Yo,Yo Happy Full Show Friday All! Don’t over look this technique it sounds simple but I have used this rig to hammer some 🐷 over the years. Thanks again everyone, all those likes and subs help us win the algorithm and not suck as bad at You Tube. Hit the 👍 on this vid please.
You kept saying, this far north...just wondering what state you were in?
@@kevinpayne4749.... he's in slapshot country 🤘😈
I wish you guys would've touched a little bit more on the terminal tackle..... At the end they mentioned you used a pro V bend jighead but what weight and size hook? Is it an unpainted jighead or what color? What pound flouro leader? Flatworm colors you used? It would be great if there was links to exactly what you used
What an absolute under appreciated episode!! I'm watching this 3 years after its inception and it only has 11k views. Unbelievable with the amount of production quality, great fish, and the fact this is an absolute sick technique. Well done Mr. Mercer, well done...
Flying down the lake with an avenged sevenfold sounding riff. Oh yeah!!! Really gets you pumped for this episode. 🤘🏼 Technique I’ve never thought of trying and now a technique I’ll have to try out! Thanks for the tips and tricks and lesson! 👍🏼
Thanks for always watching dude.
One of my favorite ways to smallmouth fish and don’t forget to try finesse worms the same way
Oh heck ya. I totally agree with ya
Here’s a little history on the float-n-fly technique. I PERSONALLY saw the fuse get lit! Waaaayyyy back in 1992, I was on my local lake, Dale Hollow. (I know, right?) It was late January, water temps were in the mid 40’s. I was throwing red Luhr-Jensen Hot Lips Express along a main lake bluff in between Cedar Hill Marina and Dale Hollow Marina when I heard guys in a boat fishing to my direction laughing and carryin’ on. I saw them boat three nice smallmouth in less than 15 minutes, so I just pulled back from the bluff and let them have it. I eased towards them to ask what they were doing, because I was SURE I saw floats on their lines. “Float-n-fly!” one replied. They were from northern Ohio, and said it was something they always used in cold months. They took a 1/16 oz white with red thread Doll Fly jig (popular in the 60’s and 70’s), and tipped it with an Uncle Josh Fly Strip white in color. They simply attached a weighted foam spring bobber about 10’ up the line using ONLY the bottom float snap. They demonstrated to me how they cast it and worked it, when it went straight down!! A giant 5 lb toad went in the net. I was sold. I fished some 4 days a week at that time, and never heard of anyone doing this outside of crappie fishing. They used modified fly rods, 4-6 lb line, and just “walked” the rig, if anything at all. If there was chop, they imparted no additional action. This, I believe, was the first time (as far as local knowledge goes) that the rig ever was tried on Dale Hollow. Two years later, there was an article in Bassmaster Magazine about the method. We had local companies spring up, specializing in the jig itself, but in a more modern version. Punisher Lures made a great jig for years. Currently, YankUm Takcle has the local preference. Thought I would share this story, as I think I was one of the first south of the Ohio River to witness the start of the craze!
The energy you bring into a simple tutorial video is inspiring to anglers, photographers/videographers and all those who love the sport and I just keep coming back to this one for some reason. Maybe I need to slip on the old float and flat worm this spring. Greattt Video Mr. Mercer!
Love this on 6 lb line and a small float! I have had excellent success on all species over the years with a similar set up. FINALLY got a couple packs of these just last week!!! So excited to have them.
Freakin flatworms with floats on facts of fishing, I love this show! :D
It’s a fun way to catch em
Defi😮nitly first time seeing a fisherman sampling the bait. 👍 guess that's gotta boost the comments like this one 😊
😂😂 figured it was the most organic way possible to showcase the motor. Y’all can have those big lizards !
Good afternoon MC! Your intros get me sooooo pumped for fishing and flying down the lake in my boat dude! Definitely gonna have to try that technique! Imagine when they're on beds, and the wind ain't blowin! FOF'ER FOR LIFE BROTHER!👊🤙👍
Great stuff Dave. Its an awesome technique for schooled up crappie if you're looking for some fish for lunch in between smallmouth bites.
Dude, I feel like I'm experiencing a stroke or deja vu.....I am lovin' it for the second time. I think....
This show has been on TV.
@@factsoffishing Maybe, but I am talking youtube in the last week not so. Has it been posted and I just came across it? #confused
@@factsoffishing Or so....not, not so....
@@ronhinchliffe8160 short clips of the full show have been posted
@@factsoffishing I am definitely having a stroke, or I am psychic........
I’ve got a technique me and my buddy have been hiding in our back pocket for years. Still haven’t seen anyone talk about it, I’m amazed at this point (try a 3/4oz swim jig with a swimbait on the deep weededge). I will definitely use this though. Seems like a no brainer. Ever try it in 15-20? I would think a heavier jig would get it done. Thanks Dave!!
Great show MC I’d like to find one of those nine and a half foot spinning rods down here in NC. As always great job keep it rolling. God bless you and your family.
Gonna try this for largemouths down here in the south
Be a awesome technique for river smaillies here in West Virginia thanks dave
That was a 9ft 6in spinning rod? I hear ya... PYAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Hit the LIKE and COMMENT, get this technique spread out to more fishing fans.
Just found your channel. Love it!!
Ole boys on Dale Hollow and center hill lakes been floating flys for decades
This might be fun with a wacky rig also. I fish a lot of ponds with slimed up bottoms: this tactic would shine in those waters. Also, this would be a great way to transition beginners, especially kids, from using live bait like worms for sunfish to using artificial lures for bass. Thank you, Dave! We know you’re varsity even without you saying it. 👍
By the way, do you prefer the taste of MaxScent or original Powerbait?
Wacky would prolly be deadly like this🤙
How about a FOF Mercer's boat garage tour?
I am sold on this technic.
What size hook?
What colour flatworm?
sweet, how bout that backwards popping cork and rattletrap in port a would have never thunk it
Cocaine is a hell of a drug
it floats for god sake !
overproduced video, is this monster trucks? smh
Music is too loud and too repetitive for my taste.
Sorry to hear that. Hope you find something that works for you.
Sorry to Hate but this dude has over $100,000 ‘s of boat and all he does is Drop Shot 🥱😀
So you’re not sorry lol. I like a drop shot, sorry you don’t. But I’m really sorry.
