    I wish people would understand that back in the 80s and 90s we as kids were not allowed to set in the house all day every day our parents made us go outside as soon as woke up,the kids we played with on the block was like family so as you became a teen or young adults you ran with and fought with and for your hood or block..

    It’s ridiculous that people tried to turn a miscommunication into a beef. 2pac clearly had love for Tribe. He heard his music being played so he went on stage. Why people try to make that out into a beef is beyond me. Even with everything that went on, he never dissed Tribe. There was a rapper from New York who’s name I can’t recall at the moment who made a diss song to Pac about this very incident, and Pac made a diss song back going at the dude who made the diss track but not going at Q-Tip at all. He was basically saying in the song that it was an honest misunderstanding and he had no issues with Tip.

    I was at this Source Awards in '94. This is the 1st time I've heard someone explain what happened. Q-Tip was about to receive an award but the sound man started Pac's music and Pac & the goons took the stage. Q-Tip didn't leave, he just stared at Pac. If this award show was televised, everyone would've saw it

    • @sms130official
      @sms130official Год назад +33

      Yep, apparently the sound man played 2Pac's music at the wrong time. The cue was a miscommunication and 2Pac didn't intend to do that to Tribe. It was a mistake. According to Busta (I think) A Tribe (including Q-Tip) was mad about it at first. It was resolved with 2Pac letting Q-Tip know that there was no issue and that he didn't nor wouldn't do that them. It was all love. Now 2Pac did later feel some type of way towards Q-Tip. I think that did come from Q-Tip doing a freestyle that appeared on a Doo Wops mixtape. To be fair, 2Pac did sample A Tribe on Last Ones Left and I'm not referring to the posthumous released mix. I'm referring to the unreleased original version.

      Q-Tip was surrounded by Gs and OGees in Zulu Nation and from Queens. B-O from the Bronx (rest in peace) who was street cat in Zulu Nation was one of many street dudes that had Q-Tip's back, front and side. Can't forget Chris Lighty (rest in peace), who made the transition from the streets to the board room, he was a live n*gga. The Violator crew before it was management company and record label, was a street crew that was an offshoot from Zulu Nation. And they held down DJ Red Alert the club Union Square as his security squad in a sea of wild Brooklyn n*ggas. I'm from Brooklyn, and Chris Lighty put hands on some reputable Brooklyn cats.
      So yeah, this is just a glimpse of who surrounded (and still surround) Q-Tip. Tip ain't some soft artist n*gga. Native Tongues got tested a couple times in nightclubs in NYC in the late 80s and early 1990s, and they had to beat some n*ggas down to make a point.
