  • In this Holy Week devotional video series, Pastor Jim Davis walks us through the events of Jesus’s final week leading to his crucifixion and death.
It doesn’t look like a lot happens on this day, but it does. The events of this day happen behind closed doors as Caiaphas, the High Priest, gathers the religious leaders and one infamous traitor: Judas.

I've been a Christian for many years and have long loved holy week. This is the first time I've heard a chronological narrative of the events of holy week. Nothing new to me, but having it put in sequential narrative form is really helpful. Thanks very much!

This video series has been the highlight of my week. Thank you for the breakdown and simplicity of describing Holy Week as we try to draw into the story this week.

    Judas commits suicide.
Is that not a form of repentance ?
Is there forgiveness for Judas, who regrets his betrayal ?
Or is this the one and only sin that cannot be forgiven ?
Does the betrayal by Judas not represent our betrayal of God in some way, going all the way back to Adam and Eve ?
Does he not represent all of our sin in some way, because if it were not for our sin, no new covenant would have been needed and no Saviour need die on the cross.
I always find this part of the story difficult to understand and put into clear perspective as we are all sinners regardless of how bad or small our sin is.
So we didn't betray Christ, but we betrayed God and that led to him giving us Jesus to die for our sins out of unconditional love.
    What an enormous debt.
