My husband was the same way, very giving and
Intuitive to my feelings, he was 18 and I was 19!
We have been married for 33 years now!
Praise God!
Wow. The Kool Coles and the Gerber Fam: two of the most charismatic couples that I know of on RUclips. That's pretty wild. MORE!
Brian gets it! There truly is a subconscious bias. My husband is also Caucasian of mostly Irish, English, German descent. He grew up in a predominantly white area but wasn’t raised to be prejudice. However, as a young boy he often heard ethnic stereotypes and derogatory terms used by his family. He ignorantly thought the word “colored” was not offensive nor inappropriate to use. He didn’t mean anything by it and thankfully our gracious friend who’s also a minority/African descent politely corrected him. This was in the late ‘80s in California. Yep! Hubby and I have been together ever since.🥰 I, of Asian descent can relate to misconceptions regarding ethnicity. Hate to say this but be prepared and always aware that some stupid assumptions based on so-called ‘race’ can suddenly crop-up out of nowhere. Prejudice still exists. Sometimes it’s veiled or subtle but it may also be just an innocent faux pas. Try to be gracious but it’s also perfectly fine to correct someone politely. Just be confident and don’t ever let a racist bother you.
I digress….lol…but what I meant to share was during the Trevon Martin tragedy, my husband and I were greatly divided and had opposing viewpoints. Subconsciously, he had tainted views and negative perceptions of black men in hoodies as though such attire automatically suggests a black dude is up to no good. The news media portrayed Trayvon Martin in that same disturbing and deadly stereotype therefore he was guilty and deserved his fate. So devastating and a scary thought that if any minority is dressed in a similar fashion and happens to be walking in a certain neighborhood, their life could be in danger. For many whites, it’s hard to empathize with us minorities who often have to navigate around such issues. Over the years, my husband finally learned to recognize covert prejudice and discrimination. He concedes that I am not being too hypersensitive. Prejudice and racism still remains in some people’s hearts.
On a positive note, there is now more diversity! Always love and protect one another. God bless your marriage and beautiful families.❤😇
The term "coloured" was created by biracial south africans ! You dim wit ! Where both parents are biracial
Mixing is an abomination in the sight God even animal mixing is sinful, it's amazing so many self proclaimed Christian don't understand this in scripture.
I am so proud of Brian and Lexi for accomplishing the cartwheel trick!👏🏽👏🏽😁😁😁 so cool that you all got to interview them-yay!🤗
Lexi is literally gorgeous 😍
Absolutely GREAT Podcast.... I was soo into this discussion; I didn't MOVE.... Keep it Up Family
The Coles are Awesome!!!❤🎉👍👍👍
I enjoyed this episode so much. I pray that it does spark more conversations around relationships in general. It’s about your standards in what you want in a relationship not about ethnicity. ❤
Thank you so much for this episode. I truly enjoyed and connected with it on so many levels. I am an African American woman and my husband is Irish English American. We have been together for almost 48 years and married for 43. We also met at 19 while in Junior College. It was my 2nd interethnic relationship and his first. We have two sons ages 41 and 39 and we also taught them they don’t have to deny one side just to fit in. One son definitely looks mixed while the other son get mistaken for Hispanic. Thank you again for this podcast it was deep, informative and insightful. ❤️💙🩵🩵
Great video guys! The skating is a great way to get everyone « warmed up « for whatever conversation flows afterwards. I look forward to seeing more of these couple’s interviews ❤
What an AWESOME conversation this is!!! I love it! And i agree with conversation regarding "men." A man is man first. Its about the upbringing and how they respect morals....regardless of race. Pray for a "good" man/woman who loves you, respects you, cares for you deeply and considers your feelings and who can listen to you with patience. It all goes well in a relationship when he/she has the qualities. And he/she is a good forgiver!😉
Awesome!! I love both families...so glad I found this podcast. So creative with the skating challenge at the beginning...great idea and unique. Best wishes to you Gerber family.
I loved this conversation!!!!! Always love Brian and Lexi!!
So much respect for Brian sharing/admitting that he had some underlying biases/prejudices early on. I am all for people getting better, so no need to hang people's sins or errors over their heads! Thank you for your honesty!
Wow! This was so powerful, prophetic and beautiful! I loved this! Divorced twice, i pray that God will do it for me again! God is truly a matchmaker! You could not make this stuff up!
The two of you have something truly special going on with the Cool Conversations. It was a great topic and it was nice to see the honest, sincere comments by the Coles and your family. It's sad how people can sometimes judge and make insidious comments but it seems like all are prepared to answer the tough questions. I love the part of the Cole family when they had the deep discussion after the Trayvon Martin death. You really have to dig deep and understand what you are embracing when you date inter-ethnic. I love Mariyah comment about marrying someone who loves you for who you are not the color of your skin. Loved this conversation. The world needs to hear it. I subscribed to The Coles. They are also an awesome couple. Thank you Gerber family.👏👏👏👏
I enjoyed listening too Brian and Lexi even though I have seen and heard how you met the romatance and spirituality but evidently I needed to hear this today. Again, so romatic and inspiring. Thank you Gerber couple for interviewing the Cole couple. Love you all.❤
OMG you all taught them advanced skills. 😮 Bravo to them for even considering doing those skills 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
I am in an interracial marriage as an older couple… both couples are so inspiring! Thank you
This was a great interview, and I learned more about you as a couple. Thank you!
I applaud you all and celebrate your love. I am Christian, African-American, 50 plus year old and I empathize with what you all go through as couples.
Great video!!!! Don’t stop doing what you’re doing. This was so informative.
Always loved The Cole Life! Delighted to see this conversation! Cheers! 🎉🎉🎉
Such a necessary conversation to have and then develop and evolve. How do we as interracial/multi-ethnic couples find ways to put our "words" into action appropriately on both sides of the spectrum? It's probably something we don't even think is possible, and then when we do we have no outlets readily available.
I can't tell you how much joy seeing these two couples brought me. I literally squealed in my kitchen and stopped what I was doing for air when I saw The Coles on here. I thought I was dreaming. This interview gave everything it was supposed to give. I've never seen more 'meant to be together' people in one place before. Thank y'all for doing this.
Great convo!
Oh wow! So cool to see the 4 of you.

I totally enjoy this conversation on so many levels. I have two biracial brothers so this has been great for me and I will share with them!!! Love who you love… as long as your person treat you with respect and make you feel like a Queen in and out your castle. I love the fact it was a conversation at the table to bring the families in. Loved this episode ❤
Literally on the ice!
COOL!
Nice to meet The Coles!❤
This is a beautiful thing to be happening now.
This conversation is phenomenal.
For the record, I was raised by an interracial couple. My mother is Black and my step-father (RIP, PapaSmurf!) was Caucasian (English/Irish/German). So, there was a lot of teaching and learning in my household.
I, too, have had co-workers say to me, I should paint my face black over something that was equally available to all staff members.
They found out because one of them was attempting to give me a piece of work for the time I'd be out and I decline the work stating I'd out of the office.
They didn't bother to investigate how I was able to do take advantage of this, they assumed I took advantage of and was getting some special, preferential dispensation because of my race.
I told them it was inappropriate immediately, and took my grievance to HR, who then tried to gaslight me.
However, I was determined and wanted it documented for my protection and posterity.
The ignorance is real and too often people misunderstand the dynamics of two people being together from two different racial identifies.
On a lighter note, men, if you're watching this, Brian has provided you with the cheat sheet to winning over that special someone!😂
We've seen Peter do his thing too. So, they're no more excuses.😂
I REALLY liked this one. Lots of pointers to really think about. I watched it twice 😅, to get a better understanding about some issues you guys face.
I'm sure we will discus those idea and topics with our (Peter's) Family when we get together. I am myself curious if our conversation will take difensive turn or not; especially with the Seniors and the older generation.
I just love this because this very true and keep speaking true in all these area remember love is not a color its a heart condition and if just do what God teach us we wouldn't have a problem with who we marriage I'm truly enjoy this y'all are amazing keep up the good work may God continue use both of you
I love it!❤❤❤❤
Great episodes!
I love #TheColeLife!!!❤❤ I said "He's a Good man Savannah, too"!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Great interview ✌🏾 Thanks for sharing this with us, Gerbers!!!
Great conversation!

Brian, the Brain lol (the title)
Such a great interview
Good conversation 😊
I love it 💞 !!!!
OH MY GOODNESSSS!!! I loveeee the story of the Coles on how they met!! He is such a romantic. I only hope and pray that i can meet someone as loving, kind, thoughtful and DRAMATIC!😅😅😅 Do I need to search Amazon?!?!?🤔😁
Awww i love thecole life. Hope you guys hang with Gabebabetv ❤
My favorite love story @the cole life❤️❤️❤️
Love the Gerbers, but if i was a guest - there is no way they'd get me on that ice (fake or not)!!😂😂
That was fun yet made me think.
I love the skating lessons. I don't have skates or the flooring I just skate in my head.🥰🥰🥰
I understand why Lexi’s ex-best friend ghosted her. She was hurt. I think Lexi wanted Brian because if not, why would you ask her if it’s okay if you two were around each other? Beginning the story with a disclaimer speaks volumes.
“Ladies if he wanted too, he could”
RIGHTHFULLY SO LMAO
The Coles ought to start training! They are quite good.
I LOVE THAT CONVO!!! i need help yall....i love my black wife ....she is amazing.....but her family (dad and uncles) are VERY outspoken and opinionated
2023, I have found over the years it is your business whom you choose to marry. My goal is to marry some one of a like mind. Fine and handsome do help! 😊 I'm just saying.
In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King. It's not the color of the skin but unto the content of the character! We all bleed red blood.
Animals also bleed red doesn't mean we are also the same.
Hi Peter. I want a skating rink like that too. Where can you buy this
I love black woman
👏👏👏❤❤
*_algorithm_*
I don't feel like it's about color. It's who your attracted to...who you fall in love with. I've dated black men, and rn I'm with a white man. My dad is Chinese, my mom is Puerto Rican & Black. If you find someone to love you and treat you right, does it matter what their color/race is?
People bring up slavery...white slave owners made children with these black woman. There were also white slaves. And what about what jews went through being burned alive...Defiance...
Everyone been through something. This world is damaged enough without having the cold of our skin to still be an issue after all these years.
Yeah 😏
Still Unnatural Race Mixing
How is interracial different from inter-ethnicity ?
The word ‘interracial’ is a misnomer. Our One and True Almighty God created just one HUMAN race with many different ethnicities. We are all one race, one blood.
It’s more accurate to use descriptions such as inter-ethnic, multiethnic, intercultural or multicultural. These two couples are beautiful.🥰
What do you mean how? The skin colour is a big clue for a start 😂 doofy
@@LiverPools-ib5fv Big clue for what? You mean like where or what country a person originates from? That’s not even a reliable nor accurate way to know. One could be “White” and still be a native of Africa or any country. There are also Black people who doesn’t necessarily have any ties or connections to Africa.
@@eventhorizon7163 No where in the Bible doesn't Yahweh say everyone came from Adam except one creation which the Israelites/Adamites which give from historical accounts of what they looked like. Stop spreading false translations of scripture. Basic Anatomical and Biological differences show Races aren't the same.
Alexis and Brain???? It’s Brian
I was looking for this comment
Not different races, but different ethnicities. There’s only one race and that’s the human race.
Race differences was a Colonial European construct developed to divide and conquer.
Furthermore, God sanctions your union, so nothing else matters.
We celebrate you!
Anatomical and Biological differences clearly show that we are different Species Ethnicity is for example Irish and German but they are still White, White and Black are completely different species not ethnicities.
18:46 So you married him because he gave you things... ☑
Teach your biracial children about their true identity which is they are not blk nor white, they are BIRACIAL and the society sees them as biracial the earlier you educate them on this topic the better.
Black Americans have convinced biracials they're black 😂 it's too late. Biracials will remain confused and delusional
