My husband and I have just spent two weeks in Japan for Cherry Blossom season and was lucky enough to see it at its best in Tokyo and Kyoto. Whilst in Kyoto, I was desperate to see a show like this and actually found the Miyako Odori by mistake, realising how popular it was and its availability throughout April only, I did not think there would be a chance of getting tickets. We managed to get the last 2 left that were available for the chosen day and as tvee below said - this is magic brought to life, so much that even my husband enjoyed it, initially thinking this would 'not be his thing!' everything about the show is beautiful and stunning and the girls and ladies are something else. if you are in Kyoto for the sakura, make sure you can get tickets to this truly amazing event
I saw it this year (2018) and it was truly stunning and MAGICAL to watch. Watching it hear on RUclips doesn't do it any justice. One has to watch it 'live' to appreciate the gorgeous set designs and the VIBRANT kimonos. The audience gasped in awe when the spring sakura scene came on. What an incredible impression it left on me!
