Hyungwon on the throne is the visual of the group. He is also a DJ called H.One. I.M also has a solo song called 'fly with me'(part of his mixtape). Jooheon- the other rapper also has a mixtape. For monsta x songs i personally like- shine forever, stuck, dramama, hero, fighter, destroyer, from zero, spotlight, beautiful etc are some.

I love Monsta X so much, they are the second group I really got into after BTS. Obviously BTS are special to me but Monsta X truly are amazing artists and people, with incredibly personalities. The fact that they are good friends of BTS makes it so much better for me, too.

Great reaction!! Just to clarify 'Comeback' simply means the release of another album because some idol groups don't get that luxury, unfortunately. For some it takes a year or longer.. MONSTA X has had 2 "Comebacks" this year :)

Okay if y’all want to discover more of Monsta X, you have to start with their debut Trespass then their most popular one Hero. I think that’ll set off a good start, then move on to the rest! By the way those two are my absolute favorites!

Every single title track they have released slaps. Literally. Across the face. It's that good.
Monsta X was actually put together on a show, kinda like the x factor...only instead of trying to find one group or one singer...it was their intention to make this group...same thing with Stray kids.....one of the reasons why they do well outside Korea (in my opinion) is because they are very strong....both in looks and in sound...I'm not saying other groups aren't but with Monsta X, look at Wonho and Shownu....they are not exactly small guys...Jooheon isn't small either...most k pop singers are small on frame, and that is what the Korean fans like....this group, is "extremely manly"...I.M. actually studied in Boston for college, and some of Jooheon's family is in Texas...so they have a strong connection to the states....I have been listening to hip hop since it started..and no I'm not going to say age.....lol but I do have to say that since I started listening to k pop...i have noticed that their rappers are some of the strongest, fastest, most precise rappers I have heard...they are very proud of this genre of music and want to give it everything they have...and these two (Jooheon and I.M.) are two of the best....check out MFBTY with (tiger, umi ray, and bizzi) they will bow your mind....look for BUCKA BUCKA with R.M.
Well to be a little more precise, Jooheon has a friend that he's close with in Texas. She was actually an idol at some point and later got married and moved to Texas where she had a baby girl named 'Olivia'. They treat each other like actual siblings. I.M a.k.a Changkyun came to live in Boston (Chestnut Hill) as a child for 3 years because his father was a scientist and a professor at a college there. He later moved to Israel and lived there for 4 years and went back to South Korea when he was about to start high school I believe is what he had said in an interview or somewhere. But you're right about them being 'bigger' and 'manlier' since that was sort of the reason they chose Wonho (Hoseok), Shownu (Hyunwoo) and Jooheon. The beats and performances are what I enjoy and also Kihyun's vocals that have the ability to give me goosebumps especially during 'Jealousy' . But what got me into them was the fact that Jooheon was powerful and strong when they came out with 'Trespass' and 'Hero'. Shownu was there to add some spice as well as Minhyuk, Hyungwon, and Wonho. Though Shownu is also a great dancer and Wonho is a great producer for example he produced and wrote the song 'From Zero' which wasn't suppose to be part of the album but due to high request they decided to put it in. Minhyuk has the ability to bring everyone together. He is what you call a 'moodmaker' and is great when he's a host for a show because he just makes things more exciting. Hyungwon is very funny and a meme king. He's also able to catch to Shownu while they dance. I.M just has that deep tone in his voice which matched well with Jooheon's powerful rapping skills which made it even better.

hi !! i wanna thank you guys for reacting to this and just wanted to say that you're one of my favorites. I can tell you both genuinely are real about it and like it and i love when you pause just to talk about different parts, it's so nice. I saw them live in July and let me just tell you, they're absolutely outstanding. They're even more amazing live and honestly it made me soft you guys liking Hyungwon so much. He can be one of the more underrated members sometimes, but he always owns every comeback. I definitely recommend you guys check out more of their title tracks and even venture to more than that. This was the first time in a while that they had a title track that was more grunge and all. They have a lot of duality and can cover all ends of the spectrum. Also i really really recommend you guys watch I.M. and Hyungwon's cover of fake love (drake), they performed it at their concerts and finally released it on soundcloud. i know there's already lyric videos up since I.M. has his own rap, but if you want to i really recommend watching a live performance of it. I know there's a fancam that's literally in the front, they do this song and they have a dance to how long. i'm sorry for rambling i promise this is my last thing. They recently performed versace on the floor on a music show and i recommend that whether in your free time or what, to watch it because it is amazing. it was Jooheon and Shownu's song and let me just tell you, Jooheon can hit some amazing notes. anyways i'm sorry for rambling i just love you guys and monsta x a lot !!!!

oooh thank you so much for this. it's such a genuine reaction and i really appreciate how you both go in depth on different aspects of the m/v--music-wise, lyrics-wise, FASHION-wise, etc. oh and hyungwon of course, monsta x's very own model, dj, choreographer, actor etc.
now, i'm gonna go a bit in depth here because i was watching one of your older videos and you mentioned you liked songs with substance so i have a few in mind that i'd like to recommend and why:
- 'All In' and 'Fighter' which are the first two parts to monsta x's The Clan storyline. lyrically, they're thematically strong songs, but the m/v are the real winners for me.
-->'All In', it's predecessor, is best known for how it represents themes of pain, one of which depicts implied homophobia towards the characters played by hyungwon and minhyuk (so a trigger warning there); this latter point is really quite important because lgbtqi issues remain very much out of korean media so for monsta x to include that in their m/v back when they were still new to the scene is very significant
-->'Fighter' is a wonderfully visually abstract music video and i still have no idea what it means so i'd be personally interested in your interpretation. it's also an EPIC soundtrack--one fit for a movie.
- speaking of movies, 'Dramarama' and the story that follows in 'Destroyer'; again, thematically STRONG not to mention GREAT ACTING
- Jooheon's solo album DWTD has some great lyricism; he reflects on the stigma idol rappers face from the wider korean rap industry in 'Should I Do' (when idol rappers work so hard) while 'Manito' has great storytelling as he describes his relationship with rap
but yes thank you!! this was so great!! i hope you enjoy more of their songs--they have really popular ones that i'm sure others would've already recommended, but i wanted to point out these ones.

Paul, a comeback in KPOP is when any artist or group has a new song or album to promote. Sometimes they're gone for a long time, like EXO was gone for a year plus. Then had a comeback with the Don't Mess Up My Tempo album. (Yo, Anthony. We're still, out here, waiting on that Tempo mv reaction, my man.)
Then some comebacks are within months of each other. So, it's not like they've broken up. When a group breaks up, it's called a disbandment. Disband are usually permanent, because the groups are usually named by the entertainment agency. Therefore, they own the rights to that name, promotional image and music, unless an artist, has it written into their contract that they own the rights to that name and music.
Otherwise, an artist/group has to pay heavy fees, to release those things in Korea, not to mention promote in Korea.
