I have seen the trains plunging down into first tunnel at a steep gradient at Khandala while going towards Karjat. We can feel the down gradient. The locomotive crew do the brake check at that location and bring the train to full halt. Then we can see brakes released and as train moves ahead without the power locomotive and the brakes are applied to full stop. Then crew give signal by horns as all OK to the control. Then the control tower clears the signal. Same process is repeated at Monkey Hill.
Those are banker engines. Karjat se Lonavala ke bich mein sabhi trains ke pichhe lagaye jaate hai support provide karne ke liye, kyuki gradients bohot hai Bhor ghat mein.
This is something different i saw in last few years... But i did saw some Freights in like this situations while they enter lonavla.. It was like out of 3 only one banker works while entering Lonavla
You must have noticed the trains climbing a very steep gradient, that may not be achieved just by a single loco, that's why banker engines are attached at the rear end to provide support. Such gradients lie in the entire stretch from Karjat to Lonavala.
I don't know if there's any technical reason for it but I guess it happens because the trains have to climb a steep gradient before entering Khandala and once they reach a flat surface the trains accelerate.
Since Deccan Express has a halt here, a decent crowd had gathered to board it and I couldn't shoot without them coming in the way. That's why I missed it.
1:03 😳😳😳 3 Engines at the back and 1 in front .. wow 😮 Totally 4 Engines... Later slowly I understand that the rear end 2,3 ENGINES help front end ENGINE to pull the train.
Yes, they're attached at the rear end to provide the extra push for climbing the gradient. Similar such gradients lie in the entire stretch of 25 kms from Karjat to Lonavala.
That WCAM-3 idling sound 😍😍😍 ...... Keep it up !!!
Also a good idling sound of WAG-7 and WCAM-3😍
4:55--5:04 👍👍
Super...

Near pune.& Mumbai
Great video capture. For every train there are two/three rear engines. The gradient must be steep
Indeed, it's a steep gradient. Similar such gradients lie in the entire stretch from Karjat to Lonavala.

Video title should be even seen the train doing the climbing not do anyways nice vlog
When the bankers return from Lonavala, do they apply electric braking down the slope and generate electricity (and supply back to the grid) like EMU?
No, it's all mechanical.
MagnIfico 😮😮😮😮😍😍😍😍😍✌️✌️✌️✌️👍👍👍👍
These extra engines get separated in Lonavala
Yes, they do.

An apt explanation of the entire process 👍🏻
Desel is power full loco morive
First time saw the LV sign board on front of a train.
Har train k piche extra locomotive kyu lage Hain????????

Awesome Video... I am seeing this for first time.. Even though there are Triplets banking.. Only two are live... 3rd dead!
I noticed it after reading this comment.

Station looks so beutiful
Yeah, it looks amazing during monsoon season.
True
swapnil joshi Sir Honnawar Railway Station on the Konkan line is even more beautiful
WAG-7 frieght😍😍 1:29
nice collection
Thanks
Nice curving and chugging of trains at Khandala. 👍. Good capture.
Each train has two or three bankers . Nice video.
Thanks
@@AyushKamal do you know any reason behind why some trains are alloted 2 bankers while others 3?
@@gauravv3367 There's no such criteria, it all depends on the arrival sequence of trains. If you notice carefully, out of the 3 only 2 are active.
Super
Mst..
Thanks
Classical Khandala presentation 😍👌
Does it always rain at that station??
Not really. During rainy season, the rain showers are very frequent. But for the rest of the year, it remains dry.
Very good video beautiful shooting
Fabulous captures
Thanks
Such a lovely, magnificent view... Hats off to the youtuber👌👌👌
Thanks for watching 😊

What's the point of having different nomenclature for passengers and Goods locos when they both are used arbitrarily?
So that railway workers see their stupidity and then laugh at themselves.
Superbly Train...
Awesome...........
Which station is this bro ?
Khandala.
@@AyushKamal Thanks bro
Y indriyani get diesel loco while others get electric??
Because Indrayani Express goes further ahead of Pune Junction, as 12169 Pune - Solapur Intercity Express, which is a diesel route.
Super👌👌

Nice shooting Ayush, kamal kar diya. My point is that when train enters Khandala Stn., front engine gets very slow and then departs very fast, why ?
I don't know if there's any technical reason for it but I guess it happens because the trains have to climb a steep gradient before entering Khandala and once they reach a flat surface the trains accelerate.
@@AyushKamal yes, you are right.
A doubt. Can an EMU manage this gradient?
I don't think so, that's why they don't run beyond Karjat & Lonavala.
Nice
Thanks
Bhai in which state the station is situated.
Maharashtra - between Pune & Mumbai.
You missed deccan express
Since Deccan Express has a halt here, a decent crowd had gathered to board it and I couldn't shoot without them coming in the way. That's why I missed it.
How diesel and electric loco works together is that possible
Well they're not connected together. They're working seperately.
Funny question !
Why most of the locos are from Kalyan shed
Because the nearest loco shed is Kalyan, which could supply a bulky amount of engines for banking duties.
Thank u bro for the information
कैमरा बढ़िया ले लो
इस वाले में क्या प्रॉब्लम है?
3 wag7kisliya hota haaa????
Extra push provide Karne ke liye. Front engine akele gradient pe train ko pull nahi kar sakta.
Nice vids...
Notice 1 thing indrayani exp la triplets aahet attached pan only 2 of them are helping for climbing
1st g7 banker off aahe...
That depends on the sequence they're standing at KJT. But even in any case, 2 are also sufficient enough to push the load.
Epic capture Ayush bhaiya!!!
Thanks
