This video was a piece of art. Methodical, patient and enlightening. I hope our wiper blade motor never ever goes bad. Our Ford 2001 Escape is a car that need lots of maintenance over time, but my wife will not let go of it, and when it runs, it runs like a champ! Noticed in your video that the left and right cowls window seals had deteriorated and cracked. I'm trying to keep the water elements out of the engine compartment. I ordered them for my wife's 2001 Ford Escape, and they are not cheap, with shipping, $126.00. I also have a new cabin air filter which I need to install since it's 6 years old at least. Thanks for the video.
Sorry about that...I didn't realize anyone finished watching to the end! I probably need to tone that down a bit. Thanks for watching...hope it helped!
Thanks! I never thought of just removing the cowl, but if you're replacing it, that would make sense. I may do a vid on just that. If you noticed, the weather stripping on my cowls are shot, and you can't replace the stripping by itself...it is a part of the cowl (thanks Ford). Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching, Roy! It could be a few things. Your main motor arm screw has come loose and the arm is not attached to the motor...or the connector bushing on the main arm is worn, or has come loose, from the wiper transmission arm...or there is something internally wrong with the motor where it runs, but doesn't turn the arm. Another thing could be (although unlikely) is that the teeth on the windshield wiper arms have stripped (but when that happens, usually one arm wipes, while the other sits still...it is highly unlikely that both stripped out at the same time). Best thing to do is take off the windshield cowl, to expose the wiper assembly, and turn the wipers on. Watch to see what's turning or not turning...and what's connected or disconnected. Hopefully, it'll be obvious what the problem is.

Why do my wipers go down instead of up after changing the motor
Did you let the motor run without the wiper arms first?
Cool
