Wow, no one bragging with BG3 winning or complaining that Spider-Man didn’t win a thing, only the flute guy. That’s a whole different side to comments and I love it!
The fact that flute guy is the highlight of the entire ceremony is kind of a sad indictment of an industry where everything is really starting to homogenise into a clone of something that came before it, which is kind of depressing.

That Final Fantasy 7 theme is the fastest I've ever started crying to a song I've heard for the first time... I was not ready for that emotion overload. What an overwhelmingly beautiful day
This was my favorite gaming show of the year, great atmospheres great announcements and great awards. Would it be better without an hour worth of ads, yes. But it makes the rest of the show possible so it's worth it
It's a little sad that the people who develope these amazing master pieces barely get time to talk. This has mostly become a trailer show unfortunatly... We want more speeches like Christopher Judge.
Unfortunately it's just what comes with it being the replacement for E3. Kinda wish E3 didn't die, it meant we had two big events. One for celebrating new games, and the other for celebrating the games and creators from the past year
@badreddinekasmi8919 E3 could only be revived so much to be honest it was redundant because most of the developers had their own shows anyways. This new method of releasing the trailers on RUclips is better because now the gamers can watch what we want and we see alot more indie titles because developers aren't paying E3 to showcase. It was the equivalent of the Superbowl commercial too much money paid for an add.
@@badreddinekasmi8919yeah but they clearly fked up here by over doing it. They even ended way early and let non-award winners talk a long ass time with nothing of the game to show for it. The dude talking about his ankle story talked about it longer than they got to about their awards in a supposed awards ceremony
blame christopher judge for blatantly abusing the leeway they always gave everyone up until this year and ruining it for everyone because he's such a primadonna. but i agree, they overcorrected for sure - they barely gave them a minute.
The camera workers were really focusing a lot on Flute Guy this time around, they know everyone loves to see him. Hope to see you next year, maybe with an even BIGGER flute.
His name is Pedro Eustache, Venezuelan artist. He has created more than 500 instruments. He is the one playing the iconic types of flutes in many movies, like Narnia, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Passion of Christ and the list goes on...
Bruh do u know how happy I was to see the flute guy? I almost forgot about him for a year until they said there’s an orchestra again. All the memories came back….
@@pratikzade2310 watch TGA from last year. Like Lucky said, watch the xenoblade one but also watch the ending orchestra where they did the GOTY nominations.
@@pratikzade2310 I think the community is in love with his energy ? 🤷♂️ He doesn't always vibe though, I remember seeing him in other orchestras and usually he's just playing his instrument normally.
@Wong_Shen I was just commenting on award shows for games in general. It was always seen as a kid thing, a toy for kids. Now it’s a huge part of culture.
Flute Guy is the pillar of The Game Awards that absolutely everyone can get behind. We may all like different games, but our celebration of Flute Guy is unanimous.
Some random guy playing a flute doesn’t make these game awards great, I can go to an orchestra and some other person playing a flute can having the same energy if not better than him.
Sam Lake made me cry there. He's one of the most honest and hard-working person in this industry. Quality is always his topmost priority. Remedy is that one company which I am confident won't fall into the greedy money business.
Remedy and Larian both have had no scandals about treating their workers badly and no scandals about treating their women workers as nothing but flesh to be preyed upon, and both have come out with artistically incredible games that won a bunch of awards, sold really well, and didn't fall to monetary abusive practices either! It's awesome and wonderful to see really, beyond wonderful.
@@chrmnder403 so are you going to ignore the terrible writing of alan wake 2? Remember the diner scene? Remember the room with the corpse monster that comes alive and then vanishes?
Could we get a live cam just dedicated to multiple flute guy in the game awards orchestra next year?? He is literally the reason I watch. He is basically if Andre the Giant was a cruizer weight and the flute was his golden shovel to bury all those other jabronis.
his humility is on full display during his speech. when he mentioned how people reached out because they felt seen and reminded people going though tough times that they are not alone - loved it.
I supported Larian team and Baldur`s Gate 3 project with all my heart and soul, and when Neil Newbon received his award I was in tears. Thank you for such a beautiful world and such amazing characters that you have created!!

Don't see any comment on how an award show became a press release event, announcing many major categories as if they're nothing in between game trailers or new game announcements. This is new pre-E3 press release event, not an award show.

We came here to watch our beloved actors, musicians and developers accept their awards. The only thing that should not be cut short are their speeches for it is a momentus occasion for them and for the audience. Try to find a work around because giving a winner a minute or two for their acceptance speech is does not bode well for the game awards. The show was entertaining but not letting those responsible for this entertainment speak left a sour taste in my mouth. Be better please, this is not what the game awards used to stand for.
This would have been a perfect TGA if it wasnt for that. They even ended up finishing early didnt they? Someone really fked up. The award winners got less time to give their award speech in a self-proclaimed awards ceremony than the length of the hurt ankle story by that one dude.
I think it's totally fitting and representative of modern triple A gaming to do shit like that. It just goes to show that the developers and players don't matter; advertisements, celebrities and shameless cash grabs are the real priority.
It should've been City skylines 2(For best city builder atleast) ngl. Edit: Ik it was a mess at launch but which AAA game isn't? They'll fix it like Cyperpunk. I enjoyed playing and watching it and isn't that what matters at the end. Think about it.
Because there are so many triple A game companies making CRPG games lol. It's like inXile and ZAum are the only companies in that genre and they have 70 employees and 100 employees compared to Larian's 450, and not going to lie I prefer their games a lot more.
@@trendybistrocrpg games are a niche genre, so the fact that larian managed to bring in so many people who have never played a crpg before and got them to love the game makes me feel like they 100% deserve game of the year
3:35:36 - "Uhm... I didn't expect it anymore--" Random Fan: "CAP!" Beautiful. Haven't played BG3 yet, but judging by the crowd reaction, this was well deserved. Great show this year =).
By the sounds of it it's an open world survival craft. Those types of games are never good at launch and *ALWAYS* take five years to become worthwhile. Or well over ten years if you're TheFunPimps.
@@clanpsi I wouldn't be so quick to assume, Hello Games has more than learned their lesson with their 10 years of No Man's Sky development. its one of the only games I am really excited about
It looks like it’s going to be a cousin to no mans sky, which is a good sign. Hello games has over a decade’s worth of experience working with their procedural generation and their engine now, and having it all focused on one planet instead of a whole universe is exciting to think about. Plus, they’re not idiots. They know what went wrong with NMS before release. I know for a fact they won’t do it again.
@@yessfanyou would THINK they'd have learned their lesson but you just never know. Look at battlefield for example, every game starting with battlefield 3 and onward was always severely broken at launch and not playable for months (except for bfh which was a different developer, and also bf1 was ok)

Sea of Stars's win, the actors, AC Origins actor's speech, Arkane Lyon, the comedy, Alan Wake 2's musical, Alan Wake 2's director speech, Monster Hunter Wilds, --the rabbi kid showing up officially-- (nope, Timothée Chalamet), Sven with the armor. This was the best Game Awards ever. No drug can compete. We won the games. I can just go hibernate forever now.
Congratulations Larian, you absolutely deserve all these awards and more!🎉😊 Congratulations to every other winner/nominee as well. In all honesty BG3 is by far the best in every category they were nominated for imo, but I'm happy TOTK, FF16, Alan Wake 2 and Hi-Fi Rush won some awards as well. Would have been perfect if Lies of P won best art direction.
I loved hearing the Alan Wake director speak on both occassions, he has such a great way with words and his passion and pride in what the whole team has made is really touching.
dude almost cried getting that Award he and his team deserve those awards. Im just pissed that they gave them only 1m to speak while Kojima gets more time to advertise his next game than all of TGA winners combined This is outragious
@@MetalDeathHead Pal, you are coping I hate when devs shove something down by throat too, but Alan Wake 2 isnt woke or smth Cause the game was made by Finnish people They do not live in US they do not care about agenda or diversity
Walton Goggins is seriously underrated. He’s so damn charismatic and smashes every one of his roles out of the park. It was cool to see him make an appearance.
I remember when companies were crying about bg3 because it sets the bar "too high" just because they are too lazy to actually release finished games / games with actual content 😂 Gotta love seeing it deservedly win goty
All the people supporting the flute guy is great xD Fortunately, I know his name. He is Pedro Eustache He tours with Hans Zimmer, being the legendary flute guy he is. SPREAD HIS NAME FAR AND WIDE! HE DESERVES THE RECOGNITION!
@@maddo-hq9jr He got a lifetime ban instead 😂 He is not allowed to EVER enter the Peacock Theater again or he'll be persecuted with the highest criminal charge allowed by law.
I didn't know who the flute guy everyone was talking about was, and I was starting to think I somehow missed him. Then I discovered that that guy is hard to miss.
Awesome award show and Larian with the win for Game of the Year was the most awesome ending. The lead writer tearing up was just such a beautiful moment and I can not believe Sven showed up in his Panel from Hell suit of armor.

Honestly all the entries this year were so damn good, that it’s hard to complain. Incredible games, all of them.
The fact that flute guy is the highlight of the entire ceremony is kind of a sad indictment of an industry where everything is really starting to homogenise into a clone of something that came before it, which is kind of depressing.

This was my favorite gaming show of the year, great atmospheres great announcements and great awards.
Would it be better without an hour worth of ads, yes. But it makes the rest of the show possible so it's worth it
pretty sure its possible without those
It's a little sad that the people who develope these amazing master pieces barely get time to talk. This has mostly become a trailer show unfortunatly... We want more speeches like Christopher Judge.
Maybe 3 minutes or less 🤔 8 minutes was alot 😆

Sam Lake made me cry there. He's one of the most honest and hard-working person in this industry. Quality is always his topmost priority. Remedy is that one company which I am confident won't fall into the greedy money business.

It was plain disrespectful to put "Wrap it up" while Sven was dedicating the award to their team member who died.
