Wanna know something funny? I've been a fan of the series since FNAF 2, and I didn't know the lore behind the red eyes, yet I didn't mind them because I felt it made the animatronics scarier.

You said it man! I agree with everything you said except the one about the red eyes in the Fnaf movie.
People complaining about it aren't new fans, on the contrary they're fans who understand what made Fnaf scary in the first place, the eery atmoshpere and uncanny look and behavior of the animatronics (which gets completely ruined by giving them angry eyes and eyebrows for when they're hostile). It is not just a "minor detail".

@@ButTheWolf That is only true for the book universe (and maybe modern fnaf). I explained why carrying this over to the movie deviates it from the original fnaf premise and hurts what made it special.
the problem is that the eyes looked so out of place and not what most fans expected. If they made the eyes look like the silver eyes book cover then I think they would get away with it as those eyes acutally look pretty scary.
Now.... we assumed that the red eyes are because of Afton... but the trailers seem to indicate otherwise. With all the paranoral stuff we where showed.

Dude.. thank you, you explained all my inner thoughts and feelings about this franchise, I miss when it was scary and disturbing when I was a little kid and it gave me nightmare fuel, like from the start of fnaf 1, but now I just can’t take seeing another cringey fnaf edit pop up on my screen😢, the best we can do is pray that fnaf will gain its horror factor back the way it used to be, and maybe even better than before. 🙏🙏

Finally, more people are making videos about these stupid yt shorts. I remember back in 2014, 2015 etc. the videos I watched were high quality like Markiplier, Matpat, the fnaf songs but now they're being overshadowed by these stupid content farms. My younger brother keeps watching them and I can't help but cringe. He's gonna grow up not knowing what fnaf content was at its peak.

I do agree that a lot of the shorts posted are just content farm or incredibly cringe, but it's not hurting anyone so I don't really care. Although I disagree with the point that RUclips shorts is hurting the fnaf community. I would argue that RUclips shorts is actually helping grow the fnaf community instead of turning people away. Some of the best theorist's in the community right now got a big start from shorts and tiktok like ID's Fantasty and RyeToast. Shorts are also reminding people of this series if they might have forgot about it, yes even the cringe posts. I do agree with your point that these awful shorts may turn people away because they think that this is the whole community, but I also think shorts has helped grow the community in a positive way as well.
i feel like our attitude about franchises and fandoms should change in general, people really value franchises based on their fandoms far too much for some reason.

Ima be honest, people saying “the new fans are the ones complaining about the red eyes”doesn’t make sense to me. Most of the new fans are children, there most likely buying the newest neon glow in the dark fnaf plush so I’d doubt they’d care about the eyes.
It isn't the childrens fault they like Fnaf, some adults make cringy sexualized Fnaf content for them. I grew up watching russian theories, SFMs and Gmod videos, and stuff. It would've been good if we somehow tried to show the new Fnaf fans all the old theories and videos, so they learn the lore and can think of themselves as a real Fnaf fan.

RUclips shorts in general is just bad, 75% of what's on there is just objectively bad content and that's being generous, and not just the Fnaf stuff.
The Fnaf stuff isn't even that bad either most of it including some of what you showed is just mediocre.

If you do, you likely aren't gonna find the good Fnaf content anyway even if there wasn't content farms.

Fnaf It's not special every community has to accept it.

honestly, those fnaf animations with “OMFG-hello” outro song over the fighting scenes really made the fan base grow
Half of the model showcases I really like, I'm a big enjoyer of variety and seeing different custom-made models like withered toy animatronics, unwithered animatronics, and the springlock animatronics (since we never actually get to see any full Fredbear or Springbonnie model), but on the other half I do admit that I absolutely hate the low effort ridiculous ones like all the non-fnaf or fnaf ar skin shorts, it went from showing off cool well made model variations of FNaF animatronics and completely original models to creating low effort, quick click RUclips shorts about crappy FNaF winter or shamrock skins and Poppy Playtime animations that don't even have anything to do with FNaF, now that is what gets annoying after a long while.
Let’s just say that there is a lost boy who cannot find his way home. He has two paths to choose. One path leads him back home and the other leads him even farther from his home. The little boy represents the five-year-old kids or the young viewers deciding which one to choose. The correct path represents RUclipsrs like Markiplier playing the fnaf game normally showing the original details and the true story of the game. The wrong path represents RUclips channels like Lankybox ruining the communities of pop culture games and maybe one of those videos that show fake reveals of in-game secrets or chapter releases.

The gacha community has the same exact rpoblem as FNAF. All the good, and actually entertaining movies/videos get shunned and pushed out of the way so that cringy, r34 butt fucking videos get posted. (i searched gacha life once and the 4th result was somebody butt fucking there sister like wtf)

I feel like the red eyes represent criminal database that the animatronics had in Fnaf 2, I know that in Fnaf 2 it's considered new technology but what if it's an failed attempt of the technicians to make them?
@@gneu1527 Purple represents William Afton, in the books red meant Afton was in control. there was also a scene where Carlton had to go into a shared dream world with the children. He helped them piece together their memories to turn on Afton.

As Withered Freddy, he is the older, withered incarnation and the first engineered model. It is explained that he has gone through an attempted retrofit, but was left unfinished after the management chose Toy Freddy instead (much like the other original animatronics being replaced by their respective counterparts). Out of all of the original animatronics, Withered Freddy seems to be the least damaged, with only a few tears through his body. This version of Freddy is later retrofitted and redesigned into the classic Freddy for the events of the first game.

In Help Wanted, Withered Freddy's design remains unchanged, however, the most noticeable change is that he has a darker shade of brown.
With similar technology to the funtime animatronics that allow costume plates to be opened immediately, Freddy's bow tie allows the torso to open when the button is pressed for easier access to the innards. His endoskeleton includes a safety latch, which is a strange metallic black and yellow wire that can extend a metal bar to lock it in place. Freddy's endoskeleton features a red button that powers said safety latch. Freddy's music box is tucked safely to the left of Freddy's endoskeleton.

This is the most agreeable video I’ve seen- and as a fan since fnaf 2, and knowing the lore, I’m glad you understand the red eyes. It’s part of the lore, and completely intentional. Other problems- the art- rule 34 especially with Roxanne and toy chica- it’s insane. I hope the people that make those understand they are robots and not… for other use. They were intentioned to be scary, not sexual. I’m glad you spit it out, dude. 2016 was when I probably had my biggest fnaf obsession (specifically sister location) and I never thought about sexualising the robots.. I thought they were scary and some made me feel at home. You’ve won my award for best video explaining this! Hopefully some of the newer fans see this, and will understand how fnaf felt for us veterans.

The fnaf I grew up with was when I was in elementary and when I picked my little brother with my mom I got showed a fnaf video and had nightmares for a few months but now I love fnaf so much.
I use to watch 2 of the content farms Jaze Cinema and rooster time its really sad to see what they devolved into.
Honestly you just explained how I feel about how the final community is now. The shorts are just garbage most of the time because it’s kid friendly and it’s bringing younger fans into the fandom who are ruining it. Basically why people are leaving the fandom is because of what the newer fans are doing to the community. I wasn’t an og fnaf fan, I came into the fandom in 2019-2020, but I personally prefer the nostalgia that the old games brought with its creepy gameplay and lore. The lore is the best part about fnaf because it shows what fnaf really is. I remember when I first heard of fnaf when I was a kid and it was well known for its creepy animatronic that are roam around at night. I miss the old fnaf games because fnaf is basically everyone’s childhood and now it’s ruined by the younger fans and the short. What makes me upset is that they are hating on the movie because of their eyes, I think the eyes are ok but it’s how the movie is going explain the lore, because red eyes means the animatronics are in attack mode or controlled by William Afton. The only thing good about fnaf on RUclips are, the RUclipsrs who’ve played it, the game theories, and the vhs tapes. The VHS tapes are basically is the only thing that is good you can find cause the vhs tapes show what fnaf is besides from the game theories. What also makes me upset is that people do think that it is a kids game when it’s not. This is why I hate half of the community because they are ruining such a beloved franchise. I hate to see a wonderful community get ruined by newer fans, it just disappoints me and I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way. -New subscriber! I mostly agree with the shorts, but you do have to notice- *There are still amazing cosplays in there, that actually bringout the game, and some of the fnaf ar videos have really cool desighns, and get none of the credit beacuse of people like that, so we still have to be aware that most of the shorts arn't bad, so we cannot hate on every single one, and the fnaf fandom is actually mostly made up of children and teenagers, so they'll just post what they think other teens and children will like.*
True but sadly that is what will the franchise, because some people hate the cosplay and shorts and those people put the game in risk of being irrelevant
An entire reason I hate fnaf is these exact shorts and I don’t see myself liking the franchise again.
Yeah, I really hate these content farming shorts, but some RUclips shorts are actually good. They can be funny or have some sweet animations, but most of them are riddled with content farms. But besides that, some FNAF lore snippets or animations, or even playing a game and with funny remarks, it can be decent. I wouldn’t fully judge the whole fan base on yt shorts on this one specific type of content, but I do see your point.

the red eyes honestly don't look good to me in general. You can say they had red eyes in the games or whatever but the red eyes in the games never looked...terrible. The red eyes in the trailer look like they're painted red, almost. The red eyes in the game actually glow.

I joined the FNAF community about a month ago and I first started with lore videos, then I found out about the cringy FNAF AR videos, then I saw Markiplier's FNAF videos, and now that I've seen this video, I left the childish FNAF AR community and stuck to lore and game videos

I agree with you my life was surrounded by the horror of FNAF and is the reason I stopped sleeping with stuffy thinking they'd turn to nightmare animatronics. Looking back at it that's what it was supposed to do and I don't even understand why all of this trash content is for kids especially because it's sexualized. I hate for people to grow up with the not-so-scary side of FNAF instead of the scary, lore-heavy, and high-quality side of FNAF, and when the movie comes out I hope that It isn't complained about just because it wasn't what they thought it was.
But! what if the FNAF movie will bring people in the direction when FNAF use to be scary and then and only then the younger fans will know what FNAF is truly about.

My brother would fit in the category of "new fnaf fans" where he knows fnaf for the ar edits and all the cringy kid friendly stuff while i am more in the og fnaf fans category. You know, the horror and eerie atmosphere.
So what I do to sort of help his mindset of what fnaf is, i watch vhs tapes with him, we watch markiplier let's plays (mostly fnaf 1 or 2) and more stuff that ISNT content farms

I think fnaf security breach is the biggest reason why the fnaf community was ruined. This is because from 2019 to 2021 the shorts were bad but still stayed true to fnaf. But when security breach was released in Dec 16 2021, it was massive hit and attracted many new fans. Many of these new fans think that fnaf security breach is what fnaf is all about. This also causes fans to replicate those terrible fnaf ar shorts with security breach characters. Many people don’t care about the fnaf lore. An example is in “Shiloh and bros” fnaf security breach video where Shiloh(who played Gregory) unplugs a wire that was connected to springtrap this caused springtrap to die which is false since springtrap powered by wire. Also the video credits Springtrap as burntrap even though the suit was clearly springtrap. Lastly many people who became a fan of fnaf because of security breach thinks fnaf is for kids.

Just some clarifications about the eyes. Whike books talk about Afton's control being indicated by red eyes. We have absolutely no reasons to believe that this might also be the case here in the movie, as the trailers seem to indicate that the childrens are the ones in control instead.
The "Afton in control" while certainly plausible, is in no way comfirmed.
The red eye drama is nothing but a reflection of a bigger problem: the games post fnaf 4 slowly but surely departed from the original intentions of the main trilogie, introducing comedy, scy-fy elements, ridiculous plot points and worst of all: character assasination, due to how inconsistant the many characters's appearences, personnality and designs, derivate too much from theirs actual characters...
The best exemples are Afton and Circus Baby, who started as threatning and are now jokes....
Because of all of this, there's now two distinct fandoms within the community:
The og's who fell in love with the original trilogie, and are sad to see theirs loved franchise in such a state of unnanouced decay ever since Sister Location.
And then there's the younger audience post fnaf 4. The ones who joined with stuff such as pizza sim, the god awful books post Silver eyes, Help wanted and Security Breach. Games where scy-fy and comedy tower above fear and realism.
We need a wake up call. A return to the old formula, not necesseraly in terms of gameplay, but the feeling and tone of the first three games needs to make a comeback.
