I really like your reaction and hearing you take on the differences from the book was cool. Just the volume on the show was so low I couldn't hear it and the captions were below the edge of the screen. I had already seen it so it didn't bother me too bad but just thought I would tell you Incase you wanted to fix it for other viewers. Thank you!!!❤
The engineering trope has a little base in identity politics and general romance tropes. Leads are often in engineering because they want them to look desirable, in a similar manner to the c/kdrama rich ceo trope, and portray them in a hyperpositive light. It was si heavy handed & overused in the beginning bcuz it was a new genre they wanted to make sure ppl tuned in and stayed, esp since there's a fair amount of apprehension to queer stories.
