I sometimes dream of starting my own car company, to make cars like this again. Simple, yet timeless designs, that everyone loves, especially I dream about making a car like the AE-86 Hatchback, in the modern age, with the retro look and interior. Love the 86, I hope it and the owner best of times and drives!

Well actually I was contemplating this too. I scroll down and I found your comment. If I had enough money, I would definitely setup a small but proper plant that will simply re make the cars from scratch, engine included. I would first of all buy the rights from the original companies and hopefully get all the info on those models. If there is a way around this, that is also fine. My main objective would be to make these cars slightly modern, like introducing airbags, Modern gauge cluster and a slightly better dashboard, not too much improvement otherwise the whole aesthetic will be ruined. And of course some bad known issue will have to be resolved as well, like improved gear boxes. 6 AT where possible, 6 Manual where possible. There are a lot of iconic classic cars that people lust after. I will have to rebrand these cars of course e.g SAZ AE86 or SAZ Esprit etc.. And yes, I will ship all over the world. All in all, I just want people to enjoy classic cars just like I do. I really hope that dream comes true, because I really do have the skill and the will to run a small company like this and just give people the cars that they really want.
I have a kouki coupe and my son has the panda zenki hatchback. He showed me the Initial D anime. Somehow I missed it growing up. I could tell this was something special and would likely go up in value. We got them right as they were disappearing from the market for a reasonable price. His has the 20 valve engine swap from Japan built by some historical guy and he can't even drive it here because of smog regulations.😢 Mine has the 16V 4age so it's legit. It's got a Tomei LSD, manual steering, fresh top end and tranny plus Technotoy LCAs and rear links. It's red with gold Spectre Racing wheels. It's got a Turbo flow muffler which is like half of a Corvette exhaust and it goes Braaaap! I still want fresh paint, to fix the pop-up headlights and reupholster the seats then it'll be pretty much done. It's already become almost too historically valuable to pitch it sideways and I want to keep the milage under 200,000 and it's at 180,0000 so I am rocking some cheaper Miata NBs for fun lately. I still love driving the ae86 once in a while just because it is something special! Who knows how long they'll let us drive gas cars anyway, gotta drive like there's no tomorrow. I was in Malaysia for a really nice trip. We went from Singapore to Penang and up to Thailand. We were in KL for a night but it was Ramadan and everything was shut down. Thanks for the daytime tour!

Not only that but Initial D didn’t help with what the car costs now bc if the popularity of the series and the manga. Also the song DEJA VU I HAVE BEEN AT THIS PLACE BEFORE is also from initial D. It's the same right-hand drive as Japan! There are not many cars close to normal in Japan, so I envy them!
