For about 6 years I was the fire keeper for a Native American sweat lodge. And I also kept fire for my circles rituals. For a year and a day I collected a piece of charcoal from every sacred fire I worked. And I used it to make my black salt. I was able to make a huge batch, which I shared with all the members of my circle. I still have a tiny bit left.
In my opinion, activated charcoal is the most important ingredient in black salt because of its binding and absorbing properties so using color to make it black wouldn't have the same effect. I also put eggshell powder in mine for protection.
Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the dye option either. Love the eggshell addition!

Awesome, you are fantastic🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤👍👍👍👍🕸🕸🕸🕸using cayenne and red pepper flakes heat up the hex or curse or boost the repellant of the black salt..I make my own charcoal using tree sticks from the yard and my fire pit, any small tin will work to cook the tree sticks, its fun

Instead of a charcoal disc, could I use charcoal powder? It's the kind used for teeth whitening.
Yeah, I think that would totally work!
It would eliminate the accelerant chemicals that make the charcoal disks light quickly. I prefer to avoid miscellaneous additives and only use ingredients which have a specific relationship to my intentions.
What if my salt comes out gray and not black? How can I make it black? I used a whole roll of charcoal. Obviously my salt ratio is off. I know that. Thank you.
Mine usually ends up more gray with black specks in it and it's still plenty effective. As long as you have all of the ingredients, your batch is probably fine.

How are you feeling now? Any better? I had covid Oct. 2020 and it took me a while to get back to normal. Hope you're well!
@@BewitchingBemused I am not back to where I was before I got sick (i tested positive the first week of October), but I am definitely starting to get better, this week is the best I have felt since getting sick, I’m still short of breath and tired but hopefully things will get back to normal soon-I was in the hospital overnight about 4 weeks ago getting fluids and on oxygen for the night so I have come a long way since then.
I am only 26 and don’t smoke or anything so I never thought it would effect me like it has or for as long as it has.
I'm so sorry to hear how difficult it has been! I definitely didn't have it that bad, but it's so crazy how it affects everyone so differently. Scary how unpredictable it can be. I'm glad you're doing better though! A little closer to full recovery every day.
