The joy of playing old games. Save, and save often. If you don't rebind quicksave and quickload to the right and left mousebutton, you are doing it wrong!
It has probably been mentioned before, but the purple bar in the combat screen, the one at the bottom between "auto" and "skip" shows combat information. It will tell you how much damage your creatures and spells do. Edit: Just got to the point in the video where you realized it.
Also about haste. It increases the creatures movment and makes in act faster in a turn. Also on wold map your hero movment is limited by its slowest creature in the army. So draging dwarfs around will slow down your hero.
57:10 You called it earlier though! Anti-magic on your SNOIKS and then Armageddon for a good time for everyone involved! ...Well for everyone left standing...
Haha that was so hilarious at the end. How long did it take you to do it again? Did you just make a beeline for that spot and dig there, or did you have to do much other stuff first? Does this game have a Quick Save button you can hit every few mins? :)
Is that Haste on the elves doing anything? I thought it just increased movement distance, not gave them more turns. It doesn't seem like they're getting more turns from watching the footage, and you never move them so I'm wondering if that's a waste of a spell and a cast.
@@The-Bloke probably, I thought it gave them more turns as well, but I think that’s actually linked to morale? And getting an extra turn is linked to luck?
@@CopperPlaysRetro So you are mostly correct, Morale gives chance for extra attack, higher morale equals higher chance to act again, and bad morale has a chance to skip your creature's turn. Luck works the same way, but instead of giving an extra turn, its chance for double damage. Haste does not give extra turns, it makes the creature able to move further and act sooner, since battle order goes from fastest to slowest creatures. And example would be where haste makes the elves faster then an enemy flier, so the elves are able to do range fire before being forced into melee. Spellcasting is limited to 1 spell a turn, only when all creatures have acted and turn two starts can a spell be cast again. You were told about the windmill, certain structures can be visited again, a windmill will restock every week, you should also be able to re-visit map structures that gives you luck and morale for a battle. I am not sure if alignment has any effect, but you do get morale penalties if you mix creature factions, like throwing in elves and druids with your centaurs and hydras. There should not be any problem using a sorceress with a supplement of only barbarian creatures however.
LOL that is wonderful, running out of inventory destroys the precious artifact. All those lucky charms and that is what you get.
Won't make that mistake twice

In case you were curious luck doubles the damage done of the unit

@@Kadmilos3310 ah I hadn’t considered the map speed!
@CopperPlaysRetro in later games the speed is set in numbers so its even more clear.

No fast quick saves! But you can manually save anytime, I had a save about an hour in, but I just snuck my main hero to the spot (:
Unfortunately town gate just returns to the closest one in this game but it changes in 2

Is that a question, or just thinking out loud? I don't want to be a backseat gamer if you want to figure out stuff yourself :)
@@Deathbellows feel free to help me out if I’m missing something, I don’t mind!

@@Deathbellows Thank you for clarifying! I wasn't sure about the spell casting because sometimes when my turn starts I'm not able to cast any spells.
