@@halflifezherka Metal ones require an exterior pouch of some sort, like shown in the end of the video, this keeps it warmer longer and prevent the user from burning themselves. So it all depends on the pouch that determines how long it stays warm.
Metal will last longer than Rubber so better value for the buyer and for environment as well
My dad used to have a brick from the fire thrown in a pillow case when he was a child here in oz. I don’t like the rubber ones, loose heat to fast.

I remember very well using these metal hot water bottles in Tokyo’s cold winters. The bottles would be inserted into a cloth pillow to prevent burns but sometimes it would slip out and I got 2nd degree burns on my feet. This was in the late fifties and early sixties when my family was living in an old Japanese wood structure house. It was a very big house with no insulation, no central heating and was very very cold. Some rooms had portable kerosene stoves and some had gas stoves but they were never used while we slept. My fresh white school shirts were cold and crispy in the morning and could not be worn until it was warmed up by a stove and loosened! That’s the way it was then, wether you were in a upscale house or middle class.
Lots of work for a simple product. Looks good quality.

I have two of these. I also have one made of rubber. The rubber type can only hold hot water up to 50-degree C, while the metal one all the way to boiling point. Decades ago rubber was not made as durable as of today, and metal was the choice.
Where could I get one of these ?
Metal will last longer than Rubber so better value for the buyer and for environment as well

So many process in this world.
This was very interesting! First, I've never seen a metal hot water bottle...ones here in the states are normally rubber....I am very surprised how much is manually done...I would figure a lot of the process would be automated. All I could think of was I hope they get to change up stations regularly, as being a "Screw on cap person" for years would get pretty old, pretty fast. It could be fun if you changed it up every day, so your not doing the same task for years and years.

A stainless steel yutanpo is good, but a copper one has better heat retention and is therefore more expensive. After sleeping with the yutanpo, you have warm water for washing and shaving your face the next morning.
heat retention isnt a factor in cost... its what its made from and the process is takes to make it. copper is a more expensive metal AND IS THEREFORE MORE EXPENSIVE

I don't think I've seen a hot water bottle since the 60's (except those used for camping), and I've never seen one made of metal.
They still sell them, but they call them enema/douche bags.
I remember seeing in old museum houses they used to have metal pans on sort of broomsticks that were placed into beds to warm them up, but you wouldn't sleep with them there.

I don't understand how you would use these bottles camping. Do you heat water on the camp fire, fill bottle, then use it as a warming aid in the tent? I don't see the heat lasting long enough to be worth the effort.
You put it near your body,legs or stomach,,inside sleeping bag.
Short time use in cold area, east Asia.
When camping in he Mountains in Nepal, we used to boil water to sterilise it, fill our Aluminium Sigg drink bottles with it, keep in sleeping bag overnight and then drink the next day, very effective.
Like you said it is a warming aid, but in a sleeping bag not for the whole tent, it can actually last a whole night in a bag. Also, like the end of the video, you need to put it in its own pouch, which insulates it a little making it last longer while still giving off heat and not burning the user.

I didn't expect the two pieces of metal were glued not welded. Is it because it involves a lot more work for post-processing if using welding? Also, What kind of glue is used for the zinc plates.
I think the glue is more of a sealant than to hold them together, folding the lips is what holds them together.

電力料金が高くなり、「ゆたんぽ」の復活を考えなければとおもいます。温泉地でもありますので、70度前後の温泉水で代用できるのではないかと考えています。

일본은 온돌 시스템이 아니라 겨울에 추워요... 잘 때 석유난로는 화재의 위험이 있고 히터는 전기료 폭탄.. 그래서 저기에 뜨거운 물을 넣고 수건에 감싸 안고 잡니다.
질서정연한 라인, 등산복이 아닌 유니폼, 유툽을 보지 않는 근로자 이것이 바로 선진 제조업 보유국 일본

В Японии нет центрального отопления (кроме Хоккайдо), так что грелки и всякие приспособления чтобы согреться используют и дома.

아직도 일본에서 대량생산 되는 것은 일본의 겨울 가정난방 때문입니다. 우리나라 같이 온돌 문화가 없어서
일본의 겨울 주택은 보통 실내기온이 10도 이하로 춥습니다. 그래서 잠을 잘때 저 탕파를 이불속에서 껴안고 잡니다.
캠핑에 사용은 미미하지요. 일본의 전통 가정집 겨울 난방 방법을 아신다면 이해가 쉽습니다.
방 보온이 안좋으면 아직도....
