I wish there was a specialization for pulling unprocessed fuel straight from the ground automatically, just like Stardust water pump. You'd still have to run it through Refinery to get usable fuel, but some sort of automated process would be nice
If you put a normal water pump anywhere that oil is (Think near refinery settlements) It will slowly pump crude barreled oil which you can then refine exactly the way you said
@@Endeavourment could you elaborate on this, i've heard people talk about this, but it is very unclear where oil actually is, is there some way to maybe see it on the map?
@@Martin4000.sweden Looking at the map theres no way to directly tell other than there's likely Oil nearby Refinery places, It is much more noticeable in the Red Sands / Blackheart region. Driving around the desert you'll probably see a few bases scattered around Strongholds and sometimes abandoned Oil Rigs, these are the kind of places you want to aiming for.
@@Endeavourment I'm at one of those locations you mentioned. Near an oil refinery, and there's some black puddle soil on the ground (logically, that'd be crude oil) however I must have put down 20 water pumps and all I'm getting is Dirty Water. I've opened a customer support ticket for this since it's poorly explained and there's no wiki entry for it.
The last location I was at didn't have refineries anywhere near it, no black puddles, yet a random Water Pump gave me exclusively Crude Oil Barrels.
It's been 3 hours of trying to figure this out, and it's getting annoying. It's a shame because I wanted to make a ''Gas station'' build with Vending machine and refining fuel but the system seems to not work as intended at the moment.

How often do they respawn?
Good early spot when just starting out, however fuel is used for prime wars so you'll have to do this for a decade if you don't pump from oil fields. 😁
Doesn't seem to respawn when i change world. Did they fix it already?
