time so that the first one does not pop out while sorting out the second roller/slide… thanks for any advice 👍🏼
