Would be better if it had a drop
It was supposed to have one, along with a second level. They couldn't get it to work right, so the park delayed the opening and just made it one level.

The ride feels awkward and all over the place. Lots of time with just silence. Very strange.

Man. I always admire how the animation in those little clips are exactly like in the film. Almost like the animators that made the film made these. Very vintage
Not sure if I want this brought stateside but the American parks are lacking in attractions like this. Universal bring more family oriented dark rides to Florida and California.
Universal studios Hollywood is getting Secret Life of Pets which is looking very promising. And about that comment about "plain rollercoasters" here in the comments. How could you consider Hagrids, mummy, and Gringotts plain at all?
under Simplified all the rides are trash at Disney besides space mountain thunder mountain and splash mountain beside that Disney world is boring and that’s facts
Is it just me or are all the other parks attempting to mimic the house of the mouse, but fail consistently as they put no ♥️ or $ in the the correct places. Animatronics are WAY better than the effort they put into this.

I hope this doesn't get removed for a Minion Mayhem as this ride is great and Minion Mayhem is bad. Mainly as it's just a theater with 4D and so, it's extremley hard to get immersed in it because of it just being a theater. This however, is really well done.
I actually hated this ride... Took so long to wait, in a que with three different kinds of music playing trough eachother, the dead moments in this ride, and suddenly the huge screens near the end made this by far the worst ride I've been on in Universal Studios Singapore. Shrek I also didn't like...
I still think it looks better than Shrek 4D and Minion Mayhem because of it not being a simple 4D theater and it still having physical set pieces.
So, that means that they could also get rid of the Shrek themed area as it's last movie was 9 years ago and it's last main film was a decade ago.
I think that’s wats happening and honestly I kinda like it as it will be replaced with Nintendo world too , this ride , I have rode too many times that I can remember every single thing , even some of their lines !
The Shrek themed area at the same time is not as bad as Madagascar, Madagascar seems to be more targeted to children of a very young age , while Shrek is of children above 7 , as there is a rollercoaster that children wouldn’t dare to ride , plus Shreks queue line has always been Long , proving that many people want and are riding it , while this ride was famous in the past , right now it is only 5 min queue and the queues were all filled with first timers only , this is a nice ride for your first time , but as u continue going again , it will seem Super boring , though I have a younger sister , age below 7 , she doesn’t like this ride much anymore
Wouldn't be a Universal Studios ride without an unnecessary use of screens.

Such a great boat ride! I hope they consider adding this ride to replace the Kidzone in Universal Studios Florida as Dreamworks is owned by Comcast and would make a great fit to include timeless franchises like Madagascar into the park.
Oh and I think they spent so much time working on the background and set that they forgot about how fun the ride actually should be.

Little confused at first with this being dreamworks... also thought this was not universal studios usual standards - then found out its the one in Singapore which is full of low budget rides :-S

Its a really nice park to stroll, nothing spectacular about the rides though. I 'm not quite sure why there was such a big budget for outdoor sets, it really is what sets it apart from other parks.

WATERWORLD at UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD should be demolished to make way for MADAGASCAR island there will be a log FLUME ride titled (MADAGASCAR JUNGLE JURNNEY) it will be a log FLUME ride telling the story from the first movie and it will have water fall drops in it and also have will have a roller coaster ride titted (KING JULIAN'S PLANECOASTER MADNESS) the vehicle will be a track ride the has the vehicle suspended from the track hanging similar to THE NINJA roller coaster also WATERWORLD and the store, trees, and restrooms near and next show will should also be demolished for MADAGASCAR ISLAND

This ride commits the crime all Universal rides usually avoid. In every other ride you are on a new adventure that goes along the premise of the movie while giving a brand new story. This is just a straight retread of the movie without adding anything creative to it. It only exists for people who have seen the movie to go "hey, 'member that part where Gloria had crabs on her?". This makes the ride boring because nothing new or interesting is added to it. I could not imagine wanting to ride this a second time.
It's fun because it's boring :) really it never gets old

My mom was afraid of that a KIDS RIDE i felt safe with my dad but i was beside my mom and my dad was like WERE GONNA DROP NOW GET READY and im like screaming my goodness
I guess the ride is OK, but that sudden silence at the end of the ride felt pretty awkward.

One why would anyone put this pathetic ride in that area in the first place. It’s horrible all the animatronics barely move and really you tell as they look very static. Nothing screams out ride me at all besides the Madagascar logo. The story is pathetic, heck I watched Madagascar and it was a little better than this. The last bit back to the station is a giant dead zone as no music no nothing seriously they could have put something there to put you into a good mood. The boat ride is far too slow dragging on. I would skip this one for sure.
Disney would've done far better than what Universal came up with for this ride.
Madagascar is my favorite movie I watched all the movies of Madagascar but to me I don't think I'll go on this ride even if I'm still a fan of Madagascar this ride looks really slow and nothing from the ride amazed me from this video I think I'll skip this ride and just stick with the movies at least the movies of Madagascar is way better this ride is not the same like the movie at all looks really wack and a waste of money for sure
