Great idea 👍 This also works perfectly on the 128K Toastrack, as the module is so small there is just enough room to squeeze it into the case. Works well with both standard and Turbo load games.
Great job! I was just about to build a TzxDuino, but it won't be needed. This is much more elegant and cheaper, and nothing is visible from the outside. I plan to install the MH-M38 version, because it also has an amplifier. I see that the 7805 has already been replaced in your machine. Wouldn't the BT module be in a better place under the cover, instead of the heatsink? So the keyboard cover plate doesn't shade it? I have a few 48K machines that I am refurbishing and giving to my brothers as a memory of their childhood. It will be an indescribable feeling when Manic Miner starts loading into the machine "out of nowhere". I'm going to say it's just some kind of magic... ;)
I admit I was was expecting it to load directly into ram so the 48k was taking data in as fast as possible. Like the cd ROM stuff as Bluetooth is faster than cd ROM.
So you connect it only on one channel output (R), but bluetooth module output is stereo ? Is the signal always strong enough ? I ask because i bought bluetooth receiver that i connect with original 3,5mm cable from outside and it's too weak. Sometimes it menages to load game sometimes i get loading error, signal strenght is on the edge ....
i would of used a faster loading mehrod but both are supported Have a Pi & Pi storm (C64) inject load into Ram Directly and for the Load PCM noises Have it play the audio via Bluetooth or audio line
The MCU of the module is probably 100x as powerful as the spectrum 😂
Nicely done, I hadn't thought about adding a Bluetooth module to a speccy, I feel a new project coming up.
Go for it!

Great way to mod Spectrum 48K. I also have this one!

Have to say it's kind of cool :) I did relocate it a bit as the fit was a little tight where I had it.
cool and unusual upgrade!
Thanks!

I use emulator on pc for that. I like the nostalgia of the loading screen and the screeching :)
Awesome!
Loading is slow as in real tapes?
Yeh, loading takes the same time but you don't have to worry about damaged tapes etc. Anyway, that loading sound is part of the nostalgia for me.
Use numberplate tape - insulated and sticks like poo to a blanket.
Good shout. Ended up using double sided tape.
6:00 What kind of tape did you use?
Kapton Tape
Nice
Thanks
Can you save back to your phone or is it just one way?
Just one way.

Yeh, just the one channel. I do have to have volume on phone to max but loads fine.

I would HAVE done that also. 🤭
