Can we operate 5v items in place of 240V items. What changes needed?

Offcourse you can operate 5v devices instead of 240v devices as well, No specific changes needed for 5v Ac devices just feed 5v Ac instead 240v Ac, if u want to operate 5v Dc circuit connection will be same as well but in that case you have to feed positive and negative accordingly instead of phase and neutral!!!

You can drop 12v or 9v to 5v by using voltage regulator IC 7805, so use it in between if you have 12v/9v power supplies.
