LOL, already seen her video! :) You're too slow Dad!
For your BFR renewals, do you guys in the US do all the "upper air work" as we call it here in NZL? - All stalls, clean, dirty, partial power, maybe a wingdrop if we can urge it to! (Tomahawks are really good for those :), steep turns, maybe max rate turns? (love flying through my prop wash boring holes!, then a forced landing down into a paddock with a low overshoot and climb away. A circuit or 2, with a flap-less landing, crosswind Ld and T/O if able... (I can't remember what else we do, it's been 12+ years for me since my last... [sigh]

The requirements here are a 1 hour flight and 1 hour review of the regulations (especially changes). I'm most concerned with landings. You get to see a LOT in the traffic pattern (climbs, climbing turns, level off, descending turns, slow flight and a near stall if they land it right!). I usually fly around and do basic maneuvers and finish up with landings.

Always with a dream of aviation, a very few chances in Africa. Someone told me continue dreaming, you'll never come out of your dream....
    You're a great inspiration ❤️

Jim, thank you for your service! I just watched Maddie's flight review, it was great! You have some wonderful videos! I grew up on a dairy/crop farm by Greenwood and learned to fly at 10C, Galt airport in 1968. I flew UH-1H in Vietnam, flew helicopters offshore in the 70's and 80's, EMS till 2019. Now I am a volunteer pilot flying UH-1H with American Huey 369 by Peru, In. I am so glad your family loves aviation!

Danny, thanks! Was your farm off Aavang Road? I had a teacher named Aavang in school. I went to Greenwood elementary, then Northwood followed by Woodstock High.

@@quinnjim Thank you for the reply Jim! Yes, the Aavang Rd farm is now run by my nephew, my mother now lives in Greenwood at the end of Barber Lane, the farm where she grew up at. I am trying to think of which relative was a school teacher. I went to the same schools, how neat is that!

Jim, just watched the video with Maddie. Looks like she never missed a beat. I liked your comment about just flying around with no place to be. Thats just the reason i bought a '59 C172, straight tail nothing fancy, but flies so very well!! Thanks for sharing from KOPL.

Thank you! This is where it all began for me lo those many years ago -- watching Maddie solo. Doing what I wish I had done at her age. I had the opportunity, I had the money, I had the time, but I blew both on a long distance girlfriend. Woulda, coulda, shoulda!

Great stuff, John! Wish you were closer - I'd hire you in a second to train me some day! 👍🍻
Yeah, ain't it the truth about the new developments near runways, farms, racetracks, etc.. I thought that was just a MA phenomenon, but it seems to be countrywide these days, unfortunately. What a world! 😬
