Or going to a job interview and someone says "Let me tell you a little about the company before we get started. So, there I was....a single mom of eight children....living out of my car...." while they break down crying telling you how amazing the company is. Nothing about what these huns do is professional. While I hate the conventions even more because they are designed to get you further in the cult mindset, I understand having the sob stories there.

Them saying they’re “literally gonna be homeless” is so frustrating when a few minutes later they talk about getting their nails done and shit. A few months ago I was so close to being without a home. I wasn’t able to make enough to pay rent and also eat. If it wasn’t for the county I live in being really good about helping people, I’d be without a roof right now. It’s REALLY not silly or a fucking joke.

The 'Propane' in the dry shampoo is only to compress the liquid product in a spray bottle. As soon as you spray, the alcohol evaporates and you are left with only the product. This mechanism is used in all spray bottles. It doesn't make your hair flammable!!
Hair is flammable anyway.
The first two ingredients in monat's dry shampoo are tetrafluoropropene and denatured alcohol. Both are flammable. And yeah, they are a propellant and a solvent that evaporate quickly. Monat decided to use a propellant the general public wouldn't recognize while pointing out the "scary" propane in other brands.

@@IAMCCSuarez Hey so I'm about a quarter of the way in to the video and I can can shed some light on what the woman who said she ran her own business was probably doing. She probably got trapped in the "Slave circle" it goes by many names Smart Circle /Credico ECT. Because they are tied up in a lot of legal battles. In short it's an MLM business that uses cult tactics to maintain and control staff. They prey on younger people coming out of college and tell them they can own their own business. They sell some product door to door or in Stores like Walmart, Costco and the goal is to get your credit card signed up to whatever they are selling so they can price gouge you. The "owners " of the business usually make the least money because it was all a trap. They make you share your personal info bank with the business and when it fails ....It always fails. They take all your money and usually tell you you owe them.
Presicion Independent Media made a documentary on it but the Interviews are a little more fun and give you all the same information in a shorter video.

Hannah Alonzo did a great breakdown/debunking of the "flammable dry shampoo" thing (her MLM Top Fails #37) Basically yes a lot of dry shampoos have accelerants (like propane) to help it spray nicely, but it almost instantly evaporates. It doesn't just sit on your hair all day
Also hair is still flammable whether you have dry shampoo or not. So maybe just avoid fires.

I once took a fire dancing class and part of it included fire dance safety. You know what’s extremely flammable? Your hair.
They encouraged us to come with wet hair and cover it with bandanas or hats because hair is just so flammable. The performers said they typically wear wigs when they perform to protect their actual hair and make removing the fire easier should a mishap happen.

This reminds me, I need to get my ends trimmed. Also, I use Paul Mitchell and when I was switching over I got the cleansing shampoo to get the build up out from my previous shampoo that no longer worked for me. Worked the first use and no hair loss. The price you ask. $15. They have a pitch ready and so do I.
I use a Paul Mitchell shampoo once a week too! He’s an OG! Great shampoo line! And when my hair feels wrecked, I use scientifically proven olaplex which is less than Monat! That right there blows my mind!
I used to use Paul Mitchell. It’s amazing! Now you make me wanna go buy some 😂 but my hair is super bright red right now. So I use red shampoo/conditioner to keep my hair vibrant
I love the original Nutrigena cleansing shampoo! I use it once every week or two depending on the weather. It's almost 15$ a bottle but lasts for months. I use nioxin for hair thinning and the shampoo, conditioner and root treatment set is 45$ but lasts about 3 months which really isn't much when you break it down. I don't know how MLMs are able to charge SO much for products that aren't any better than what you can buy at a beauty supply store that cost much less.

The "let me tell you about my story" reminds me of all the recipes online that start out with a lengthy bio and a description of their culinary journey when all I want to know is how many potatoes do I need and what temperature do I set the oven to.
The reason for the stories around the recipes is that you cannot 'copyright' the bare recipe (in the US). To protect their product food pages have to add on content.

These pitches where the chicks tell their sob stories always make me think that the women were broke because they weren’t good at their jobs. And honestly is Trader Joe’s the only place you can get healthy groceries? Most places have veggies and fruit. Trader Joe’s is awesome for sure but it isn’t the only store. These people seem to not know anything about how to do life.

I know hair maintenance is hard but if you're trying to sell and your main product is shampoo, your hair needs to look impeccable every time you're on video (especially a live). Not hidden by a hat or looking like you just woke up. Your hair should do most of the selling.

We're in a day and age that it's FAR TOO EASY to scam people. There as so many jobs out there that will pay more than these pyramid schemes. If you feel undervalued or underpaid where you currently are, shop around! Look at job boards and websites. I just got a job doing the exact same role at a different firm, and I'm going from $42.5k to $58k. If you aren't happy with your job, PLEASE DON'T go into an MLM.
It’s really funny that she said that the scalp absorbs rapidly. I’m certainly not an expert, but when you’re pregnant you can dye your hair. You can do this because very little of the hair dye makes it to the bloodstream. 😅 Make her make sense.
I will never understand how joining an MLM would make ANY type of income, let alone a livable income. I work at a warehouse full time and I do uber eats and sell plasma. Not glamorous but I guarantee I make more money with my "side hustles" then most people in MLM. Both are ethical and my plasma actually helps people and I'm guaranteed a set amount per donation. Uber eats can be hit or miss I'm my area as to whether I'll have orders or not but I'm not manipulating people to order anything. And I'm not losing any money if I don't get orders. So I don't get why these people think MLM is the only viable side hustle.
Couldn’t that “Extra $500-$1,000 a month” also be considered an income claim when a minuscule amount of reps actually make that?

Ohhhh, so now I know why I haven't gotten that promotion yet. I need to just start saying that I already got it until it actually happens.
I still can't get over the fact that they have to buy the merch. I have a decent amount of company branded stuff/clothing (some that I do use/wear) but I didn't pay for any of it! I got most of the nicer things in new hire care packages or at intern events. In college I worked at a winery that sold fun t-shirts to tourists and our uniform was to wear them-- we were given several shirts! I still wear them because they're fun and made of pretty high quality material. Side note: I had to buy clothing for most of the jobs I've had like black pants and comfortable black shoes for the winery and a few extra sets of nice slacks and a couple of blazers to work in the office jobs I've had but I still have most of that clothing and can wear it at any other jobs I get.
I personally wouldn't want to work for someone that is on a "business" call who, looks like they just got up from a nap.

Something id love to see added (possibly could just be in a deep dive) is actually showing the price of Monat vs other brands. I think showing the actual price and how pricey it is will be informational and will allow more people to see how much people could be spending per month.

One reason they've expanded to seven countries is because they have to go somewhere where no one has heard of them. People in the US know their reputation so they can't really do much business here anymore. And when it comes to inflation why would people buy overpriced hair products if we're watching prices go sky high due to inflation? I spent my time looking for deals at the off-price store for sales at Ulta to get decent products.

About the propane "argument" - do they really think that this gas (that is nothing more than a propellant to get the actual product out of the can) stays somehow there without immediately evaporating and changes magically in a different state of matter? Or do they think that it creates a bubble of gas around your head that just stays there for hours?!
