Eddie Nketiah has played 168 games (116 in the League) and scored 38 goals. He played 30 league games (39 in all comps) in the 22/23 season and scored 4 goals.

The fact is Man City are the benchmark for squad depth. Julian Alvarez is deputy to Haaland and plays same role as Nketiah does for Arsenal. Eddie wudnt lace Alvarez boots. If Arsenal want to win a title better quality needed even for backup players

I respect Eddie to the highest degree, he's never complained about game time or anything he's the perfect professional but unfortunately for him we arent competing for top 4 or FA Cups anymore, we want to win the PL and CL and we have moved on to higher calibre players. Simple way to look at it: we need the equivalent of Trossard/Martinelli in every position. Like Tomiyasu/White. We need players who, if called upon, will be at almost the same level as who they place. Meaning you can actually pick whoever is on form at any time. Eddie, Reiss, ESR, Viera, theyre too far below the level of the guy that replace. It's not as important in defense. Kiwior is a very adequate replacement for Gabby and LB. But in attack, we need a situation like City and Liverpool have had for years. 4 top wingers, 2 top strikers and multiple CAMs.

@amsterdampattayathailand1947 Arteta has made sure his wingers; Saka, martinelli, trossard and Jesus have good defensive and work rates, thus, Any of those players in the 10 will do a decent job to enable us win and control games. Secondly, Saka, White, Rice and any of our center forward,, knows what is entailed in that number 10 role because they are all starters and imbibed. Don't underestimate the thorough work the coaches and players have been working on for the past years. If unfortunately Odegard gets injured and we do have a player like Kudus or olise, Saka will be deployed to that role and Arteta should be able to know how pep managed Messi centrally and I see Saka with the skill set to take up that challenge as he would be so unpredictable in that middle because he could go either side while dribbling and not to mention his ball retention qualifies and forward play

In my opinion, I’m big on Nketiah and I agree with some of the criticisms he gets from the supporters.
I wish he got given a bit more game time because he stepped up for us eg. Man United brace, 21/22 goals after Auba left.

Jesus missed chances just as much as Eddie missed but the fact that Jesus is preferred to him when he’s fully fit says a lot about what Mikel thinks of Eddie’s overall contribution to games. He’s a calm lad no doubt, but he hasn’t evolved his game to keep apace with the team’s current trajectory.

The reason why Eddie Nketire cannot play over 30 games in the season is because his quality is not at the status of the standard of Arsenal at the moment. It's not time to sell Nketiah, but it's time for him to leave. Arteta will never play Nketiah, Nelson, or Tierney. He hates the Hale End Academy. He sold Martinez and kept Leno. Arteta also sold Willock and Maitland Niles, two players better than the two he bought, Fabio Vieira and Lokonga.
The stats don't lie. Nketiah scores more goals per minute than Jesus and Havertz combined. Plus Nketiah is Arsenal's only center-forward.
Tierney was the best left-back in England but Arteta wanted a midfielder or centerback in the position. The result was the team was targeted on the left side (with success). Tierney is the only left back at Arteta.
Smith-Rowe is the only capable attacking midfielder at Arsenal. Better than Havertz. Better than Vieira. Can complement or step in for Odegaard.
Same thing at right wing. Arteta would rather play Saka with a broken leg than to give Nelson minutes.
The team fell short of fifth place, then fell short of the Title twice by very fine margins. However, Arteta still insists on using half his squad, wearing out the starters. He still insists on playing whole seasons without two specialist positions on the pitch simultaneously. No left back for a whole season. And with Havertz, who isn't a midfielder nor a striker, that's another position unfilled.
