When I first visited Spain in the mid 70s, it was unbelievably cheap. I can still remember my first glass of red wine that cost me 3 pesetas! In those days you got 240 pesetas to the gb pound. Lived in Spain in the 90s and still very reasonable. Now the cost of living is similar to other European countries but without the decent salaries. Spain is still a great country though.
I do not agree with you, I am a Spaniard who lives in England and in Spain there are very cheap and affordable apartments and houses compared to England. In England, houses and apartments have exorbitant and abusive prices and the rental prices are also abusive.
The noise, i hate it. Cars, motorcycles. I can cope with music but not at 4 a.m. during a couple of days during celebrations. Love my country but we still have to be educated on realizing that noise is very but for our health.
Good point on the language aspect. I don't get people who live in a country without learning the language. If you ask me, it's a lack of respect. If a country opens its doors, the least one can do is to learn the local language. There is nothing to lose and everything to gain.
i have lived in sweden almost 20 years and just cant learn it. impossible for me. moving to spain will be the same ofc. once over a certain age learning a language becomes impossible

Saying it's impossible is an excuse. What you're really saying that you can't be bothered to make the effort. Please note I'm old, probably much older than you and I've learned Spanish. I'm far from fluent yet but I can do better than get by in most situations. Don't be lazy!

Good analysis of modern Spain, Stu, cheers. Two things that stand out for me: concerning noise, Spain may be relatively noisier than some other countries, but modern Spain is definitely quieter than Spain in the 90s - back then, the noise was impressive. Traffic, bars (bars!! the tv, the slot machines, the people, it was a glorious madness!!), the streets... it was unbelievable. Second, the driving habits: Spanish driving in the 90s was chaotic, dangerous and weird. But since July 2006, when the new traffic laws were introduced, driving in Spain steadily became what it is today: conservative, easy-going. Of course still the odd mad driver out there, but nothing like what I saw in the 90s. In my Euro experience, only Italy was worse....
Many buildings in Spain have zero insulation in the walls so you can hear absolutely everything from flats next door or above. This is also the reason why many of the apartments are freezing cold in winter and using heating does not help as the heat goes straight out and does not stay in.
Reference pets. In my area of Almería the amount of dogs particularly who are dumped is as bad as ever. The local shelters, all run by English are overunn and all manage only by donations and fundraising . Some are dumped when pregnant. Should be a law to neuter.
Spain is not cheap anymore. And with the low salaries a vast proportion of the population are on, its beyond me how they survive. Little wonder the norm these days is for a person to rent share an apartment with others. Particularly in the big cities. As a Spaniard by birth that resides in Australia i can tell you that property prices and rents are very similar in both countries. Electricity and gas is far cheaper in Australia as is petrol. Even most European car brands are cheaper in Australia, which makes no sense at all. Difference is Australian salaries are over all far higher . The purchasing power of the vast majority that ive in Australia is way superior to Spain. Probably the reason why the vast majority of persons you encounter in the centre of Spanish cities these days are tourists. Unfortunately most Spanhards are finding it harder and harder to afford living in their own cities. A real shame.
Thanks for the video. As to the cost of living: I'm here in the US and yeah, we probably make more on average than say Spain or Portugal. My wife and just came back from Portugal. We had dinner in some very posh restaurants in Lisbon and the meal for two with appetizer, main course including a salad, a pitcher of sparkling white sangria, dessert and coffee usually came to 45 to 55 Euros. We've been back home now in the Washington DC suburbs and went to a birthday dinner for my wife. We went to a new local winery, 5 minutes from the house. I had a burger and a beer, she had a salmon salad and two glasses of wine and we had dessert, $109. We got Chinese food from one of our local take out places Monday night. Kung Pao chicken, chicken fried rice, wonton soup for two and two egg rolls. $49. Be careful what you wish for. If you start making more money, you'll just be paying more for everything and still wind up in the same spot financially. Gun culture here in the US is out of control. Here we are in early September and we've surpassed 475 mass shootings.
While I agree with most of your comment you missed an important point. "Shall not be infringed". Do I feel safer in Spain? Absolutely but I also feel safe with a gun here in Los Angeles. If you can't beat them join them. Look at the stabbings in London. It's a damned if you do damned if you damned if you don't.
Nowbody like to live in USA, nothing is good there….no good and miserable health system, normal salary are nothing, no much vacations, no rights in work, and if you rent the go just up with princesses , you never get back your deposit, if you study you needs to pay 20 years back the credit…..and and and, to much guns and even children kill with gun, so much other crimes, no newer, how like that…Portugal is same terrible, people are nice like in USA but fake to not have any conflict, the newer help you, the salary are so down 700 normal even not so that’s why the food was so cheap! Useful video. There has been an increase in big storms and flash flooding in Spain in the past few years. The north of Spain is cooler and has a different type of weather. It is said that people are also a bit friendlier in the north. However, there can be quite high winds and heavy rains in the north, particular in the winter months. One topic that has not been addressed is racism. Spain is still quite racist (conscious and unconcious). Your experience of visiting or living in Spain will vary widely depending on which country you are from, what your native language is, your accent, and particularly, how fair or dark your skin colour is. You will be treated more favorably the lighter your skin colour is and less and less favourably the darker your skin colour is. You will be served first if you are fair skinned and from Germany or Sweden for example, over people from countries such as countries of Latin America and those who are darker skinned. If you are on your own, you will often be ignored and/or treated in a hostile manner at the more touristy cafes and restaurants that only want couples or groups that they think will spend more money and leave more tips. You will also get a table more easily and be served with preference if you are white and blonde or have in your group others who are white and blonde than if you don´t. This is partly due to the fact that the waiters believe that you may come from a more well-off country and have more money to spend than people who are darker skinned. These are simply facts.
Been keeping an eye towards moving to Spain when I retire, I usually have no issues with Noise, or any of the other Cons, but I have been concerned with the rise in prices for Real State. Initially I wanted to buy a small house and fix it up, then I thought about buying the land and build a small house to my taste, Now Im back to Buying a small home and fixing it up. Italy prices have gone up too.
I used to go to that part of Spain 30 years ago. Rivas has changed quite a lot but Perales looks the same. Yes, Spain is noisy and summers are becoming more unbearable year after year.
Estoy de acuerdo... well said. I've been in Malaga for 22 years and prices have quadrupled since then. Actually, they have nearly doubled in just 3 years, in terms of rental prices. It's nearly impossible to find a long term rental due to all the vacation and short term rentals, and of course the rental laws don't help (it's nearly impossible for a landlord to evict bad tenants). We also have big water shortages now - in my town they turn off the water between 12am and 6am. They've also cut off all the showers from the beach. Electricity and water are crazy expensive, too. Calle Larios and the casco antiguo have turned into major tourist traps. Malaga has sold its soul... En fin... it's a shame, since as you said, if you work in the local economy, you can't make ends meet. I have a lot of local malagueño friends who have moved inland. I may have to do the same... or ... look for my next chapter elsewhere.
Ah yes, the noise. Spain is the 2nd noisiest country in the world (after Japan) and it's not easy to find peace and quiet even if you live in a small village in the country. I recently visited Italy and was surprised at how quiet it was. That's how loud Spain is......

Spain's not that cheap anymore for someone from Australia... the inflation in Spain over the last 2 years plus the weak Aussie dollar means it's almost the same if not the same. On some items it's more expensive once the exchange rate is accounted for (e.g. cars).

We were there in the summer of 2017. It was only June & it was getting up to 43C degrees. I look like you (in coloring) and thought I was going to DIE!! We escaped up to St Jean Port de Pied in the Pyrenees. Needless to say, I lived!🤣🤣
Do not listen to this guy. He just took a few old clichés. Normal towns and villages in Spain are not noisy. After 22:00 everywhere is quiet. Local laws "ordenanzas" are strict regarding noise. Police Will come if you call them. Of course if you go to Benidorm or any turistict área during summer It Will be noisy. Go and live inland in a castille town, all quiet and peacefull.
Seems all pretty positive to me. Noise issue seems the worst but thats towns for you. Best live in the countryside if possible and duck in and out of towns for necessities and entertainment.
In general dogs I haven't had a problem with dogs in Spain. That is with one exception; their incessant barking which is ubiquitous. Many people leave dogs alone in their apartments or fastened up outside all day and the damned dog never stops barking. It drives me crazy. For me, that is the biggest con of all about living in Spain.
Ha if you think it is hot there just look at San Antonio Texas this year! 110 consecutive days of 32.2C or above. 76 days of 37.8C or more! 25 days new record temperature set. We still do not have fall temperatures. Noise! Ha try Peru!
Yes, I live in Canada as well and the cost of living here is crazy. I visited Spain in November 2023 and even with a weak Canadian dollar, I think Spain was very cheap. Of course, for locals could be the opposite. The world in general is more expensive. I loved Spain and planning on retiring there in few years.
Having travelled throughout Spain and France quite frequently, one big Con for me personally is the fact people in both countries won't think anything about lighting up a cigarette right next to you.whilst you're sitting there enjoying a meal or just having a coffee. They have no concept of spacial awareness. But apart from that little annoying aspect. I still love Spain.
I was brought up in Switzerland until 16 very strictly to have manners and courtesy. LIVING In SPAIN iTS often very rare to experience such qualities. In the UK depends .. as there is such intense multicultural society and clash of cultures has turned everything upside down unfortunately

I would definitely agree with Stu regarding the weather. Some amazing sunshine in the Winter, but unbearable Summers. The temperatures can sit at around 30 degrees all night during the peak times. And if you don't have air-con you can say good night to a decent sleep.
The temps don't really bother me these days. It took about 2 summers to get used to it. Fans and a cool shower before bed works well. Been here in Southern Spain for 22 years. Best country in the world ❤
You will need airconditioning, particularly in July and August in most parts of Spain. Many Spanish people escape to the north of Spain during those months as it is a bit cooler there.
No idea why but i dont think the summer is being hotter than in previous years but for whatever reason i enjoy heatwaves so better dont take my opinion seriously lol

We bought a flat in Ferrol in NW Spain for an excellent price. It was in beautiful condition and fully furnished. The HOA fee is only 50 Euros and the insurance 500 Euros. Compare that with the HOA fee on our Palm Beach Co., FL home of $600 a month and home insurance is just under $8,000 a year. Ferrol is quiet, very safe and the people very, very welcoming. Summers see day time temps of mid 70sF. Yes, it is cool and rainy in the winter - low 50sF, but the rains are usually light and do not keep us indoors. We are studying Spanish with Duolingo. Waiting for our Residence Visas. It has taken months because it was nearly impossible to find the required health insurance since we are above age 80. We refused to give up and it finally paid off. Our suggestion would be to look at towns in the NW of Spain - Vigo, Pontevedra, Ferrol, A Coruna, etc.
Be careful from the ocupados, this is the biggest problem in Spain, the enter in the house and if you are not there and go to the police in 48 h you can wait 1 or 3 years if the court do something. Look under ccupado Spain…..

We live right on the outskirts of the city of Valencia & recorded a temperature of 23°C on 25/12/22.. This was not normal & winters have been getting warmer in the last 4 years or so. Other than that we agree with your video & enjoyed it. 👍🏻
Spain is full, The days of cheaper prpoertys are over, and on the costa blanca and sol, There is no rental markets for full long term rentals, Its changed
When I think of retiring somewhere in Europe, I think of Spain bc I ready speak the language passably, but wasn’t sure if it’s a good fit for retirees. The cost might be prohibitive and the noise might be a problem, not sure.

Also, more people smoke in Spain. In the US, less and less people smoke. Or they smoke away from buildings and crowd. In Spain, smoking is everywhere and in our faces. I was in Madrid community, Escorial,mahadahonda, etc., people smoke in outside cafe which is quite annoying. But they are smiling so you can’t be mad at them. Well, the charm of Spain…..

Spain Speaks- yes Stu I would agree Americans have their problems to especially the housing right now in big cities search is San Diego California and Orlando Florida it's horrendous meaning of people can afford to live here in the US that's why they're moving to other countries in Europe. For example I read that a woman moved to Italy because she was born in American and was raised in America for a long time but she couldn't afford to live in America because of the housing prices it's ridiculous and yes we also have a democracy we've always had one.

Been looking for a vacation home in Spain…preferably 1 to 2 hours from Barcelona (wife has family who live there). The problem is the prices are quite a bit more than I want to pay for a nice, move-in ready home. My budget is between €75K-€90K. I have found a few acceptable properties that fit in the budget, but I’ve also been looking in southern Spain; the pricing is considerably better. My budget would be a bit bigger, but looking to by a vacation home in Italy, as well.

The word for "squatter" didn't exist in Spanish. We (only in Spain) made up "okupa" to refer that, which is not even proper Spanish. Before "okupa" we used "squatter", an imported word from the UK when the Margaret Thatcher times. I don't know if there is squatting in the USA. I'm pretty sure it is legal to shoot squatters there or at least showing them with the gun where the exit is.

main pros: weather, lower cost of living cons: smoking, dog poop, resentment of foreigners, lack of manners and respect, lack of consideration for others, whether that is with noise, smoking, safety, waiting your turn, or anything else. Spain is very, very backward when it comes to matters of health and safety.
Taking dogs everywhere is a huge CON, dog owners don’t know how to behave, they don’t pick up the poop after their dogs, you can’t be taking a dog to a food supermarket, that’s just unsanitary. You can’t be taking your dogs to close public places like airplanes, buses, and trains, come on guys!!! Think about it there are many humans who are allergic to dogs too and cats for that matter. So keep your pets in the comfort of your own home.

Dogs bring a lot of pleasure and companionship to many people. It’s a mean spirited attitude to deny reasonable access to people and their dogs. Dog owners on holiday need to eat, drink, have fun, so if bar, cafe, restaurant owners are happy to admit well behaved dogs then what’s the harm. I agree pets shouldn’t be in supermarkets, but there are plenty of places where it is reasonable

Homelessness is rampant i pay almost 40% in taxes and my wife and I make in excess of a quarter million a year. We are barley able to make it the mortgage for a 3bd 2 ba house is 4300 a month food is 1200 a month not to mention other bills and necessities. Just wanted to give a little insight. Sure my house has doubled price in 4 years of owning it but the services are shit it seems as though our rights are being taken and being given to criminals. I get a ticket for being on the phone driving but the addicts naked on the corner smoking fetnyl dont because theyre "victims" its just bs. I have to pay taxes but get no benefit the streets are filthy and deteriorating they are pouring money into DEI programs and spreading money all over the world for "democracy" which is really socialism pushing towards communism. People fail to see that the little guy is being choked out. I have already told my wife if Trump doesnt win in 24 im selling my house getting my 600k in equity and buying a chalet in Asturias to live like a king although i will be working for WAY LESS money the bills wont crush us like here. I hope they whole world has a coming to which i believe is getting closer with each passing day but im not yet 30 and im completely tired of this rat race lifestyle. I would move to Spain in a heart beat if it were not so difficult to find a job with decent pay. The labour market is spains biggest problem as you have also pointed out in many videos. Im a teacher now so I could maybe find a job in an international school but I would expect to be paid less than here in Sweden for a similar role. Housing im not sure i would put as a con. Of course with higher paying jobs you need to be in higher rent locations but with some flexibility Spain is rather affordable when it comes to housing compared to northern Europe.
Politics yeah i agree Spain seems to turn out as a middle of the road country politically which maybe in my opinion is a good thing. Well I can reveal I would probably have voted right wing in Spain. In my opinion the public sector needs a bit of a shake up down there.

“Castellano” id the synonym for “Spanish” and the main language in Spain. No need to stress out with these other dialects
Good analysis of modern Spain, Stu, cheers. Two things that stand out for me: concerning noise, Spain may be relatively noisier than some other countries, but modern Spain is definitely quieter than Spain in the 90s - back then, the noise was impressive. Traffic, bars (bars!! the tv, the slot machines, the people, it was a glorious madness!!), the streets... it was unbelievable. Second, the driving habits: Spanish driving in the 90s was chaotic, dangerous and weird. But since July 2006, when the new traffic laws were introduced, driving in Spain steadily became what it is today: conservative, easy-going. Of course still the odd mad driver out there, but nothing like what I saw in the 90s. In my Euro experience, only Italy was worse....
Many buildings in Spain have zero insulation in the walls so you can hear absolutely everything from flats next door or above. This is also the reason why many of the apartments are freezing cold in winter and using heating does not help as the heat goes straight out and does not stay in.
Traffic wasn't that bad in the 90s. Laws had already been changed. It was terrible in the 80s ;)
There are more and more laws, but what is really needed in Spain is much better enforcement of rules and laws. @@jal051
Reference pets. In my area of Almería the amount of dogs particularly who are dumped is as bad as ever. The local shelters, all run by English are overunn and all manage only by donations and fundraising . Some are dumped when pregnant. Should be a law to neuter.
Spain is not cheap anymore. And with the low salaries a vast proportion of the population are on, its beyond me how they survive.
Little wonder the norm these days is for a person to rent share an apartment with others. Particularly in the big cities.
As a Spaniard by birth that resides in Australia i can tell you that property prices and rents are very similar in both countries. Electricity and gas is far cheaper in Australia as is petrol.
Even most European car brands are cheaper in Australia, which makes no sense at all.
Difference is Australian salaries are over all far higher .
The purchasing power of the vast majority that ive in Australia is way superior to Spain.
Probably the reason why the vast majority of persons you encounter in the centre of Spanish cities these days are tourists.
Unfortunately most Spanhards are finding it harder and harder to afford living in their own cities.

Thanks for the video. As to the cost of living: I'm here in the US and yeah, we probably make more on average than say Spain or Portugal. My wife and just came back from Portugal. We had dinner in some very posh restaurants in Lisbon and the meal for two with appetizer, main course including a salad, a pitcher of sparkling white sangria, dessert and coffee usually came to 45 to 55 Euros. We've been back home now in the Washington DC suburbs and went to a birthday dinner for my wife. We went to a new local winery, 5 minutes from the house. I had a burger and a beer, she had a salmon salad and two glasses of wine and we had dessert, $109. We got Chinese food from one of our local take out places Monday night. Kung Pao chicken, chicken fried rice, wonton soup for two and two egg rolls. $49. Be careful what you wish for. If you start making more money, you'll just be paying more for everything and still wind up in the same spot financially. Gun culture here in the US is out of control. Here we are in early September and we've surpassed 475 mass shootings.
While I agree with most of your comment you missed an important point. "Shall not be infringed". Do I feel safer in Spain? Absolutely but I also feel safe with a gun here in Los Angeles. If you can't beat them join them. Look at the stabbings in London. It's a damned if you do damned if you damned if you don't.

Useful video. There has been an increase in big storms and flash flooding in Spain in the past few years. The north of Spain is cooler and has a different type of weather. It is said that people are also a bit friendlier in the north. However, there can be quite high winds and heavy rains in the north, particular in the winter months. One topic that has not been addressed is racism. Spain is still quite racist (conscious and unconcious). Your experience of visiting or living in Spain will vary widely depending on which country you are from, what your native language is, your accent, and particularly, how fair or dark your skin colour is. You will be treated more favorably the lighter your skin colour is and less and less favourably the darker your skin colour is.
You will be served first if you are fair skinned and from Germany or Sweden for example, over people from countries such as countries of Latin America and those who are darker skinned. If you are on your own, you will often be ignored and/or treated in a hostile manner at the more touristy cafes and restaurants that only want couples or groups that they think will spend more money and leave more tips. You will also get a table more easily and be served with preference if you are white and blonde or have in your group others who are white and blonde than if you don´t. This is partly due to the fact that the waiters believe that you may come from a more well-off country and have more money to spend than people who are darker skinned. These are simply facts.
Been keeping an eye towards moving to Spain when I retire, I usually have no issues with Noise, or any of the other Cons, but I have been concerned with the rise in prices for Real State. Initially I wanted to buy a small house and fix it up, then I thought about buying the land and build a small house to my taste, Now Im back to Buying a small home and fixing it up. Italy prices have gone up too.

Estoy de acuerdo... well said. I've been in Malaga for 22 years and prices have quadrupled since then. Actually, they have nearly doubled in just 3 years, in terms of rental prices. It's nearly impossible to find a long term rental due to all the vacation and short term rentals, and of course the rental laws don't help (it's nearly impossible for a landlord to evict bad tenants).
We also have big water shortages now - in my town they turn off the water between 12am and 6am. They've also cut off all the showers from the beach. Electricity and water are crazy expensive, too.
Calle Larios and the casco antiguo have turned into major tourist traps.
Malaga has sold its soul...
En fin... it's a shame, since as you said, if you work in the local economy, you can't make ends meet. I have a lot of local malagueño friends who have moved inland. I may have to do the same... or ... look for my next chapter elsewhere.
Ah yes, the noise. Spain is the 2nd noisiest country in the world (after Japan) and it's not easy to find peace and quiet even if you live in a small village in the country. I recently visited Italy and was surprised at how quiet it was. That's how loud Spain is......

Spain's not that cheap anymore for someone from Australia... the inflation in Spain over the last 2 years plus the weak Aussie dollar means it's almost the same if not the same. On some items it's more expensive once the exchange rate is accounted for (e.g. cars).

Normal towns and villages in Spain are not noisy. After 22:00 everywhere is quiet. Local laws "ordenanzas" are strict regarding noise. Police Will come if you call them.
Of course if you go to Benidorm or any turistict área during summer It Will be noisy. Go and live inland in a castille town, all quiet and peacefull.
Seems all pretty positive to me. Noise issue seems the worst but thats towns for you. Best live in the countryside if possible and duck in and out of towns for necessities and entertainment.

In general dogs I haven't had a problem with dogs in Spain. That is with one exception; their incessant barking which is ubiquitous. Many people leave dogs alone in their apartments or fastened up outside all day and the damned dog never stops barking.
It drives me crazy.
For me, that is the biggest con of all about living in Spain.
Bottom line is ,can you move to Spain ? Unless you hold an EU passport it's not easy.

Yes, I live in Canada as well and the cost of living here is crazy. I visited Spain in November 2023 and even with a weak Canadian dollar, I think Spain was very cheap. Of course, for locals could be the opposite. The world in general is more expensive. I loved Spain and planning on retiring there in few years.

Having travelled throughout Spain and France quite frequently, one big Con for me personally is the fact people in both countries won't think anything about lighting up a cigarette right next to you.whilst you're sitting there enjoying a meal or just having a coffee. They have no concept of spacial awareness. But apart from that little annoying aspect. I still love Spain.

I would definitely agree with Stu regarding the weather. Some amazing sunshine in the Winter, but unbearable Summers. The temperatures can sit at around 30 degrees all night during the peak times. And if you don't have air-con you can say good night to a decent sleep.
The temps don't really bother me these days. It took about 2 summers to get used to it. Fans and a cool shower before bed works well.

You will need airconditioning, particularly in July and August in most parts of Spain. Many Spanish people escape to the north of Spain during those months as it is a bit cooler there.

We bought a flat in Ferrol in NW Spain for an excellent price. It was in beautiful condition and fully furnished. The HOA fee is only 50 Euros and the insurance 500 Euros. Compare that with the HOA fee on our Palm Beach Co., FL home of $600 a month and home insurance is just under $8,000 a year. Ferrol is quiet, very safe and the people very, very welcoming. Summers see day time temps of mid 70sF. Yes, it is cool and rainy in the winter - low 50sF, but the rains are usually light and do not keep us indoors. We are studying Spanish with Duolingo. Waiting for our Residence Visas. It has taken months because it was nearly impossible to find the required health insurance since we are above age 80. We refused to give up and it finally paid off. Our suggestion would be to look at towns in the NW of Spain - Vigo, Pontevedra, Ferrol, A Coruna, etc.
Be careful from the ocupados, this is the biggest problem in Spain, the enter in the house and if you are not there and go to the police in 48 h you can wait 1 or 3 years if the court do something. Look under ccupado Spain…..

We live right on the outskirts of the city of Valencia & recorded a temperature of 23°C on 25/12/22.. This was not normal & winters have been getting warmer in the last 4 years or so. Spain Speaks- yes Stu I would agree Americans have their problems to especially the housing right now in big cities search is San Diego California and Orlando Florida it's horrendous meaning of people can afford to live here in the US that's why they're moving to other countries in Europe. For example I read that a woman moved to Italy because she was born in American and was raised in America for a long time but she couldn't afford to live in America because of the housing prices it's ridiculous and yes we also have a democracy we've always had one.

Been looking for a vacation home in Spain…preferably 1 to 2 hours from Barcelona (wife has family who live there). The problem is the prices are quite a bit more than I want to pay for a nice, move-in ready home. My budget is between €75K-€90K. I have found a few acceptable properties that fit in the budget, but I’ve also been looking in southern Spain; the pricing is considerably better. My budget would be a bit bigger, but looking to by a vacation home in Italy, as well.

The word for "squatter" didn't exist in Spanish. We (only in Spain) made up "okupa" to refer that, which is not even proper Spanish. Before "okupa" we used "squatter", an imported word from the UK when the Margaret Thatcher times.

Taking dogs everywhere is a huge CON, dog owners don’t know how to behave, they don’t pick up the poop after their dogs, you can’t be taking a dog to a food supermarket, that’s just unsanitary. You can’t be taking your dogs to close public places like airplanes, buses, and trains, come on guys!!! Think about it there are many humans who are allergic to dogs too and cats for that matter. So keep your pets in the comfort of your own home.

Dogs bring a lot of pleasure and companionship to many people. It’s a mean spirited attitude to deny reasonable access to people and their dogs. Dog owners on holiday need to eat, drink, have fun, so if bar, cafe, restaurant owners are happy to admit well behaved dogs then what’s the harm. I agree pets shouldn’t be in supermarkets, but there are plenty of places where it is reasonable

I would move to Spain in a heart beat if it were not so difficult to find a job with decent pay. The labour market is spains biggest problem as you have also pointed out in many videos. Im a teacher now so I could maybe find a job in an international school but I would expect to be paid less than here in Sweden for a similar role. Housing im not sure i would put as a con. Of course with higher paying jobs you need to be in higher rent locations but with some flexibility Spain is rather affordable when it comes to housing compared to northern Europe.
Politics yeah i agree Spain seems to turn out as a middle of the road country politically which maybe in my opinion is a good thing. Well I can reveal I would probably have voted right wing in Spain. In my opinion the public sector needs a bit of a shake up down there.
