    The Chase trifecta is such a powerful credit card strategy that does 2 things:
    1. Maximizes the amount of points/rewards that you earn
    2. Maximizes the value of those points/rewards when you redeem them
    Yes, it is 100% still worth it in 2021. This strategy utilizes 3 Chase credit cards. At least one of those cards needs to be an annual fee card like
    - Chase Sapphire Preferred
    - Chase Sapphire Reserve
    - Chase Ink Business Preferred
    The most common Chase trifecta setup is
    - Chase Sapphire Preferred
    - Chase Freedom Unlimited
    - Chase Freedom Flex

    i started the chase trifecta this last year since i went under 5/24 and got the unlimited. 10 months ago. got the flex a few days ago. going to build points for awhile and then apply for the preferred or reserve when ima get ready for a big purchase like a car. a lot of dealerships will allow you to pay with credit card up to a certain amount on them. then i can get the spending bonus covered and then just pay my card off with cash to not accrue interest.

    • @ChaseYokoyama
      @ChaseYokoyama  2 года назад

      Thank you! Yes, the 3xs and 3%s etc. all earn Chase Ultimate Reward points. So they are the same in that aspect. BUT, if you have an annual fee card that earns points (3xs, 2xs, etc) you can do MORE with those reward points. For example, you can't transfer ur 2% or 3% reward points to Chase travel partners. You would need an annual fee card to do that.
      Long story short, Yes they are the same, you only see differences when you want to redeem those points. The annual fee cards give you more redemption options.

    Excellent video. What is the best card to get for occasional traveler like me who does NOT want to pay an annual fee but still wants travel accident insurance, plus travel and medical emergency assistance? The best I can find is the Citi Costco Visa card that Costco members can get for no additional fee. Any other that you can suggest? Thanks!

    • @ChaseYokoyama
      @ChaseYokoyama  2 года назад

      Honestly I could not find any other card with a NO annual fee that is similar to the Costco card. Those kinds of benefits/protections are much more common for cards that you actually pay for. Costco must be different because technically you are paying for a Costco membership and it isn't a "straight up" no annual fee card like the Chase Freedom cards.
      BUT the Chase Sapphire Preferred is a very affordable annual fee card at just $95. And it comes with a $50 annual hotel credit and other benefits to help you justify that annual fee. The Chase Sapphire Preferred will offer you pretty solid insurances like the ones you are looking for. Sorry I could not have been of more help.
      Thank you so much for watching and asking such a great question. 🙏🏼 I hope you are able to find which card will fit your needs best.

    • @ChaseYokoyama
      @ChaseYokoyama  2 года назад +3

      Personally, I would say the freedom cards first because there aren't any great sign up bonuses on the Sapphire cards right now 🤷🏽‍♂️ Plus you won't have pressure to try and make up the value of the annual fee. (unless you spend a lot on the reward categories of the Sapphire cards and would get more value from the benefits than the cost of the annual fee). Just remember to collect and hoard those Chase points from the Freedom cards and wait to redeem them when you get a Sapphire card or the Ink Business Preferred card.
