Hi Micael,, thanks for all the useful tips. I’m shooting a lot of bugs at this time as it’s spring time in Melbourne, baby ‘everythings’ from ladybugs (eggs and larvae) to jumping spiders and even baby praying mantises. I’ll definitely use these tips,, thanks again for sharing 😊
All very helpful tips, all of which I try to use myself together with one more, which is to clone out small distractions like hair, sensor dust, pollen, tiny specular highlights, etc for a cleaner looking result.
Thanks for the many more great tips for amazing macro photos. Going out this weekend to take some, so i will remember to take this advice. Thank you again and keep up the great videos.
Best way is to use a slow shutter speed, make sure there is some sky in the background, or hold some object (like your red sweater) directly behind the subject so that the flash bounces.
@@MicaelWidell thanks buddy. Using an 80D for macros. Also just about to pick up the dedicated ring light from Laowa, will see how much that helps. Cheers.
@@MicaelWidell that was the first video that I noticed it in. So no issues. Love your stuff and your accent. My wife's family is originally from Sweden oh, so it's kind of fun to see your photos of your Homeland.
@@rogeryoung3587 Oh then that is probably the one I have, sorry :) I am 100% sure my monitor is 4K at least. Lovely monitor, super great value for money.

Very good examples and uncomplicated, clear thoughts behind the shots. Thank you🙏
Thank you,
these are a lot of tips (which seem obvious now you have said them) that I wish I had know at the beginning of the summer!
I love the saturated colors in a lot of your backgrounds .

Love the morning dew on rocks image - pleased that I'm not the only person who admits to cheating with a brightly coloured coat.
VERY important information about backdrops contrast colours , composition , depth of field and focus macro photography , thank you sir
Good and well explained ideas👍👍👍
Right amount of info with the right examples for illustration within a well articulated 14 min clip. Bravo And thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!

@@MicaelWidell awesome, I'll try. Greetings from Costa Rica.
this was literally the first to in the video
this was literally the first tip in the video
Awesome video Micael! By the way just got my 25mm 2.5-5x lens from Laowa. The viewfinder is f**kn dark, better get used to it lol. 😀😂
If you use a mirrorless camera, you can make it bright via a setting, check this video: ruclips.net/video/GcM7bgkFWRg/видео.html&app=desktop

Make a video on creative photography
Do you carry coloured cards? Do they shelter the subject from wind, too?
Never tried that but would like to some day. I doubt they will do much against the wind though.
Thank you..
If you look at the camera when talking its more impacful. Love your videos.
Yeah I know, I usually do that but was a bit lazy here :)

what is your editing setup? looks like a mac keyboard with a dell monitor? mac mini?
Dell U2415 4K monitor, 15” MacBook Pro.
@@MicaelWidell Are you sure that the U2415 is a 4K monitor? Dell's website shows its resolution as HD, 1920 x 1200. The P2415Q is 4K though.
@@rogeryoung3587 Oh then that is probably the one I have, sorry :) I am 100% sure my monitor is 4K at least. Lovely monitor, super great value for money.
@@MicaelWidell It's just that I have a U2715 which is 27" and only 2160 x 1440 and I was looking to upgrade to 4K.
@@rogeryoung3587 if you are okay with 24 inch the P2415Q is lovely. I think there is a similar 27 inch 5k model as well, or maybe that was by LG.
Excellent videos. I tried clicking on your mwroll.com link and all I get is "Private Site". What causes this?
Sorry about that, I had forgotten to renew my squarespace subscription :) Works now again.
How did you get the purple backgrounds?
Probably something purple in the background. Maybe a purple flower.
