I think for a gigging musician who needs an acoustic on a gig , these make a lot of sense. They sound as good if not better than vintage acoustics that have pickups in them and are way less of a hassle. Certainly dont sound anywhere near as good as putting a good mic on an acoustic but that is tough to do in a live situation. Good stuff!
My instant response was an eye roll. Another gimme guitar, since I thought the original tele version was sufficient. However, after seeing the pickup in the bridge, which is quintessentially different, and the awesome sound demo, I have to say, I’m quite impressed. Good work as always brother. 🤘
I’ve seen to many different opinions on this one to be willing to spend that much money. Thank you for checking it out Jeremy! I can’t say I like it or hate it, maybe it will grow on me.
I have one for my church band. It really makes sence when your the only guitar player. Switching between acoustic and electric in any given song is amazing. It’s impossible without one of these. But beware you have to charge the battery more often then you would think. My guitar died on my last song of the set. I forgot to charge.
Love the transparency of the sexy “Sponsored by..” logo. I’ve got a Taylor T5 Koa (got incredible deal) and I tell people you must view these hybrids as it’s own category. Doesn’t mean they’re for everyone, but I found ‘my sound’ the moment I plugged the T5 in my Roland ac-60.
As a matter of fact I just bought the ocean turquoise Jazzmaster acoustasonic From Sweetwater! An amazing instrument it’ll be my live performance guitar from now on!
I can see where it works and where it doesn't, I was initially looking at the tele one as a setup for a duo in small venues, one guitar one amp one mic.
@@jamesjams5085 Same! I was so impressed by how the Acoustasonic tele in the fifth position actually quacks like a tele. I thought the acoustasonic was a gimmick but that combined with the playability of it - lightweight and resonant but a narrow nut width and manageable neck, the thin body… I was sold. I just had so much fun playing it.
IT seems better to me than the Tele version. It reminds me very much of the Ovation Adamas slims bodied guitars on the acoustic end, but with a few more tricks up its sleeve. I think it could fit very well on a worship team or as a frontman's guitar. Does it sound good direct into the board?
I think I like my J45 and D28 better. What did you not like about it? Some specs like nut width, scale length, profile and it be good to know the string gauge. Good review and thanks. Not sure how I'd sing with it.
@@JeremySheppard thanks. I've been putting Stringjoy 11s on my short scale acoustics. I think you? & Tony reccomended them. They are really nice on my 00-28 12 fret. Thanks

That was a great review, fantastic to see your excitement. I was wondering if you tried to play it with a slide and if so could you give your thoughts?
@@JeremySheppard I am learning to play slide and was wondering if this guitar would be a good fit. I'm taking lessons on line and my teacher, Justin Johnson, is using an electric guitar. Was just thinking this might be a good guitar for learning slide and other projects.
@@mib7483 Good choice of teachers... after watching one of Justin‘s videos on a wash bucket guitar he got from Delta groove I had to commission one myself.. A friend of mine named Rick Smith bought Delta Groove guitar But still went ahead and made me one in cocoa Florida sad to say he passed away last year.
These acoustasonics are really remarkable pieces of engineering, but I think they've kinda lost their luster for me. I'd much rather spend 1K on a nice electric and 1K on a nice acoustic, instead of 2K on one of these. I suppose that these things could solve problems for frontpersons who want to gig on a single guitar, but I don't see it as a great burden to schlep two guitars.
My question is, why have they now done this with a Tele, Strat and Jazzmaster? Can they really be all that different? The Stratacoustic initially got pretty bad reviews from the community, from what I remember.
This is pretty different than the strat and tele. This has actual modeling for the acoustic sounds and a humbucker. It's a little bigger so sounds better too. It's biggest hurdle will be people who didn't like the older attempts.
@@JeremySheppard I have watched yours and Dovydas' reviews. Hopefully people will give them a fair shake and not base it off the older 2 models then. I like how you did it from the standpoint of an acoustic player and showed all the different voicings, where his angle at it being a primarily electric player was being able to acheive both types of sounds out of a single guitar while gigging.
ok, accidentally watched this Jeremy! Accidentally, because I've been avoiding these Jazzmaster Acoustasonic reviews - every RUclipsr got one, it was annoying!! BUT - I have to say, your review was different. I liked your approach, the two different amps - great job on making a review different than everyone else!
Not sure about the sound you get from Amps, would they sound better plugged directly into a mixer ? I thought the guitar already had amp modeling built in, so maybe is the reason why the sound ain’t that great ? Cause you are playing an amp modeled sound into another amp
And Dovydas as well. Fender sends it to their influencers to use for a few weeks (secretly) and then they have a reveal day (probably today) where they all make and release videos about it.
All Acoustasonics are made in the Fender Custom Shop facility by a dedicated team. They include an advanced electronics package developed in conjunction with Fishman. None of that comes cheap. And yet still cheaper than a Taylor T5 or a Les Paul Standard.

@@JeremySheppard I always find that odd. I know all these reviewers do the same but I think everyone wants to know the price. I just figure Fender says that you aren't allowed to say the price.
Jeremy, I love you man...but, hate that you have to promote stuff to do your thing. I wish you could just do your thing but understand you have to pay the bills. If anyone at Fender asks, I personally think the Acustasonic is a huge waste of resources. I'd like to seem them build something like a non-relic nitro Tele with modern compensated brass bridge, noiseless pickups, modern string tree and nickel silver frets. BTW, the tweed deluxe sounds pretty good.
Those guitars are ugly, just a gimmick guitar cause fender is running out of ideas, I mean you can only tweak a guitar design so much..all they really do nowadays is upgrade the pickups
What am I missing with these new Fenders!?! Over priced. Sketchy acoustic tone. Decent electric sound. I don’t get it. Buy a decent electric new or used, and get a good used acoustic with a pickup. You can get both for about the price you’d pay for this thing. The hybrids are over-hyped IMHO.
No hate here, but this guitar sounds really bad, it sounds so dynamic caped, and the electric modulation is straight shi*. Do not get it why fender is making these overcomplicated choices, very gibsony 2015 for me.
This thing SUCKS!!! It's passible on the SFX, only just. On the 5e3, it thumps like a kid on a gamer's woofer or outrageous car thumper, it's got an obnoxious top end, and mids? what mids? Overall, either amp, it SUCKS!! Heard through Sony 7506 cans, noted for being flat, not pushing bass or highs.

Thanks, Andrew. It seemed to me the immediate place to start. This is a coooool guitar, not for everyone but perfect for certain players.
I used to have a Taylor T5...hated it...didnt do electric or acoustic as well as an electric or acoustic....this sounds better!
I also had a trailer T5Z. Never bonded with it at all and sold it. Wound up getting a Les Paul standard.

No, it does well on the tweed deluxe. I'd probably use it with an AB and run a small amp and into the PA.
