this would be about a 1hr to 1.5hr shoot and yes - same results - this is how i work... i would obviously not move quite as fast, but def move with purpose. :)
Very nice, thanks. That was all natural light, correct? If so would you mind sharing your ISO, f-stop & ss? I imagine one or more of these varied a bit with each pose.
I wanted to have a deeper understanding of these poses. Knowing why these poses work, helps us remembering them, applying them correctly, and potentially coming up with new poses based on the principles that we learnt.
ty ty!!! gotta have some fun. and no... i dont have that video... but honestly... i never thought this video would be so popular... so i may have to revisist some men posing vids for sure!! :)
Love this! I noticed you didn't use any external lighting. I've been spoiled with using lighting so I don't have to reduce my shutter speed or increase my ISO. Do you mind sharing your settings?
glad you enjoyed it. this shoot was a while go... so i would have to go digging for settings... i would say just looking at this i was prob iso 200-400 MAX and shutter of around 100-200 sec. in a location like this - you are going to be hard pressed to pull out lighting - i like to move fast and use the light pouring in - open shade can really produce some killer results. welcome to the channel. :)
How did you get good light in the shade? In your video about making women look good on camera, you gave a lot of good principles. What are the principles for making men look good? And how do you find dope locations like this one? Thanks for these videos as they are very helpful.
I love these relax and natural poses, use them all the time, and now I can show this to my customers and let you do the explaining in two minutes .... thank you 😊
Great video short and sweet but to the point. It would be great to see more on this subject for men and women, even couples. Maybe already in the pipeline 😊
haha. ty so much... hey... you know... when you got that skinny bod... you can wear those tight pants... i couldnt pull it off thats for sure. :) i eat too much pasta.
Hello Sal! Love your content, thanks for all you do! Are you using a function key for the shutter release? I noticed it during the sitting down watch pose. Thanks again!
Excellent content as always Sal… and I “Love” shooting at the Parthenon (it’s starting to get super busy now😔) and the bicentennial mall park is excellent also!!!
Can you make a video breaking down the Psychology of photographing men? I've heard you talk about it a little on the creator seriese season 2. I want to understand camera angle/posing/lighting and any other tidbits you have to offer on making men look big and masculine.
Thank you to all the photographers for allowing their their images to be publicly critiqued. The judges' comments help the entire photographic community.
Love the video! You list all of your every day gear, and the description, but did you stick with a single lens on all 10 of these poses? If yes, which one? If no, it would be very useful to know which lens was used with which poses during the video.
ty ty and no worries... this wasnt a video about gear so thats why its not listed. but yes - shot with a single lens - Canon RF28-70... every shot was at ISO 200 and F2... hth .
@@SalCincotta1 Thanks! I knew the focal length had to be varied because the wide end really showed up in some of the closer full shots. Love the looks!
Thanks for a very awesome set of poses. I will try these on my next client! Would some of these poses be the same as actor portfolio poses, or are those different? Would actor poses (used for agency) be more theatrical and in studio, or would these suffice? I ask, because I sometimes get requests to do these.
i would consider these lifestyle... so it could work for actors just depends on what they need - some only need a current black and white headshot... but others are modeling as well and love to add something a little more lifestyle.
I’ll answer you the same way. I answered the last person to say that you know many blinks I get per paid portrait session? ZERO! So if it’s all the same to you… I’ll keep being amateur. Silly comment bro. Silly.
I LOVE this tutorial because I struggle with posing men! I can do these poses in a studio setting, too! Thank you, Sal!
exactly... use this as a set of go to poses!
This was great. Location was interesting. I noticed there is virtually no affects from too much sunlight - Nice.
Your videos are very much appreciated- great quick synopses. I’m using them locally to hopefully start a business.
The blue steel is my favorite
Very interesting, I should like to have you as a photographer for some photoshooting and videos.. very good job.
That's was really well done. Quick and to the point.
Solid video. Was that at the Parthenon in Nashville, Tn?

Excellent, Sal!
Great snip-it
Awesome, Sal. Thanks for the tips!
very welcome!! glad you enjoyed!
This was wounderful!
hell yes! ty
great video and straight to the point! Just curious how long you take on a normal shoot that would produce these same images?
this would be about a 1hr to 1.5hr shoot and yes - same results - this is how i work... i would obviously not move quite as fast, but def move with purpose. :)
Awesome 🙌 Please share for WOMEN as well ☺
Will do soon

The zoolander😂😂😂 love it!!! Great video! Definitely a keeper!!! Do you have a video poses of men with casual clothes that are not wearing a jacket?

So, just curious....do you set ISO to auto but have it stop at some arbitrary number?
nope. not sure where you saw auto ISO. thats is something I NEVER DO.
