The best Darbari rendition ever to exist. The quality of voice is unmatched in all octaves, so perfectly in sur that it sounds just like a beautiful instrument, can’t get any better, like Bade Gulam ali said, “singing is to paint in the air with sur, it’s like playing in the air” and khan saheb did just that splendidly, wow. He presented Darbari in its basic form and yet it sounded better than any one’s ever attempted with all the improvisation. This version is the purest, the most perfect there is! Almost made it feel like he invented this raag. No matter how many time I hear this, it’s never enough. Takes me into meditating stage. This rendition gives me peace🙏🏾

I have heard many versions of this Raag, and let me assure you it doesn't get better than this, period. This is medium sort of Khyaal format, and my only regret is that it is not the 'Bada Khyaal'; it would be even better in that format. The length of the Alaap certainly hints at it though. The Sarangi player showcases his virtuosity throughout this performance: very symbiotic, adding and never detracting. Even the lowly tanpura is excellently showcased.

Divine. I never heard Darbari better than this. Unfortunately, Ustad was confined to accomplish it in a certain period of time otherwise he would have shown more colors of this raag. We missed the opportunity to listen to Fateh Ali Sahib painting it in his own way. Any way, Excellent!

My case rests here!!!!!..... .....If Raag Malkauns is the mother of all RAAGAS, then Raag Darbari is the King of them all!
