Sick New World Korn Concert. I grew up listening to Korn and being from Alaska, never got the chance to go to concerts. Korn has always been my #1 band throughout my life. The concert was the day before my 43rd birthday. Shout out to my Gen X people! Thanks to my lovely wife for the ticket! Seeing them live was epic and being able to relive this moment is awesome! While I did get to see a lot of bands at Sick New World, Korn was the main reason I wanted to go.
I was in the VIP section. I would recommend getting VIP as it's worth the money and made my 1st festival experience a great experience. The main stages are separated by general admission. You have to take a long, crowded walk around to get to the other VIP section of the stage. I wanted to see Deftones but also wanted a good spot for Korn, so I just stayed at the Korn stage. The later events will fill up fast and if you want a great view you need to stay by the stage early on. We are talking over 60,000 people in attendance.
The one thing I didn't do was protect myself from the Sun. What a mistake. I was sun burnt bad and it took 2 weeks to heal. I'm still healing.
If you can, bring a hydration backpack so you don't waste time getting water. There will be lines, even for VIP sections. For alcohol, they didn't have any Bourbon. No Jack Daniels, no Jim Beam, nothing! Lucky for me I enjoy other alcohol and ended up with Rum & Coke and Vodka & Orange juice. Bourbon for life! Expect everything to be expensive.
I got there before opening and the lines were long and slow, even for VIP. If you plan on seeing early bands, I recommend being there 1 hour before opening.
I hope you enjoy the video as I enjoyed the concert! If you play guitar, keep jamming! Korn for life!

Same here. 27 years. I still remember owning the Life Is Peachy album and buying their tee shirts before Follow The Leader was released back in 96-97. I still remember buying FTL the week of it's release while I was on a family vacation in South Carolina. Hearing that album for the first time in my hotel room on the beach surrounded by family and friends is a special memory for me.

The stage was insane! I was in front of the stage. My first rime in a festival and my first time watching Korn... best experience ever!

@@stgalaska I saw them 1st @ Krrofest with Slipknot in Sioux Falls in 2009. 2nd was @ 1st Avenue in Minneapolis in 2010. No Head but they were still great…now it’s no Fieldy. I’m going to wait until they are back together for my 3rd.

I got a guitar pick from Munky at the end. I was right near the barrier on his side. This festival was sick and it was so awesome so see johnathan in the purple suit.

I was center stage near the fence and dehydrated but i still moshed until Got The Life when i had to go through the huge crowd to a water station

What a great concert, i was at the rail in the middle from 11am to about 4pm until during evanescence i had to get out because i was so dehydrated, caught the last bit of deftones after i hydrated and attempted to eat food and enjoys the rest of the show from the back of the crowd. I was so disappointed i couldn't hang through the whole day but i still had a great time though

I said the same thing. Maybe it's just me i noticed the band in general wasn't feeling it. They seemed really bored with the crowd.
I was there, and I can tell you that the Las Vegas heat on concrete was fucking brutal.
By the time Korn and System of a Down went on people were straight up passed out on the floor.
Many people towards the front got heat stroke during Deftones.
It's not that people weren't feeling it, we were all just exhausted from 12+ hours in hundred degree weather on concrete.
It's 2023....times changed
Most of the fans are over 30+
I kinda wish people would've put their fuckin phones away for the drop on Blind, whole crowd coulda been jumping but instead half of em had their silly little rectangles out
This band is always awesome live. The quality is stellar for being a crowd video. My only complaint is that with crowd videos you always have to listen to drunken fanboys drowning out the music with their jizzims,,, Thumbs up regardless ;)

Some LED gimmick. I didn't like it. I thought the band was going to stop playing because that screen was moving in the wind.
I Don't think they meant to have it down at the end of the Show, the wind was blowing it around pretty bad, so I think they decided to bring it down.
I have seen a Whole stage Rigging Collapse due to wind.

Ive seen korn 3 times .. while walking the earth. As the years go more cell phones go up over lighters.. showing humanity's preference to the unnatural over what is ordered by nature.

Would I like to see footage now of the shows? Sure. Especially the 1st - opening for Megadeth @ Red Rocks in 'summer of 95.
Would it be worth ruining the energy? Definitely not, but that's what happens today.
Glad I only have memories of amazing experience, rather than footage of a bleh experience.
@@ShastaBean Footage is always going to be bleh though compared to actually being there in the moment live. That's why I always tell fans if you're a legit fan of a band and they mean a lot to you then you really need to go see them live at least once!

@@enceladuisyeah fr, same here! It was packed out the ass and pits were everywhere. We were all standing under the sun from 10:30, when the doors opened, all the way till 12:30am when it ended. That weekend was one of the coolest shits I’ve lived through

Please keep in mind that Fieldy wasn't with them and until you see him do his thing live then sadly this was a n incomplete experience. It;s frustrating for me, his situation.
