i went with a 2 YEAR OLD. her first movie theater experience bc her momma (my cousin) has always been soo connected to wizard of oz and wicked (her dog of 10+ years is named ozzie bc if this) so it meant so much to her to take her baby girl to see it and i couldn’t BELIEVE how well behaved she was. truly a beautiful film that effortlessly had this 2 year old absolutely captivated and leaving telling me im “her new project” as she demands i play popular
im also this 2 year old’s nanny and i told my cousin id take care of her during the movie if need-be because i understood how much the movie meant to her and i didnt have to do anything she was so into the whole film i was so proud. this kiddo also reminds me so much of ember as i am a loooooong time listener who uses ‘chattybroad……” as a password for things
I’m super impressed that Evan loved it so much. I saw it over the holiday with a large family group and the responses were mixed. Fun to hear you guys gush about it. 😊
Oh my gosh Jess I didn’t know I could love you more until now hearing that you love Muppet Christmas Carol so much it is by far my favorite and the best Christmas movie of all time
Thank you M&D💙 I saw it yesterday - never saw the stage play. Incredible. The story of a loving friendship between women was a bonus to the phenom performances and storytelling and Easter eggs. I want a goat.
Love your love of musicals ! My dad turned me on to them when I was 16 back on 1976! With South Pacific and Oklahoma when they were on tv 📺 too saw original cast of Wicked in NYC 2008 Love Evan crying ❤️
The girl flirting at work is perplexing. It’s the man’s fault completely for starting it but it doesn’t make her a particularly great person either. I’d feel sick to entertain a man in a 8 year relationship. He’s going to be a problem. Why would anyone want to be involved in that? I don’t get it. A need for attention? Look for a single person and save yourself the headache. 😑
I feel Jess so hard with the crying at muppets Xmas Carol. I have deep deep love and yeah I find myself crying at new and sillier parts and songs of that movie pretty much every year.
Wicked is definitely my new favorite movie now too. I've wanted to see the musical since I was a kid and finally getting to see the movie was so incredibly magical. I also balled my eyes out in the theater 😭
Wicked movie won me over 🤯 I don’t lovee musicals but I enjoy them every now and then. I didn’t read the book or watch the broadway show. Although I am an Ariana fan, I was sooo over the crazy press tour in the media and was afraid her popstar image would eclipse the character. However, I was proven so wrong! I decided to watch it last minute and as soon as the movie started and the title “wicked” popped up on screen I was locked in. The first few minutes really set the tone, i wasn’t expecting the ominous atmosphere that at all. I can’t remember the last time a movie captured my attention the whole way through. I agree with Evan: I can’t wait for part 2 (which I don’t know anything about, I want to go in blind again). And I want to rewatch part 1 just to witness greatness again.
Evan’s take on Nessarose is SO CORRECT I was nearly screaming at her in the theater! She’s the worst!!!! And I don’t think it gets any better in Act 2 unfortunately
I love you guys but I gotta skip this one. I do not gaf about wicked and I can’t willingly sit through any more wicked propaganda when it’s already being force fed to me by the media at large. See y’all in the next one ✌️
Evan crying to defying gravity is the funniest yet greenest flag ever, it’s the way he’s telling it!
Loved hearing you guys talk about Wicked! I hope you do it for part 2 as well when it comes out ❤ another great episode!
Evan knowing all the Wicked fun facts makes my heart so happy 😂😂
Evan: you don’t need to get me into Muppets carols
Jess: I knowww, that’s what makes me so nice
LOVE the Wicked break down. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Act 2
Oh how I loveee watching the evolution of Evan 😂 great episode, love you guys SO much.

I also loved Wicked! I have the soundtrack on repeat since I watched it last week. The Ozdust ballroom scene had me balling.
Sometimes movies make me emotional and , I have to find out, why. ... It's usually Human Kindness and The Kindness of Strangers.

One of best movies of 2024. The singing, acting unbelievable. I can’t remember the last time I cried and laughed at a movie!!!❤

Looking forward to The Later Daters!
It was interesting to hear Evan's takes on the production of the vocals in Wicked.

My husband doesn’t cry often maybe three times in fifteen years. I cry at everything lol. But the end scene in Coco with the grandma got him 😭.
I’ve been waiting for this!! 🥳🥳 🧙♀️
Stephen Schwartz and Defying Gravity = pure magic
Evan I challenge you to listen to Frank Ocean's version of moon river
The craziest fun fact to know about The Later Dater’s is Michelle Obama is the executive producer!!!!

What was the podcast Evan was listening to where cynthia was talking about her workout stuff?
Does Evan need to watch Muppet treasure Island?
